Psalms 140
1 For the end, a Psalm of David. Rescue me, O Lord, from the evil man; deliver me from the unjust man.

2 Who have devised injustice in their hearts; all the day they prepared war.

3 They have sharpened their tongue as [the tongue] of a serpent; the poison of asps is under their lips. (Pause)
Ahnimouh teh amamae lai hah tahrun e lai patetlah, a hran sak awh. Ahnimae pahni thung vah hrunthoe sue ao. (Selah)
4 Keep me, O Lord, from the hand of the sinner; rescue me from unjust men; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
Oe BAWIPA, tamikathoutnaw e kut dawk hoi kai hah na ring haw. Ka mathoutmakainaw e kut dawk hoi na rungngang haw. Ahnimouh ni ka tâlaw nahanelah kho a khang awh.
5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and have stretched out ropes [for] snares for my feet; they set a stumbling-block for me near the path. (Pause)
Ka kâoupnaw ni kai hanelah arulahoi tangkam a patûng awh. Lamthung dawk tamlawk a yangda awh teh, kai hanelah karap a patûng awh. (Selah)
6 I said to the Lord, Thou art my God; hearken, O Lord, to the voice of my supplication.
Nang teh kaie Cathut lah na o tie hah Jehovah koe ka dei. Oe BAWIPA, kai ni ka kâhei e hah na thai pouh haw.
7 O Lord God, the strength of my salvation; thou hast screened my head in the day of battle.

8 Deliver me not, O Lord, to the sinner, according to my desire: they have devised [mischief] against me; forsake me not, lest they should be exalted. (Pause)
Oe BAWIPA, tamikathoutnaw e ngainae teh kuep pouh hoeh. Hawihoehnae sak hanelah noenae teh kuep sak pouh hoeh. Hoehpawiteh, kârasang awh langvaih.
9 [As for] the head of them that compass me, the mischief of their lips shall cover them.
Hot patet e taminaw teh, kaie ka tengpam vah, amamae lû loungouk awh laipalah, amamouh ni a dei awh e hawihoehnae ni amamanaw teh ramuk naseh.
10 Coals of fire shall fall upon them on the earth; and thou shalt cast them down in afflictions: they shall not bear up [under them].
Hmaisaannaw teh amamae van bawt naseh. Ahnimouh teh hmai dawk thoseh, tangkawm thung thoseh, tâkhawng e lah awm awh naseh, bout thaw awh hanh lawiseh.
11 A talkative man shall not prosper on the earth: evils shall hunt the unrighteous man to destruction.
Thoenae ka dei e naw teh, talai van cak awh hanh naseh, ka mathoutmakai e taminaw koe runae ni pâlei awh naseh.
12 I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the poor, and the right of the needy ones.
BAWIPA ni runae kâhmonaw hah a khetyawt teh, kavoutthoupnaw koelah kalan lah lawk a ceng han tie ka panue.
13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks to thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
Atangcalah, tami kalannaw ni na min a pholen awh han. A lungthin kalannaw ni hai na hmalah ao awh han.
