Psalms 143
1 A Psalm of David, when his son pursued him. O Lord, attend to my prayer: hearken to my supplication in thy truth; hear me in thy righteousness.
Ó Senhor, ouve a minha oração, inclina os ouvidos às minhas suplicas: escuta-me segundo a tua verdade, e segundo a tua justiça,
2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant, for in thy sight shall no [man] living be justified.
E não entres em juízo com o teu servo, porque à tua vista não se achará justo nenhum vivente.
3 For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has brought my life down to the ground; he has made me to dwell in a dark [place], as those that have been long dead.
Pois o inimigo perseguiu a minha alma; atropelou-me até ao chão; fêz-me habitar na escuridão, como aqueles que morreram há muito.
4 Therefore my spirit was grieved in me; my heart was troubled within me.
Pelo que o meu espírito se angústia em mim; e o meu coração em mim está desolado.
5 I remembered the days of old; and I meditated on all thy doings: [yea], I meditated on the works of thine hands.
Lembro-me dos dias antigos; considero todos os teus feitos; medito na obra das tuas mãos.
6 I spread forth my hands to thee; my soul [thirsts] for thee, as a dry land. (Pause)
Estendo para ti as minhas mãos; a minha alma tem sede de ti, como terra sedenta (Selah)
7 Hear me speedily, O Lord; my spirit has failed; turn not away thy face from me, else I shall be like to them that go down to the pit.
Ouve-me depressa, ó Senhor; o meu espírito desmaia; não escondas de mim a tua face, para que não seja semelhante aos que descem à cova.
8 Cause me to hear thy mercy in the morning; for I have hoped in thee; make known to me, O Lord, the way wherein I should walk; for I have lifted up my soul to thee.
Faze-me ouvir a tua benignidade pela manhã, pois em ti confio; faze-me saber o caminho que devo seguir, porque a ti levanto a minha alma.
9 Deliver me from mine enemies, O Lord; for I have fled to thee for refuge.
Livra-me, ó Senhor, dos meus inimigos; fujo para ti, para me esconder.
10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God; thy good Spirit shall guide me in the straight [way].
Ensina-me a fazer a tua vontade, pois és o meu Deus: o teu espírito é bom; guia-me por terra plana.
11 Thou shalt quicken me, O Lord, for thy name's sake; in thy righteousness thou shalt bring my soul out of affliction.
Vivifica-me, ó Senhor, por amor do teu nome; por amor da tua justiça, tira a minha alma da angústia.
12 And in thy mercy thou wilt destroy mine enemies, and wilt destroy all those that afflict my soul; for I am thy servant.
E por tua misericórdia desarreiga os meus inimigos, e destrói a todos os que angustiam a minha alma: pois sou teu servo.
