< Psalms 20 >
1 For the end, a Psalm of David. The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee.
To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid. The Lord heare thee in the day of trouble: the name of ye God of Iaakob defend thee:
2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and aid thee out of Sion.
Send thee helpe from the Sanctuarie, and strengthen thee out of Zion.
3 Remember all thy sacrifice, and enrich thy whole-burnt-offering. (Pause)
Let him remember all thine offerings, and turne thy burnt offerings into asshes. (Selah)
4 Grant thee according to thy heart, and fulfill all thy desire.
And graunt thee according to thine heart, and fulfill all thy purpose:
5 We will exult in thy salvation, and in the name of our God shall we be magnified: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.
That we may reioyce in thy saluation, and set vp the banner in the Name of our God, when the Lord shall performe all thy petitions.
6 Now I know that the Lord has saved his Christ: he shall hear him from his holy heaven: the salvation of his right hand is mighty.
Now know I that the Lord will helpe his anointed, and will heare him from his Sanctuarie, by the mightie helpe of his right hand.
7 Some [glory] in chariots, and some in horses: but we will glory in the name of the Lord our God.
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the Name of ye Lord our God.
8 They are overthrown and fallen: but we are risen, and have been set upright.
They are brought downe and fallen, but we are risen, and stand vpright.
9 O Lord, save the king: and hear us in whatever day we call upon thee.
Saue Lord: let the King heare vs in the day that we call.
