< Psalms 71 >

1 By David, [a Psalm sung by] the sons of Jonadab, and the first that were taken captive. O Lord, I have hoped in thee: let me never be put to shame.
Kathutkung: Panuekhoeh Oe BAWIPA, nang doeh na kâuep. Kaya hoi na awm sak hanh.
2 In thy righteousness deliver me and rescue me: incline thine ear to me, and save me.
Na lannae hoi na rungngang nateh, na hlout sak haw. Kai koe lah na hnâpakeng nateh na rungngang haw.
3 Be to me a protecting God, and a strong hold to save me: for thou art my fortress and my refuge.
Kai ni pou ka pâtam teh ka onae lungsong lah awm haw. Kai rungngang hanelah kâ na poe teh, kaie lungsong, kaie rapan lah na o.
4 Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the sinner, from the hand of the transgressor and unjust man.
Oe ka Cathut, tamikathout kut dawk hoi thoseh, tamikalanhoehe hoi tamitongthoe kut dawk hoi thoseh, na rungngang haw.
5 For thou art my support, O Lord; O Lord, [thou art] my hope from my youth.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, oe Bawipa Jehovah, nang teh ka camo nahoi na kâuep e lah na o.
6 On thee have I been stayed from the womb: from the belly of my mother thou art my protector: of thee is my praise continually.
Pek ka khe hoi na kuet teh, nang teh anu von thung hoi na ka lat e lah na o. Nang teh pou na pholen han.
7 I am become as it were a wonder to many: but thou art [my] strong helper.
Tami moikapap kângai karusakkung lah ka o. Hatei, nang teh kacake kânguenae doeh.
8 Let my mouth be filled with praise, that I may hymn thy glory, [and] thy majesty all the day.
Ka pahni teh nang pholennae hoi akawi teh, hnintangkuem nange pholennae hoi kawi naseh.
9 Cast me not off at the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength fails.
Ka matawng toteh na hnoun hanh lah a. Ka tha a youn toteh na cettakhai hanh lah a.
10 For mine enemies have spoken against me; and they that lay wait for my soul have taken counsel together,
Bangkongtetpawiteh, ka tarannaw ni na pathoe awh. Kai thei han a ngai awh dawkvah, pouknae a kâpoe awh teh, na pawp awh.
11 saying, God has forsaken him: persecute ye and take him; for there is none to deliver [him].
Cathut ni a ceitakhai toe. Pâlei awh nateh man awh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, ka rungngang hane awm hoeh telah ati awh.
12 O God, go not far from me, O my God, draw nigh to my help.
Oe Cathut, na hlat takhai hanh. Oe ka Cathut, karanglah na kabawm haw.
13 Let those that plot against my soul be ashamed and utterly fail: let those that seek my hurt be clothed with shame and dishonour.
Ka hringnae ka tarannaw hah kayayeirai hoi rawknae koe phat awh naseh. Runae poe hanlah kakâcainaw hah pahuipalamnae hoi yeiraiponae ni ramuk awh naseh.
14 But I will hope continually, and will praise thee more and more.
Hatei, pou ka ngaihawi vaiteh, hoehoe ka pholen han.
15 My mouth shall declare thy righteousness openly, [and] thy salvation all the day; for I am not acquainted with the affairs [of men].

16 I will go on in the might of the Lord: O Lord, I will make mention of thy righteousness only.

17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth, and until now will I declare thy wonders;
Oe Cathut, ka camo nah hoi na cangkhai toe, Atu totouh kângairu hno na sak e hah ka pâpho.
18 even until I am old and advanced in years. O God, forsake me not; until I shall have declared thine arm to all the generation that is to come:
Sekatha taminaw hoi ka tâcawt hane naw koe na thaonae hoi na hnotithainae ka pâpho hoeh roukrak, ka matawng teh ka sam a po toteh, Oe Cathut na cettakhai hanh.
19 even thy power and thy righteousness, O God, up to the highest [heavens, even] the mighty works which thou has done: O God, who is like to thee?
Oe Cathut, na lannae hai a rasang poung. Oe Cathut, hnokalen kasakkung, nang patetlah apimouh ouk kaawm va.
20 What afflictions many and sore hast thou shewed me! yet thou didst turn and quicken me, and broughtest me again from the depths of the earth.
Kalen ni teh ka patawpoung e runae na kâhmosakkung nang ni na roung sak nateh, kadung poung e talai thung hoi bout na rasat haw.
21 Thou didst multiply thy righteousness, and didst turn and comfort me, and broughtest me again out of the depths of the earth.
Ka tawntanae na pung sak vaiteh, lung bout na pahawi han.
22 I will also therefore give thanks to thee, O God, [because of] thy truth, on an instrument of psalmody: I will sing psalms to thee on the harp, O Holy One of Israel.
Tamawi hoi na pholen han. Oe Cathut, yuemkamcu lah na onae hah ka pholen han. Oe Isarel e Kathoung Cathut, ratoung hoi la sak laihoi na pholen han.
23 My lips shall rejoice when I sing to thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
Nang pholen laihoi la ka sak toteh, ka pahni teh a lunghawi katang han. Na ratang e ka hringnae hai a lunghawi han.
24 Moreover also my tongue shall dwell all the day upon thy righteousness; when they shall be ashamed and confounded that seek my hurt.
Ka lai ni hai kanîruirui pout laipalah na lannae a dei han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, runae poe hanlah kakâcainaw hah lungpout laihoi yeiraipo sak lah ao toe.
