Psalms 114

1 Alleluia. At the going forth of Israel from Egypt, of the house of Jacob from a barbarous people,

ইস্রায়েল যখন মিশর ছেড়ে বের হয়ে এল, যাকোবের গোষ্ঠী পরভাষী লোকেদের ছেড়ে,

2 Judea became his sanctuary, [and] Israel his dominion.

যিহূদা ঈশ্বরের পবিত্রস্থান হয়ে উঠল, আর ইস্রায়েল হল তাঁর আধিপত্য।

3 The sea saw and fled: Jordan was turned back.

সমুদ্র দেখল আর পালিয়ে গেল, জর্ডন পিছু ফিরল;

4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the hills like lambs.

পর্বতমালা মেষের মতো, পাহাড়গুলি মেষশাবকের মতো লাফিয়ে উঠল।

5 What [ailed] thee, O sea, that thou fleddest? and thou Jordan, that thou wast turned back?

হে সমুদ্র, কেন তুমি পালিয়ে গেলে? হে জর্ডন, কেন তুমি পিছু ফিরলে?

6 [Ye] mountains, that ye skipped like rams, and [ye] hills, like lambs?

হে পর্বতমালা, কেন তোমরা মেষের মতো, তোমরা পাহাড়গুলি, মেষশাবকের মতো লাফিয়ে উঠলে?

7 The earth trembled at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

হে পৃথিবী, প্রভুর সামনে, আর যাকোবের ঈশ্বরের সামনে কম্পিত হও।

8 who turned the rock into pools of water, and the flint into fountains of water.

তিনি শৈলকে জলাশয়ে, কঠিন শৈলকে জলের উৎসে পরিণত করলেন।
