< Lamentations 5 >
1 Remember, O Lord, what has happened to us: behold, and look on our reproach.
Jehovah ô, tsarovy izay nanjo anay; Hevero sy diniho ny latsa mahazo anay.
2 Our inheritance has been turned away to aliens, our houses to strangers:
Ny lovanay dia afindra ho an’ ny vahiny ary ny tranonay ho an’ ny hafa firenena.
3 we are become orphans, we have no father, our mothers are as widows.
Efa kamboty izahay ka tsy manan-dray, ny reninay dia toy ny mpitondra-tena.
4 We have drunk our water for money; our wood is sold to us [for a burden] on our neck:
Na dia ny loharanonay aza dia andoavanay vola vao azonay isotroana, ary ny kitay hazonay dia vidinay vao azo.
5 we have been persecuted, we have laboured, we have had no rest.
Rambondrambonan’ ny mpanenjika amin’ ny hatokay izahay; Reraka izahay fa tsy manam-pitsaharana.
6 Egypt gave the hand [to us], Assur to their own satisfaction.
Nanolo-tanana tamin’ ny Egyptiana sy ny Asyriana izahay mba ho voky hanina.
7 Our fathers sinned, [and] are not: we have borne their iniquities.
Nanota ny razanay tsy etỳ intsony izy; Ary izahay no mivesatra ny helony.
8 Servants have ruled over us: there is none to ransom [us] out of their hand.
Andevo no manapaka anay; Tsy misy manafaka anay amin’ ny tànany.
9 We shall bring in our bread with [danger of] our lives, because of the sword of the wilderness.
Noho ny sabatra mamely any an-efitra dia manao vy very ny ainay izahay vao mahazo hanina.
10 Our skin is blackened like an oven; they are convulsed, because of the storms of famine.
Mahamay toy ny fatana ny hodi-tray noho ny fahamaimaizana avy amin’ ny mosary.
11 They humbled the women in Sion, the virgins in the cities of Juda.
Nosavihina ny vehivavy tao Ziona ary ny virijina tao amin’ ny tanànan’ ny Joda.
12 Princes were hanged up by their hands: the elders were not honoured.
Nahantona tamin’ ny tànany ny lehibe; Ary ny antitra tsy mba nohajaina.
13 The chosen men lifted up [the voice in] weeping, and the youths fainted under the wood.
Ny zatovo nitondra ny fikosoham-bary; Ary ny ankizy madinika nivembena nitondra ny hazo.
14 And the elders ceased from the gate, the chosen men ceased from their music.
Ny loholona tsy misy eo am-bavahady, ary ny zatovo tsy mitendry zava-maneno intsony.
15 The joy of our heart has ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
Ny hafalian’ ny fonay dia nitsahatra, ary ny dihinay niova ho fitomaniana.
16 The crown has fallen [from] our head: yea, woe to us! for we have sinned.
Efa afaka ny satro-boninahitra tamin’ ny lohanay; Idiran-doza izahay, fa efa nanota!
17 For this has grief come; our heart is sorrowful: for this our eyes are darkened.
Ary noho izany dia reraka ny fonay, eny, noho izany dia maizina ny masonay,
18 Over the mountain of Sion, because it is made desolate, foxes have walked therein.
Noho ny amin’ ny tendrombohitra Ziona, izay efa lao sady ikarenjen’ ny amboahaolo.
19 But thou, O Lord, shalt dwell for ever; thy throne [shall endure] to generation and generation.
Jehovah ô, ianao no mipetraka mandrakizay, eny, ny seza fiandriananao no maharitra hatramin’ ny taranaka fara mandimby.
20 Wherefore wilt thou utterly forget us, and abandon us a long time?
Ahoana no dia anadinoanao anay mandrakizay sy ahafoizanao anay andro lava?
21 Turn us, O Lord, to thee, and we shall be turned; and renew our days as before.
Jehovah ô, ampivereno aminao izahay, mba hiverenanay; Havaozy ho toy ny fahiny ny andronay.
22 For thou hast indeed rejected us; thou hast been very wroth against us.
Moa dia nandà anay tokoa va Hianao sy tezitra aminay indrindra?
