< Job 40 >

1 And the Lord God answered Job, and said,
Olúwa dá Jobu lóhùn sí pẹ̀lú, ó sì wí pé,
2 Will [any one] pervert judgment with the Mighty One? and he that reproves God, let him return it for answer.
“Ẹni tí ń bá Olódùmarè wíjọ́ yóò ha kọ ní ẹ̀kọ́? Ẹni tí ń bá Ọlọ́run wí jẹ́ kí ó dáhùn!”
3 And Job answered and said to the Lord,
Nígbà náà ni Jobu dá Olúwa lóhùn wá ó sì wí pé,
4 Why do I yet plead? being rebuked even while reproving the Lord: hearing such things, whereas I am nothing: and what shall I answer to these [arguments]? I will lay my hand upon my mouth.
“Kíyèsi i, ẹ̀gbin ni èmi—ohun kí ni èmi ó dà? Èmi ó fi ọwọ́ mi le ẹnu mi.
5 I have spoken once; but I will not do so a second time.
Ẹ̀ẹ̀kan ní mo sọ̀rọ̀, ṣùgbọ́n èmi kì yóò tún sọ mọ́; lẹ́ẹ̀kejì ni, èmi kò sì le ṣe é mọ́.”
6 And the Lord yet again answered and spoke to Job out of the cloud, [saying],
Nígbà náà ní Olúwa dá Jobu lóhùn láti inú ìjì àyíká wá, ó sì wí pé,
7 Nay, gird up now thy loins like a man; and I will ask thee, and do thou answer me.
“Di àmùrè gírí ní ẹgbẹ́ rẹ bí ọkùnrin, èmi ó bi ọ léèrè, kí ìwọ kí ó sì dá mi lóhùn.
8 Do not set aside my judgment: and dost thou think that I have dealt with thee in any other way, than that thou mightest appear to be righteous?
“Ìwọ ha fẹ́ mú ìdájọ́ mi di asán? Ìwọ ó sì dá mi lẹ́bi, kí ìwọ lè ṣe olódodo.
9 Hast thou an arm like the Lord's? or dost thou thunder with a voice like his?
Ìwọ ni apá bí Ọlọ́run tàbí ìwọ lè fi ohùn sán àrá bí òun?
10 Assume now a lofty bearing and power; and clothe thyself with glory and honour.
Fi ọláńlá àti ọlá ìtayọ rẹ̀ ṣe ara rẹ ní ọ̀ṣọ́, tí ó sì fi ògo àti títóbi ọ̀ṣọ́ bo ara ní aṣọ.
11 And send forth messengers with wrath; and lay low every haughty one.
Mú ìrunú ìbínú rẹ jáde; kíyèsí gbogbo ìwà ìgbéraga rẹ kí o sì rẹ̀ ẹ́ sílẹ̀.
12 Bring down also the proud man; and consume at once the ungodly.
Wo gbogbo ìwà ìgbéraga, ènìyàn kí o sì rẹ ẹ sílẹ̀ kí o sì tẹ ènìyàn búburú mọ́lẹ̀ ní ipò wọn.
13 And hide them together in the earth; and fill their faces with shame.
Sin gbogbo wọn papọ̀ nínú erùpẹ̀, kí o sì di ojú ìkọ̀kọ̀ wọn ní isà òkú.
14 [Then] will I confess that thy right hand can save [thee].
Nígbà náà ní èmi ó yìn ọ́ pé, ọwọ́ ọ̀tún ara rẹ lè gbà ọ́ là.
15 But now look at the wild beasts with thee; they eat grass like oxen.
“Ǹjẹ́ nísinsin yìí kíyèsi Behemoti, tí mo dá pẹ̀lú rẹ, òun a máa jẹ koríko bí ọ̀dá màlúù.
16 Behold now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
Wò o nísinsin yìí, agbára rẹ wà ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ rẹ, àti ipa rẹ nínú ìṣàn ìkún rẹ.
17 He sets up his tail like a cypress; and his nerves are wrapped together.
Òun a máa jù ìrù rẹ̀ bí i igi kedari, iṣan itan rẹ̀ dìjọ pọ̀.
18 His sides are sides of brass; and his backbone is [as] cast iron.
Egungun rẹ̀ ní ògùṣọ̀ idẹ, Egungun rẹ̀ dàbí ọ̀pá irin.
19 This is the chief of the creation of the Lord; made to be played with by his angels.
Òun ni olórí nínú àwọn iṣẹ́ Ọlọ́run; síbẹ̀ Ẹlẹ́dàá rẹ̀ fi idà rẹ̀ lé e lọ́wọ́.
20 And when he has gone up to a steep mountain, he causes joy to the quadrupeds in the deep.
Nítòótọ́ òkè ńlá ńlá ní i mu ohun jíjẹ fún un wá, níbi tí gbogbo ẹranko igbó máa ṣiré ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ ibẹ̀.
21 He lies under trees of every kind, by the papyrus, and reed, and bulrush.
Ó dùbúlẹ̀ lábẹ́ igi lótusì, lábẹ́ eèsún àti ẹrẹ̀.
22 And the great trees make a shadow over him with their branches, and [so do] the bushes of the field.
Igi lótusì síji wọn bò o; igi arọrọ odò yí i káàkiri.
23 If there should be a flood, he will not perceive it; he trust that Jordan will rush up into his mouth.
Kíyèsi i, odò ńlá sàn jọjọ, òun kò sálọ; ó wà láìléwu bí ó bá ṣe pé odò Jordani ti ṣàn lọ sí ẹnu rẹ̀.
24 [Yet one] shall take him in his sight; [one] shall catch [him] with a cord, and pierce his nose.
Ẹnìkan ha lè mú un ní ojú rẹ̀, tàbí dẹkùn fún tàbí a máa fi ọ̀kọ̀ gún imú rẹ̀?
