Psalms 145
1 David's [Psalm of] praise. I will exalt thee, my God, my king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.
Ein Lobgesang Davids. Ich will dich erheben, mein Gott, du König, und deinen Namen immer und ewig preisen!
2 Every day will I bless thee, and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.
Tag für Tag will ich dich preisen und deinen Namen immer und ewig rühmen.
3 The Lord is great, and greatly to be praised; and there is no end to his greatness.
Jahwe ist groß und hoch zu rühmen, und seine Größe ist unausforschlich.
4 Generation after generation shall praise thy works, and tell of thy power.
Ein Geschlecht rühme dem anderen deine Werke und verkündige deine gewaltigen Thaten.
5 And they shall speak of the glorious majesty of thy holiness, and recount thy wonders.
Von der Hoheit deiner majestätischen Herrlichkeit sollen sie reden; von deinen Wundern will ich sprechen.
6 And they shall speak of the power of thy terrible [acts]; and recount thy greatness.
Von der Gewalt deiner furchtbaren Thaten sollen sie sagen, und deine großen Thaten, die will ich erzählen.
7 They shall utter the memory of the abundance of thy goodness, and shall exult in thy righteousness.
Das Gedächtnis deiner großen Güte sollen sie ausströmen und über deine Gerechtigkeit jubeln.
8 The Lord is compassionate, and merciful; long suffering, and abundant in mercy.
Gnädig und barmherzig ist Jahwe, langsam zum Zorn und von großer Gnade.
9 The Lord is good to those that wait [on him]; and his compassions are over all his works.
Jahwe ist allen gütig, und sein Erbarmen erstreckt sich über alle seine Werke.
10 Let all thy works, O Lord, give thanks to thee; and let thy saints bless thee.
Es sollen dich loben, Jahwe, alle deine Werke, und deine Frommen dich preisen.
11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy dominion;
Von der Herrlichkeit deines Königtums sollen sie sagen und von deiner Gewalt reden,
12 to make known to the sons of men thy power, and the glorious majesty of thy kingdom.
daß sie den Menschenkindern seine gewaltigen Thaten kund thun und die majestätische Hoheit seines Königtums.
13 Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion [endures] through all generations. The Lord is faithful in his words, and holy in all his works.
Dein Reich ist ein Reich für alle Ewigkeit, und deine Herrschaft währt durch alle Geschlechter. Wahrhaftig ist Jahwe in allen seinen Worten und gnädig in allen seinen Thaten.
14 The Lord supports all that are falling, and sets up all that are broken down.
Jahwe stützt alle, die da fallen, und richtet alle Gebeugten auf.
15 The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest [them] their food in due season.
Aller Augen warten auf dich, und du giebst ihnen ihre Speise zu seiner Zeit.
16 Thou openest thine hands, and fillest every living thing with pleasure.
Du thust deine Hand auf und sättigst alles Lebendige mit Wohlgefallen.
17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.
Jahwe ist gerecht in allen seinen Wegen und gnädig in allen seinen Thaten.
18 The Lord is near to all that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
Jahwe ist nahe allen, die ihn anrufen, allen, die ihn mit Ernst anrufen.
19 He will perform the desire of them that fear him: and he will hear their supplication, and save them.
Er thut nach dem Willen derer, die ihn fürchten, und hört ihr Geschrei und hilft ihnen.
20 The Lord preserves all that love him: but all sinners he will utterly destroy.
Jahwe behütet alle, die ihn lieben, aber alle Gottlosen vertilgt er.
21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.
Mein Mund soll vom Ruhm Jahwes reden, und alles Fleisch preise seinen heiligen Namen immer und ewig!
