< Proverbs 12 >
1 He that loves instruction loves sense, but he that hates reproofs is a fool.
Izay tia fananarana no tia fahalalana; Fa izay mandà anatra dia biby.
2 He that has found favour with the Lord [is made] better; but a transgressor shall be passed over in silence.
Ny tsara fanahy mahazo sitraka amin’ i Jehovah; Fa ny mamoron-tsain-dratsy hohelohiny.
3 A man shall not prosper by wickedness; but the roots of the righteous shall not be taken up.
Tsy maha-tafatoetra ny olona ny haratsiana; Fa ny fakan’ ny marina tsy mba hihetsika.
4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband; but as a worm in wood, so a bad woman destroys her husband.
Ny vehivavy tsara dia satro-boninahitry ny lahy; Fa ny vehivavy manao izay mahamenatra kosa dia tahaka ny lò ao anatin’ ny taolana.
5 The thoughts of the righteous [are true] judgments; but ungodly men devise deceits.
Rariny ny hevitry ny marina; Fa fitaka ny fisainan’ ny ratsy fanahy.
6 The words of ungodly men are crafty; but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
Ny tenin’ ny ratsy fanahy dia otrika ho enti-mandatsa-drà; Fa ny vavan’ ny marina hamonjy azy.
7 When the ungodly is overthrown, he vanishes away; but the houses of the just remain.
Haringana ny ratsy fanahy ka tsy ho ao intsony; Fa ny mpianakavin’ ny marina haharitra.
8 The mouth of an understanding [man] is praised by a man; but he that is dull of heart is had in derision.
Araka ny fahendren’ ny olona no hiderana azy; Fa izay meloka am-po dia hatao tsinontsinona.
9 Better is a man in dishonour serving himself, than one honouring himself and wanting bread.
Aleo ambany toetra, nefa manana mpanompo iray, Toy izay mihambo ho be voninahitra, nefa tsy manan-kohanina akory.
10 A righteous man has pity for the lives of his cattle; but the bowels of the ungodly are unmerciful.
Ny marina mitsimbina ny ain’ ny bibiny; Fa fahasiahana kosa no famindram-pon’ ny ratsy fanahy;
11 He that tills his own land shall be satisfied with bread; but they that pursue vanities are void of understanding. He that enjoys himself in banquets of wine, shall leave dishonour in his own strong holds.
Izay miasa ny taniny dia ho voky hanina; Fa izay manaraka ny olom-poana dia tsy ampy saina.
12 The desires of the ungodly are evil; but the roots of the godly are firmly set.
Ny mpanota maniry ny hazan’ ny ratsy fanahy; Fa ny fakan’ ny marina mitrebona.
13 For the sin of [his] lips a sinner falls into snare; but a righteous man escapes from them. He whose looks are gentle shall be pitied, but he that contends in the gates will afflict souls.
Amin’ ny fahotan’ ny molotra dia misy fandrika ahitan-doza; Fa ny marina ho afaka amin’ ny fahoriana.
14 The soul of a man shall be filled with good from the fruits of his mouth; and the recompence of his lips shall be given to him.
Ny vokatry ny vavan’ ny olona no mahavoky soa azy, Ary ny asan’ ny tànany hitsingerina aminy.
15 The ways of fools are right in their own eyes; but a wise man hearkens to counsels.
Ny lalan’ ny adala dia mahitsy eo imasony; Fa izay mino anatra no hendry.
16 A fool declares his wrath the same day; but a prudent man hides his own disgrace.
Ny fahasosoran’ ny adala dia fantatra miaraka amin’ izay; Fa izay mahatsindry fo amin’ ny fanalam-baraka no hendry.
17 A righteous man declares the open truth; but an unjust witness is deceitful.
Izay olona mahatoky dia manambara ny rariny; Fa ny vavolombelona mandainga kosa miteny fitaka.
18 Some wound as they speak, [like] swords; but the tongues of the wise heal.
Misy mandefalefa teny tsy tsaroana ka tonga toy ny fanindron’ ny sabatra; Fa ny lelan’ ny marina dia fanasitranana kosa.
19 True lips establish testimony; but a hasty witness has an unjust tongue.
Ny molotra marina ampitoerina ho mandrakizay; Fa ny lela mandainga dia indray mipi-maso monja.
20 [There is] deceit in the heart of him that imagines evil; but they that love peace shall rejoice.
Fitaka no ao am-pon’ izay mamoron-tsain-dratsy; Fa hafaliana no amin’ izay misaina fiadanana.
21 No injustice will please a just man; but the ungodly will be filled with mischief.
Tsy misy ratsy manjo ny marina; Fa heni-doza ny ratsy fanahy.
22 Lying lips are a abomination to the Lord; but he that deals faithfully is accepted with him.
Fahavetavetana eo imason’ i Jehovah ny molotra mandainga; Fa izay olona mahatoky no ankasitrahany.
23 An understanding man is a throne of wisdom; but the heart of fools shall meet with curses.
Ny olon-kendry tsy mba mampideradera fahalalana foana; Fa ny fon’ ny adala mamoaka fahadalana.
24 The hand of chosen men shall easily obtain rule; but the deceitful shall be for a prey.
Ny tanan’ ny mazoto no hanapaka; Fa izay miraviravy tanana dia hampanompoina.
25 A terrible word troubles the heart of a righteous man; but a good message rejoices him.
Ny alahelo ao am-pon’ ny olona dia mampitanondrika azy; Fa ny teny soa no mahafaly azy.
26 A just arbitrator shall be his own friend; but mischief shall pursue sinners; and the way of ungodly men shall lead them astray.
Ny marina dia mitari-dalana ny namany; Fa ny alehan’ ny ratsy fanahy kosa no mampivily azy.
27 A deceitful man shall catch no game; but a blameless man is a precious possession.
Ny kamo tsy mety mihaza; Fa fananana soa ho an’ ny olona ny zoto.
28 In the ways of righteousness is life; but the ways of those that remember injuries [lead] to death.
Amin’ ny lalan’ ny fahamarinana no misy fiainana, Ary ny tsi-fahafatesana no lalan-kalehany.
