Job 4
1 Then Eliphaz the Thaemanite answered and said,
അപ്പോൾ തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫാസ് ഇപ്രകാരം ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു:
2 Hast thou been often spoken to in distress? but who shall endure the force of thy words?
“നിന്നോട് ആരെങ്കിലും ഒരു വാക്കു സംസാരിക്കാൻ തുനിഞ്ഞാൽ നീ അക്ഷമനാകുമോ? എന്നാൽ ആർക്കു സംസാരിക്കാതിരിക്കാൻ കഴിയും?
3 For whereas thou hast instructed many, and hast strengthened the hands of the weak one,
നീ ധാരാളംപേരെ ഉദ്ബോധിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്; ശക്തിക്ഷയിച്ച കൈകളെ നീ ബലപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുള്ളതും ഓർക്കുക.
4 and hast supported the failing with words, and hast imparted courage to feeble knees.
ഇടറുന്നവരെ നിന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ ഉറപ്പിച്ചുനിർത്തി; ദുർബലമായ കാൽമുട്ടുകൾക്കു നീ ബലം പകർന്നു.
5 Yet now [that] pain has come upon thee, and touched thee, thou art troubled.
ഇപ്പോഴിതാ, ദുരന്തം നിന്നെ വേട്ടയാടിയിരിക്കുന്നു, നിന്റെ ധൈര്യം ചോർന്നുപോകുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു നിന്നെ ആഞ്ഞടിച്ചപ്പോൾ നീ പരിഭ്രാന്തനായിരിക്കുന്നു.
6 Is not thy fear [founded] in folly, thy hope also, and the mischief of thy way?
നിന്റെ ദൈവഭക്തി നിനക്ക് ആത്മവിശ്വാസം നൽകുന്നില്ലേ? നിന്റെ നിർമലമാർഗങ്ങളല്ലേ നിനക്കു പ്രത്യാശ നൽകുന്നത്?
7 Remember then who has perished, being pure? or when were the true-hearted utterly destroyed?
“ഓർത്തുനോക്കുക: നിഷ്കളങ്കരായ ആരെങ്കിലും നശിച്ചുപോയിട്ടുണ്ടോ? പരമാർഥികൾ എപ്പോഴെങ്കിലും മുടിഞ്ഞുപോയിട്ടുണ്ടോ?
8 Accordingly as I have seen men ploughing barren places, and they that sow them will reap sorrows for themselves.
എന്റെ നിരീക്ഷണത്തിൽ, അനീതി ഉഴുകയും ദോഷം വിതയ്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവർ അതുതന്നെ കൊയ്തുകൂട്ടുന്നു.
9 They shall perish by the command of the Lord, and shall be utterly consumed by the breath of his wrath.
ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നിശ്വാസത്താൽ അവർ നശിക്കുന്നു; അവിടത്തെ കോപാഗ്നിയിൽ അവർ വെന്തുവെണ്ണീറാകുന്നു.
10 The strength of the lion, and the voice of the lioness, and the exulting cry of serpents are quenched.
സിംഹം അലറുകയും മുരളുകയും ചെയ്തേക്കാം, എന്നിട്ടും ഭീകരസിംഹങ്ങളുടെ ദംഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾ തകർക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
11 The old lion has perished for want of food, and the lions' whelps have forsaken one another.
സിംഹം ഇര കിട്ടായ്കയാൽ നശിച്ചുപോകുകയും സിംഹിയുടെ കുട്ടികൾ ചിതറിപ്പോകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
12 But if there had been any truth in thy words, none of these evils would have befallen thee. Shall not mine ear receive excellent [revelations] from him?
“ഇപ്പോൾ ഒരു വാർത്ത രഹസ്യമായി എന്റെ ചെവിയിലെത്തി; അതിന്റെ മന്ത്രണം എന്റെ കാതുകളിൽ പതിച്ചു.
13 But [as when] terror falls upon men, with dread and a sound in the night,
രാത്രിയിൽ അസ്വസ്ഥചിന്തകൾ ഉളവാക്കുന്ന സ്വപ്നങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ, മനുഷ്യർ ഗാഢനിദ്രയിൽ ആണ്ടുപോകുന്ന നേരത്തുതന്നെ,
14 horror and trembling seized me, and caused all my bones greatly to shake.
ഭീതിയും നടുക്കവും എന്നെ പിടികൂടി; എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളെയെല്ലാം അതു പിടിച്ചുകുലുക്കി.
15 And a spirit came before my face; and my hair and flesh quivered.
ഒരാത്മാവ് എന്റെ മുഖത്തുകൂടി തെന്നിമാറി; എന്റെ ശരീരം രോമാഞ്ചമണിഞ്ഞു.
16 I arose and perceived it not: I looked, and there, was no form before my eyes: but I only heard a breath and a voice, [saying],
അതു നിശ്ചലമായി നിന്നു; എങ്കിലും ആ രൂപം എന്താണെന്നു തിരിച്ചറിയാൻ എനിക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല. ഒരു രൂപം എന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾക്കുമുമ്പിൽ നിലകൊണ്ടു; നിശ്ശബ്ദതയിൽ ഞാൻ ഒരു പതിഞ്ഞസ്വരം കേട്ടു:
17 What, shall a mortal be pure before the Lord? or a man be blameless in regard to his works?
‘മർത്യനു ദൈവത്തെക്കാൾ നീതിമാനാകാൻ കഴിയുമോ? തന്റെ സ്രഷ്ടാവിനെക്കാൾ നിർമലനാകാൻ ഒരു മനുഷ്യനു സാധിക്കുമോ?
18 Whereas he trust not in his servants, and perceives perverseness in his angels.
ദൈവം തന്റെ സേവകരിൽ വിശ്വാസം അർപ്പിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ; തന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരിൽ അങ്ങ് കുറ്റമാരോപിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ,
19 But [as for] them that dwell in houses of clay, of whom we also are formed of the same clay, he smites them like a moth.
മൺകൂടാരങ്ങളിൽ വസിക്കുന്നവർ, പൊടിയിൽനിന്ന് ഉദ്ഭവിച്ചവർ, നിശാശലഭത്തെക്കാൾ വേഗത്തിൽ ചവിട്ടിയരയ്ക്കപ്പെടുന്നവർ എത്രയധികം കുറ്റക്കാരായിരിക്കും!
20 And from the morning to evening they no longer exist: they have perished, because they cannot help themselves.
ഉഷസ്സിനും സായംസന്ധ്യക്കും മധ്യേ അവർ ഛിന്നഭിന്നമാകുന്നു; അഗണ്യരായി, അവർ എന്നെന്നേക്കുമായി അപ്രത്യക്ഷരാകുന്നു.
21 For he blows upon them, and they are withered: they have perished for lack of wisdom.
അവരുടെ ജീവതന്തു അവർക്കുള്ളിൽത്തന്നെ അറ്റുപോകുകയല്ലേ? അവർ ജ്ഞാനം പ്രാപിക്കാതെ മരിക്കുകയല്ലേ ചെയ്യുന്നത്?’
