Numbers 23

1 And Balaam said to Balac, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven calves, and seven rams.

൧അനന്തരം ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോട്: “ഇവിടെ ഏഴ് യാഗപീഠം പണിത്, ഏഴ് കാളയെയും ഏഴ് ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും എനിക്കായി ഒരുക്കിനിർത്തുക” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

2 And Balac did as Balaam told him; and he offered up a calf and a ram on [every] altar.

൨ബിലെയാം പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ബാലാക്ക് ചെയ്തു; ബാലാക്കും ബിലെയാമും ഓരോ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ ഒരോ കാളയെയും ഒരോ ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും വീതം യാഗം കഴിച്ചു;

3 And Balaam said to Balac, Stand by thy sacrifice, and I will go and see if God will appear to me and meet me, and the word which he shall shew me, I will report to thee. And Balac stood by his sacrifice.

൩പിന്നെ ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോട്: “നിന്റെ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നില്ക്കുക; ഞാൻ അങ്ങോട്ട് ചെല്ലട്ടെ; പക്ഷേ യഹോവ എനിക്ക് പ്രത്യക്ഷനാകും; അവിടുന്ന് എനിക്ക് എന്ത് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നുവോ അത് ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് അറിയിക്കും” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് കുന്നിന്മേൽ കയറി.

4 And Balaam went to enquire of God; and he went straight forward, and God appeared to Balaam; and Balaam said to him, I have prepared the seven altars, and have offered a calf and a ram on [every] altar.

൪ദൈവം ബിലെയാമിന് പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി; ബിലെയാം അവനോട്: “ഞാൻ ഏഴ് യാഗപീഠം ഒരുക്കി ഓരോന്നിലും ഓരോ കാളയെയും ഓരോ ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

5 And God put a word into the mouth of Balaam, and said, thou shalt return to Balac, and thus shalt thou speak.

൫അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ ഒരു വചനം ബിലെയാമിന്റെ നാവിൽ കൊടുത്തു: “നീ ബാലാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്ന് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയണം” എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു.

6 And he returned to him, and moreover he stood over his whole-burnt-offerings, and all the princes of Moab with him; and the Spirit of God came upon him.

൬അവൻ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു; അവനും മോവാബ്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ എല്ലാവരും ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നില്ക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

7 And he took up his parable, and said, Balac king of Moab sent for me out of Mesopotamia, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and Come, call for a curse for me upon Israel.

൭അപ്പോൾ ബിലെയാം സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിത്തുടങ്ങിയത്: “ബാലാക്ക് എന്നെ അരാമിൽനിന്നും മോവാബ്‌രാജാവ് പൂർവ്വപർവ്വതങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും വരുത്തി: ‘ചെന്ന് യാക്കോബിനെ ശപിക്കുക; ചെന്ന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ പ്രാകുക’ എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

8 How can I curse whom the Lord curses not? or how can I devote whom God devotes not?

൮ദൈവം ശപിക്കാത്തവനെ ഞാൻ എങ്ങനെ ശപിക്കും? യഹോവ പ്രാകാത്തവനെ ഞാൻ എങ്ങനെ പ്രാകും?

9 For from the top of the mountains I shall see him, and from the hills I shall observe him: behold, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.

൯ശിലാഗ്രങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് ഞാൻ അവനെ കാണുന്നു; ഗിരികളിൽനിന്ന് ഞാൻ അവനെ ദർശിക്കുന്നു; ഇതാ തനിച്ചുപാർക്കുന്നോരു ജനം; ജാതികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെടുന്നതുമില്ല.

10 Who has exactly calculated the seed of Jacob, and who shall number the families of Israel? let my soul die with the souls of the righteous, and let my seed be as their seed.

൧൦യാക്കോബിന്റെ പൊടിയെ ആർക്ക് എണ്ണാം? യിസ്രായേലിൽ കാൽ അംശത്തെ ആർക്ക് ഗണിക്കാം? ഭക്തന്മാർ മരിക്കും പോലെ ഞാൻ മരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ അവസാനം അവന്റേതുപോലെ ആകട്ടെ.

11 And Balac said to Balaam, What hast thou done to me? I called thee to curse my enemies, and behold thou hast greatly blessed [them].

൧൧ബാലാക്ക് ബിലെയാമിനോട്: “നീ എന്നോട് ഈ ചെയ്തത് എന്ത്? എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ ശപിക്കുവാനല്ലയോ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വരുത്തിയത്? നീയോ അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുകയത്രേ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

12 And Balaam said to Balac, Whatsoever the Lord shall put into my mouth, shall I not take heed to speak this?

൧൨അതിന് അവൻ: “യഹോവ എന്റെ നാവിന്മേൽ തന്നത് പറയുവാൻ ഞാൻ ബദ്ധശ്രദ്ധനാകേണ്ടയോ?” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

13 And Balac said to him, Come yet with me to another place where thou shalt not see the people, but only thou shalt see a part of them, and shalt not see them all; and curse me them from thence.

൧൩ബാലാക്ക് അവനോട്: “നീ അവരെ മറ്റൊരു സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്ന് കാണേണ്ടതിന് എന്നോടുകൂടെ വരിക; എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ ഒരംശം മാത്രമല്ലാതെ എല്ലാവരെയും കാണുകയില്ല; അവിടെനിന്ന് അവരെ ശപിക്കണം” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

14 And he took him to a high place of the field to the top of the quarried [rock], and he built there seven altars, and offered a calf and a ram on [every] altar.

൧൪ഇങ്ങനെ അവൻ പിസ്ഗകൊടുമുടിയിൽ സോഫീം എന്ന മുകൾപ്പരപ്പിലേക്ക് അവനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി ഏഴ് യാഗപീഠം പണിത് ഓരോന്നിലും ഓരോ കാളയെയും ഓരോ ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു.

15 And Balaam said to Balac, Stand by thy sacrifice, and I will go to enquire of God.

൧൫പിന്നെ അവൻ ബാലാക്കിനോട്: “ഇവിടെ നിന്റെ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നില്ക്കുക; ഞാൻ അങ്ങോട്ട് ചെന്ന് കാണട്ടെ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

16 And God met Balaam, and put a word into his mouth, and said, return to Balac, and thus shalt thou speak.

൧൬യഹോവ ബിലെയാമിന് പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി അവന്റെ നാവിന്മേൽ ഒരു വചനം കൊടുത്തു: “ബാലാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്ന് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുക” എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു.

17 And he returned to him: and he also was standing by his whole-burnt-sacrifice, and all the princes of Moab with him; and Balac said to him, What has the Lord spoken?

൧൭അവൻ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ ബാലാക്ക് മോവാബ്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടുകൂടെ തന്റെ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നിന്നിരുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ ബാലാക്ക് അവനോട്: “യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത് എന്ത്” എന്ന് ചോദിച്ചു.

18 And he took up his parable, and said, rise up, Balac, and hear; hearken as a witness, thou son of Sepphor.

൧൮അവൻ സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിത്തുടങ്ങിയത്: “ബാലാക്കേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റ് കേൾക്കുക; സിപ്പോരിന്റെ പുത്രാ, എനിക്ക് ചെവിതരുക.

19 God is not as man to waver, nor as the son of man to be threatened; shall he say and not perform? shall he speak and not keep [to his word]?

൧൯വ്യാജം പറയുവാൻ ദൈവം മനുഷ്യനല്ല; അനുതപിക്കുവാൻ അവിടുന്ന് മനുഷ്യപുത്രനുമല്ല; അവിടുന്ന് കല്പിച്ചത് ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കുമോ? അവിടുന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത് നിവർത്തിക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ?

20 Behold, I have received [commandment] to bless: I will bless, and not turn back.

൨൦അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുവാൻ എനിക്ക് കല്പന ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവിടുന്ന് അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്ക് അത് മറിച്ചുകൂടാ.

21 There shall not be trouble in Jacob, neither shall sorrow be seen in Israel: the Lord his God [is] with him, the glories of rulers [are] in him.

൨൧യാക്കോബിൽ തിന്മ കാണുവാനില്ല; യിസ്രായേലിൽ കഷ്ടത ദർശിക്കുവാനുമില്ല; അവന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവനോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; രാജകോലാഹലം അവരുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഉണ്ട്.

22 It was God who brought him out of Egypt; he has as it were the glory of a unicorn.

൨൨ദൈവം അവരെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ നിന്ന് കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു; കാട്ടുപോത്തിനു തുല്യമായ ബലം അവനുണ്ട്.

23 For there is no divination in Jacob, nor enchantment in Israel; in season it shall be told to Jacob and Israel what God shall perform.

൨൩യിസ്രായേലിനെതിരെ പ്രയോഗിക്കുവാൻ ആഭിചാരമോ കൺകെട്ട് വിദ്യയോ ഇല്ല; ലക്ഷണവിദ്യ യിസ്രായേലിനോട് ഫലിക്കുകയുമില്ല; ഇപ്പോൾ യാക്കോബിനെക്കുറിച്ചും യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചും: ദൈവം എന്തെല്ലാം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നേ പറയാവു.

24 Behold, the people shall rise up as a lion's whelp, and shall exalt himself as a lion; he shall not lie down till he have eaten the prey, and he shall drink the blood of the slain.

൨൪ഇതാ, ജനം സിംഹിയെപ്പോലെ എഴുന്നേല്ക്കുന്നു; ബാലസിംഹത്തെപ്പോലെ സട കുടഞ്ഞ് എഴുന്നേറ്റു നില്ക്കുന്നു; അവൻ ഇര പിടിച്ച് തിന്നാതെയും നിഹതന്മാരുടെ രക്തം കുടിക്കാതെയും കിടക്കുകയില്ല.

25 And Balac said to Balaam, Neither curse the people at all for me, nor bless them at all.

൨൫അപ്പോൾ ബാലാക്ക് ബിലെയാമിനോട്: “അവരെ ശപിക്കുകയും വേണ്ടാ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും വേണ്ടാ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

26 And Balaam answered and said to Balac, Spoke I not to thee, saying, Whatsoever thing God shall speak to me, that will I do?

൨൬ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോട്: “യഹോവ കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും ഞാൻ ചെയ്യും എന്ന് നിന്നോട് പറഞ്ഞില്ലയോ” എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

27 And Balac said to Balaam, Come [and] I will remove thee to another place, if it shall please God, and curse me them from thence.

൨൭ബാലാക്ക് ബിലെയാമിനോട്: “വരുക, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ മറ്റൊരു സ്ഥലത്ത് കൊണ്ടുപോകും; അവിടെനിന്ന് നീ എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി അവരെ ശപിക്കുവാൻ ദൈവത്തിന് പക്ഷേ സമ്മതമാകും” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

28 And Balac took Balaam to the top of Phogor, which extends to the wilderness.

൨൮അങ്ങനെ ബാലാക്ക് ബിലെയാമിനെ മരുഭൂമിക്ക് എതിരെയുള്ള പെയോർമലയുടെ മുകളിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

29 And Balaam said to Balac, build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven calves, and seven rams.

൨൯ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോട്: “ഇവിടെ എനിക്ക് ഏഴ് യാഗപീഠം പണിത് ഏഴു കാളയെയും ഏഴു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും ഒരുക്കിനിർത്തുക” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

30 And Balac did as Balaam told him, and offered a calf and a ram on [every] altar.

൩൦ബിലെയാം പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ബാലാക്ക് ചെയ്തു; ഓരോ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേലും ഒരു കാളയെയും ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു.
