Michaeas 3
1 And he shall say, Hear now these words, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and ye remnant of the house of Israel; is it not for you to know judgment?
Et j’ai dit: Ecoutez, princes de Jacob, et chefs de la maison d’Israël: N’est-ce pas à vous de connaître ce qui est juste,
2 [who] hate good, and seek evil; [who] tear their skins off them, and their flesh off their bones:
Vous qui avez en haine le bien et qui aimez le mal; vous qui enlevez violemment leur peau de dessus eux et leur chair de dessus leurs os?
3 even as they devoured the flesh of my people, and stripped their skins off them, and broke their bones, and divided [them] as flesh for the caldron, and as meat for the pot,
Qui ont mangé la chair de mon peuple, et ont arraché leur peau, brisé leurs os, et ils les ont coupés en morceaux comme pour les faire cuire dans une chaudière, et comme de la chair qu’on met dans une marmite.
4 thus they shall cry to the Lord, but he shall not hearken to them; and he shall turn away his face from them at that time, because they have done wickedly in their practices against themselves.
Alors ils crieront vers le Seigneur; mais il ne les exaucera pas; et il leur cachera sa face en ce temps-là, à cause de la malice de leurs inventions.
5 Thus saith the Lord concerning the prophets that lead my people astray, that bit with their teeth, and proclaim peace to them; and [when] nothing was put into their mouth, they raised up war against them:
Voici ce que dit le Seigneur contre les prophètes qui séduisent mon peuple; qui mordent avec leurs dents, et prêchent la paix; si quelqu’un ne leur met pas dans la bouche quelque chose, ils consacrent contre lui un combat.
6 therefore there shall be night to you instead of a vision, and there shall be to you darkness instead of prophecy; and the sun shall go down upon the prophets, and the day shall be dark upon them.
À cause de cela, vous aurez pour vision une nuit, et des ténèbres pour révélation; et le soleil se couchera pour les prophètes, et le jour se couvrira de ténèbres pour eux.
7 And the seers of night-visions shall be ashamed, and the prophets shall be laughed to scorn: and all the people shall speak against them, because there shall be none to hearken to them.
Et ceux qui voient des visions seront confondus, les devins seront confondus; et tous se voileront le visage, parce qu’il n’y a pas de réponse de Dieu.
8 Surely I will strengthen myself with the Spirit of the Lord, and of judgment, and of power, to declare to Jacob his transgressions, and to Israel his sins.
Mais cependant moi j’ai été rempli de la force de l’esprit du Seigneur, de sa justice et de sa vertu, afin que j’annonce à Jacob son crime et à Israël son pèche.
9 Hear now these words, ye chiefs of the house of Jacob, and the remnant of the house of Israel, who hate judgment, and pervert all righteousness;
Ecoutez ceci, princes de la maison de Jacob, et juges de la maison d’Israël, vous qui abominez le jugement et pervertissez tout ce qui est juste;
10 who build up Sion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.
Qui bâtissez Sion avec du sang, et Jérusalem avec l’iniquité.
11 The heads thereof have judged for gifts, and the priests thereof have answered for hire, and her prophets have divined for silver: and [yet] they have rested on the Lord, saying, Is not the Lord among us? no evil shall come upon us.
Ses princes jugeaient pour des présents, et ses prêtres enseignaient pour un salaire, et ses prophètes prédisaient pour de l’argent; et ils se reposaient sur le Seigneur, disant: Est-ce que le Seigneur n’est pas au milieu de nous? Les maux ne viendront pas sur nous.
12 Therefore on your account Sion shall be ploughed as a field, and Jerusalem shall be as a storehouse of fruits, and the mountain of the house as a grove of the forest.
C’est pour cela qu’à cause de vous, Sion comme un champ sera labourée, et que Jérusalem sera comme un monceau de pierres, et la montagne du temple une haute forêt.
