Psalms 4
1 For the End, a Song of David among [the ]Psalms. When I called upon [him], the God of my righteousness heard me: thou hast made room for me in tribulation; pity me, and hearken to my prayer.
| برای سالار مغنیان برذوات اوتار. مزمور داود ای خدای عدالت من، چون بخوانم مرا مستجاب فرما. در تنگی مرا وسعت دادی. بر من کرم فرموده، دعای مرا بشنو. | ۱ |
2 O ye sons of men, how long [will ye be] slow of heart? wherefore do ye love vanity, and seek falsehood? (Pause)
| ای فرزندان انسان تا به کی جلال من عار خواهد بود، و بطالت را دوست داشته، دروغ را خواهید طلبید؟ سلاه | ۲ |
3 But know ye that the Lord has done wondrous things for his holy one: the Lord will hear me when I cry to him.
| اما بدانید که خداوند مرد صالح را برای خودانتخاب کرده است، و چون او را بخوانم خداوندخواهد شنید. | ۳ |
4 Be ye angry, and sin not; feel compunction upon your beds for what ye say in your hearts. (Pause)
| خشم گیرید و گناه مورزید. در دلها بربسترهای خود تفکر کنید و خاموش باشید. سلاه | ۴ |
5 Offer the sacrifice of righteousness, and trust in the Lord.
| قربانی های عدالت را بگذرانید و بر خداوندتوکل نمایید. | ۵ |
6 Many say, Who will shew us good things? the light of thy countenance, O Lord, has been manifested towards us.
| بسیاری می‌گویند: «کیست که به ما احسان نماید؟» ای خداوند نور چهره خویش را بر مابرافراز. | ۶ |
7 Thou hast put gladness into my heart: they have been satisfied with the fruit of their corn and wine and oil.
| شادمانی در دل من پدید آورده‌ای، بیشتر از وقتی که غله و شیره ایشان افزون گردید. | ۷ |
8 I will both lie down in peace and sleep: for thou, Lord, only hast caused me to dwell securely.
| بسلامتی می‌خسبم و به خواب هم می‌روم زیراکه تو فقط‌ای خداوند مرا در اطمینان ساکن می‌سازی. | ۸ |
