Psalms 148

1 Alleluia, [a Psalm] of Aggaeus and Zacharias. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the highest.

Praise ye Yah, Praise Yahweh, out of the heavens, Praise him, in the heights;

2 Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.

Praise him, all his messengers, Praise him, all his host;

3 Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all ye stars and light.

Praise him, sun and moon, Praise him, all ye stars of light;

4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and the water that is above the heavens.

Praise him, O ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that are above the heavens;

5 Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he spoke, and they were made; he commanded, and they were created.

Let them praise the Name of Yahweh, for, he, commanded, and they were created;

6 He has established them for ever, even for ever and ever: he has made an ordinance, and it shall not pass away.

So caused he them to stand perpetually—age-abidingly, A decree, hath he given, and it passeth not beyond.

7 Praise the Lord from the earth, ye serpents, and all deeps.

Praise Yahweh, out of the earth, sea monsters, and all resounding deeps;

8 Fire, hail, snow, ice, stormy wind; the things that perform his word.

Fire and hail, snow and vapour, stormy wind, fulfilling his word;

9 Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:

Ye mountains, and all hills, fruit trees, and all cedars;

10 wild beasts, and all cattle; reptiles, and winged birds:

Thou wild-beast, and all ye cattle, crawling creature, and bird of wing;

11 kings of the earth, and all peoples; princes, and all judges of the earth:

Kings of earth, and all peoples, Rulers, and all judges of earth;

12 young men and virgins, old men with youths:

Young men, yea even virgins, elders, and children.

13 let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name only is exalted; his praise is above the earth and heaven,

Let them praise the Name of Yahweh, for lofty is his Name alone, His splendour is over earth and heavens.

14 and he shall exalt the horn of his people, [there is] a hymn for all his saints, [even] of the children of Israel, a people who draw near to him.

Therefore hath he exalted a horn for his people, a praise for all his men of lovingkindness, for the sons of Israel—a people near him, Praise ye Yah!
