Psalms 114

1 Alleluia. At the going forth of Israel from Egypt, of the house of Jacob from a barbarous people,

Mikor Izraél kivonult Egyiptomból, Jákób háza érthetetlen nyelvű nép közül:

2 Judea became his sanctuary, [and] Israel his dominion.

lett Jehúda szentélyévé, Izraél az ő uradalmává.

3 The sea saw and fled: Jordan was turned back.

A tenger látta és megfutamodott, a Jordán hátra kanyarult;

4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the hills like lambs.

a hegyek szökdeltek mint kosok, a halmok mint fiatal juhok.

5 What [ailed] thee, O sea, that thou fleddest? and thou Jordan, that thou wast turned back?

Mi lelt, oh tenger, hogy megfutamodol, oh Jordán, hogy hátra kanyarúlsz,

6 [Ye] mountains, that ye skipped like rams, and [ye] hills, like lambs?

hegyek ti, hogy szökdeltek mint kosok, halmok, mint fiatal juhok?

7 The earth trembled at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

Az Úr elől reszkess, oh föld, Jákób Istene elől,

8 who turned the rock into pools of water, and the flint into fountains of water.

ő ki a sziklát vizes tóvá változtat-ja, a kovát víznek forrásává.
