Psalms 146

1 Alleluia, [a Psalm] of Aggaeus and Zacharias. My soul, praise the Lord.

Halleluja! Lova HERREN, min själ.

2 While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist.

Jag vill lova HERREN, så länge jag lever, jag vill lovsjunga min Gud, så länge jag är till.

3 Trust not in princes, nor in the children of men, in whom there is no safety.

Förliten eder icke på furstar, icke på en människoson, han kan icke hjälpa.

4 His breath shall go forth, and he shall return to his earth; in that day all his thoughts shall perish.

Hans ande måste sin väg, han vänder tillbaka till den jord varav han är kommen; då varda hans anslag om intet.

5 Blessed is he whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God:

Säll är den vilkens hjälp är Jakobs Gud, den vilkens hopp står till HERREN, hans Gud,

6 who made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all things in them: who keeps truth for ever:

till honom som har gjort himmelen och jorden och havet och allt vad i dem är, till honom som håller tro evinnerligen,

7 who executes judgment for the wronged: who gives food to the hungry. The Lord looses the fettered ones:

som skaffar rätt åt de förtryckta, som giver bröd åt de hungrande. HERREN löser de fångna,

8 the Lord gives wisdom to the blind: The Lord sets up the broken down: the Lord loves the righteous: the Lord preserves the strangers;

HERREN öppnar de blindas ögon, HERREN upprättar de nedböjda, HERREN älskar de rättfärdiga,

9 he will relieve the orphan and widow: but will utterly remove the way of sinners.

HERREN bevarar främlingar, faderlösa och änkor uppehåller han; men de ogudaktigas väg vänder han i villa.

10 The Lord shall reign for ever, [even] thy God, O Sion, to all generations.

HERREN är konung evinnerligen, din Gud, Sion, från släkte till släkte. Halleluja!
