Job 16
1 But Job answered and said,
পরে ইয়োব উত্তর দিলেন:
2 I have heard many such things: poor comforters are ye all.
“আমি এই ধরনের অনেক কথা শুনেছি; তোমরা শোচনীয় সান্ত্বনাকারী, তোমরা সবাই!
3 What! is there any reason in vain words? or what will hinder thee from answering?
তোমাদের এইসব দীর্ঘ এলোমেলো বক্তৃতা কি কখনও শেষ হবে না? তোমাদের কী এমন কষ্ট যে তোমরা তর্ক করেই যাচ্ছ?
4 I also will speak as ye [do]: if indeed your soul were in my [soul's] stead, then would I insult you with words, and I would shake my head at you.
আমিও তোমাদের মতো কথা বলতে পারতাম, যদি তোমরা আমার জায়গায় থাকতে; আমিও তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে সুন্দর সুন্দর বক্তৃতা দিতে পারতাম ও তোমাদের দেখে মাথা নাড়াতে পারতাম।
5 And would there were strength in my mouth, and I would not spare the movement of my lips.
কিন্তু আমার মুখ তোমাদের উৎসাহ দেবে; আমার ঠোঁট থেকে সান্ত্বনা বের হয়ে তোমাদের যন্ত্রণার উপশম করবে।
6 For if I should speak, I shall not feel the pain of my wound: and if I should be silent, how shall I be wounded the less?
“তবুও আমি যদি কথা বলি, আমার ব্যথার উপশম হয় না; ও আমি যদি নীরব থাকি, তাও তা যায় না।
7 But now he has made me weary, and a worn-out fool; and thou hast laid hold of me.
হে ঈশ্বর, নিশ্চয় তুমি আমাকে নিঃশেষিত করে দিয়েছ; তুমি আমার সমগ্র পরিবারকে বিধ্বস্ত করে দিয়েছ।
8 My falsehood has become a testimony, and has risen up against me: it has confronted me to my face.
তুমি আমাকে কুঁকড়ে দিয়েছ—ও তা এক সাক্ষী হয়েছে; আমার শীর্ণতা উঠে দাঁড়িয়ে আমার বিরুদ্ধে সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছে।
9 In his anger he has cast me down; he has gnashed his teeth upon me: the weapons of his robbers have fallen upon me.
ঈশ্বর আমাকে আক্রমণ করে তাঁর ক্রোধে আমাকে ছিন্নভিন্ন করে দিয়েছেন ও আমার প্রতি দাঁত কড়মড় করেছেন; আমার প্রতিপক্ষ তাঁর তীক্ষ্ণ দৃষ্টি দিয়ে আমাকে আক্রমণ করেছেন।
10 He has attacked me with the keen glances of his eyes; with his sharp [spear] he has smitten me [down] upon my knees; and they have run upon me with one accord.
আমাকে বিদ্রুপ করার জন্য লোকেরা তাদের মুখ খুলেছে; অবজ্ঞাভরে তারা আমার গালে চড় মেরেছে ও আমার বিরুদ্ধে সমবেত হয়েছে।
11 For the Lord has delivered me into the hands of unrighteous men, and thrown me upon the ungodly.
ঈশ্বর আমাকে অধার্মিক লোকদের হাতে সমর্পণ করেছেন ও দুর্জনদের খপ্পরে ছুঁড়ে দিয়েছেন।
12 When I was at peace he distracted me: he took me by the hair of the head, and plucked it out: he set me up as a mark.
আমার সবকিছু ঠিকঠাক চলছিল, কিন্তু তিনি আমাকে ভেঙে চুরমার করে দিয়েছেন; তিনি আমার ঘাড় ধরে আমাকে আছাড় মেরেছেন। তিনি আমাকে তাঁর লক্ষ্যবস্তুতে পরিণত করেছেন;
13 They surrounded me with spears, aiming at my reins: without sparing [me] they poured out my gall upon the ground.
তাঁর তিরন্দাজরা আমাকে ঘিরে ধরেছে। দয়া না দেখিয়ে, তিনি আমার কিডনি বিদ্ধ করেছেন ও আমার পিত্ত মাটিতে ফেলে দিয়েছেন।
14 They overthrew me with fall upon fall: they ran upon me in [their] might.
বারবার তিনি আমার উপরে ফেটে পড়েছেন; একজন যোদ্ধার মতো তিনি আমার দিকে ধেয়ে এসেছেন।
15 They sewed sackcloth upon my skin, and my strength has been spent on the ground.
“আমি আমার চামড়ার উপরে চটের কাপড় বুনে নিয়েছি ও আমার ললাটটি ধুলোতে সমাধিস্থ করেছি।
16 My belly has been parched with wailing, and darkness is on my eyelids.
কেঁদে কেঁদে আমার মুখমণ্ডল লাল হয়ে গিয়েছে, আমার চোখের চারপাশে কালি পড়েছে;
17 Yet there was no injustice in my hands, and my prayer is pure.
তাও আমার হাতে হিংস্রতা নেই ও আমার প্রার্থনা বিশুদ্ধ।
18 Earth, cover not over the blood of my flesh, and let my cry have no place.
“হে পৃথিবী, আমার রক্ত ঢেকে রেখো না; আমার কান্না যেন কখনও বিশ্রামে শায়িত না হয়!
19 And now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and my advocate is on high.
এখনও আমার সাক্ষী স্বর্গেই আছেন; আমার উকিল ঊর্ধ্বেই আছেন।
20 Let my supplication come to the Lord, and let mine eye weep before him.
আমার মধ্যস্থতাকারীই আমার বন্ধু হন যখন আমার চোখ ঈশ্বরের কাছে অশ্রুপাত করে;
21 Oh that a man might plead before the Lord, even [as] the son of man with his neighbor!
একজন লোকের হয়ে তিনি ঈশ্বরের কাছে ওকালতি করেন যেভাবে এক বন্ধুর জন্য একজন ওকালতি করে।
22 But my years are numbered and [their end] come, and I shall go by the way by which I shall not return.
“যে পথে গিয়ে আর ফিরে আসা যায় না, আমি সেই পথটি ধরার আগে শুধু কয়েকটি বছর পার হয়ে যাবে।
