Psalms 25
1 A Psalm of David. To thee, O Lord, have I lifted up my soul.
De David. O Éternel, j'élève mon âme à toi.
2 O my God, I have trusted in thee: let me not be confounded, neither let mine enemies laugh me to scorn.
Mon Dieu, je mets en toi ma confiance: Que je ne sois pas couvert de confusion! Que mes ennemis ne se réjouissent pas à mon sujet!
3 For none of them that wait on thee shall in any wise be ashamed: let them be ashamed that transgress without cause.
Non, aucun de ceux qui s'attendent à toi Ne sera couvert de honte; Mais ils rougiront tous de honte, Ceux qui se révoltent injustement contre toi.
4 Shew me thy ways, O Lord; and teach me thy paths.
Éternel, fais-moi connaître tes voies; Enseigne-moi tes sentiers!
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art God my Saviour: and I have waited on thee all the day.
Fais-moi marcher dans la voie de ta vérité, et instruis-moi; Car tu es le Dieu de mon salut: Je m'attends à toi chaque jour.
6 Remember thy compassions, O Lord, and thy mercies, for they are from everlasting.
Éternel, souviens-toi de tes compassions et de tes bontés; Car elles sont de tout temps.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor [my sins] of ignorance: remember me according to thy mercy, for thy goodness' sake, O Lord.
Ne te souviens pas des fautes de ma jeunesse, ni de mes péchés; Souviens-toi de moi, dans ta bonté, A cause de ta bienveillance, ô Éternel!
8 Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he instruct sinners in [the] way.
L'Éternel est bon et droit; C'est pourquoi il montrera le chemin aux pécheurs.
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: the meek will he teach his ways.
Il fera marcher les humbles dans la justice; Il enseignera sa voie aux humbles.
10 All the ways of the Lord are mercy and truth to them that seek his covenant and his testimonies.
Tous les sentiers de l'Éternel ne sont que bonté et fidélité, Pour ceux qui gardent son alliance et ses commandements.
11 For thy name's sake, O Lord, do thou also be merciful to my sin; for it is great.
Pour l'amour de ton nom, ô Éternel, Tu pardonneras mon iniquité, bien qu'elle soît grande!
12 Who is the man that fears the Lord? he shall instruct him in the way which he has chosen.
Quel est l'homme qui craint l'Éternel? L'Éternel lui enseignera le chemin qu'il doit choisir.
13 His soul shall dwell in prosperity; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
Son âme reposera au sein du bonheur. Et sa postérité possédera la terre.
14 The Lord is the strength of them that fear him; and his covenant is to manifest [truth] to them.
Le secret de l'Éternel est pour ceux qui le craignent. Et il leur fait connaître son alliance.
15 Mine eyes are continually to the Lord; for he shall draw my feet out of the snare.
Mes yeux regardent sans cesse vers l'Éternel; Car il dégagera mes pieds du filet.
16 Look upon me, and have mercy upon me; for I am an only child and poor.
Tourne-toi vers moi, prends pitié de moi; Car je suis seul et misérable!
17 The afflictions of my heart have been multiplied; deliver me from my distresses.
La détresse de mon coeur augmente: Délivre-moi de mes angoisses!
18 Look upon mine affliction and my trouble; and forgive all my sins.
Vois ma misère et mon tourment. Et pardonne tous mes péchés!
19 Look upon mine enemies; for they have been multiplied; and they have hated me with unjust hatred.
Vois combien mes ennemis sont nombreux Et de quelle violente haine ils sont animés contre moi.
20 Keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I have hoped in thee.
Garde mon âme et délivre-moi! Que je ne sois pas couvert de honte; Car j'ai cherché un refuge auprès de toi!
21 The harmless and upright joined themselves to me: for I waited for thee, O Lord.
Que l'intégrité et la droiture me protègent; Car j'ai mis mon espoir en toi!
22 Deliver Israel, O God, out of all his afflictions.
Dieu, délivre Israël De toutes ses détresses!
