Job 25

1 Then Baldad the Sauchite answered and said,

Então Bildade, o suíta, respondeu, dizendo:

2 What beginning or fear is his—even he that makes all things in the highest?

O domínio e o temor estão com ele; ele faz paz em suas alturas.

3 For let none think that there is a respite for robbers: and upon whom will there not come a snare from him?

Por acaso suas tropas têm número? E sobre quem não se levanta sua luz?

4 For how shall a mortal be just before the Lord? or who that is born of a woman shall purify himself?

Como, pois, o ser humano seria justo para com Deus? E como seria puro aquele que nasce de mulher?

5 If he gives an order to the moon, then it shines not; and the stars are not pure before him.

Eis que até a luz não tem brilho; nem as estrelas são puras diante de seus olhos.

6 But alas! man is corruption, and the son of man a worm.

Quanto menos o ser humano, que é uma larva, e o filho de homem, que é um verme.
