Job 10
1 Weary in my soul, I will pour my words with groans upon him: I will speak being straitened in the bitterness of my soul.
“আমি আমার এই জীবনকে ঘৃণা করি; তাই আমি আমার অভিযোগকে লাগামছাড়া হতে দেব ও আমার প্রাণের তিক্ততায় কথা বলব।
2 And I will say to the Lord, Do not teach me to be impious; and wherefore hast thou thus judged me?
আমি ঈশ্বরকে বলব: আমাকে দোষী সাব্যস্ত কোরো না, কিন্তু আমাকে বলে দাও আমার বিরুদ্ধে তোমার কী অভিযোগ আছে।
3 Is it good before thee if I be unrighteous? for thou hast disowned the work of thy hands, and attended to the counsel of the ungodly.
আমার উপরে জুলুম চালাতে, তোমার হাতের কাজকে পদদলিত করতে কি তোমার আনন্দ হয়, যদিও দুষ্টদের পরিকল্পনা দেখে তোমার হাসি পায়?
4 Or dost thou see as a mortal sees? or wilt thou look as a man sees?
তোমার কি মানুষের মতো চোখ আছে? তুমি কি নশ্বর মানুষের মতো দেখতে পাও?
5 Or is thy life human, or thy years [the years] of a man,
তোমার আয়ু কি নশ্বর মানুষের মতো বা তোমার জীবনকাল কি বলশালী এক মানুষের মতো
6 that thou hast enquired into mine iniquity, and searched out my sins?
যে তোমাকে আমার দোষ খুঁজে বেড়াতে হবে ও আমার পাপ প্রমাণ করতে হবে—
7 For thou knowest that I have not committed iniquity: but who is he that can deliver out of thy hands?
যদিও তুমি জানো যে আমি দোষী নই ও কেউই তোমার হাত থেকে আমাকে উদ্ধার করতে পারবে না?
8 Thy hands have formed me and made me; afterwards thou didst change [thy mind], and smite me.
“তোমার হাত আমাকে গড়ে তুলেছে ও আমাকে নির্মাণ করেছে। এখন কি তুমি ঘুরে দাঁড়িয়ে আমাকে ধ্বংস করবে?
9 Remember that thou hast made me [as] clay, and thou dost turn me again to earth.
মনে রেখো যে তুমি মাটির মতো করে আমাকে গড়ে তুলেছ। এখন কি তুমি আবার আমাকে মাটিতে মিশিয়ে দেবে?
10 Hast thou not poured me out like milk, and curdled me like cheese?
তুমি কি আমাকে দুধের মতো ঢেলে দাওনি ও পনিরের মতো আমাকে ঘন করোনি,
11 And thou didst clothe me with skin and flesh, and frame me with bones and sinews.
চর্ম-মাংস দিয়ে আমাকে আচ্ছাদিত করোনি এবং অস্থি ও মাংসপেশী দিয়ে আমাকে একসঙ্গে সংযুক্ত করোনি?
12 And thou didst bestow upon me life and mercy, and thy oversight has preserved my spirit.
তুমি আমাকে জীবন দিয়েছ ও আমার প্রতি দয়া দেখিয়েছ, ও তোমার দূরদর্শিতায় আমার আত্মাকে পাহারা দিয়েছ।
13 Having these things in thyself, I know that thou canst do all things; for nothing is impossible with thee.
“কিন্তু তোমার অন্তরে তুমি এসব গুপ্ত রেখেছিলে, ও আমি জানি যে তোমার মনে এই ছিল:
14 And if I should sin, thou watchest me; and thou hast not cleared me from iniquity.
আমি যদি পাপ করি, তবে তুমি আমার প্রতি লক্ষ্য রাখবে ও আমার অপরাধ ক্ষমা করবে না।
15 Or if I should be ungodly, woe is me: and if I should be righteous, I cannot lift myself up, for I am full of dishonour.
আমি যদি দোষী—তবে আমার প্রতি হায়! আমি যদি নির্দোষও হয়ে থাকি, তাও আমি মাথা তুলতে পারব না, যেহেতু আমি লজ্জায় পরিপূর্ণ ও আমার দুঃখদুর্দশায় ডুবে আছি।
16 For I am hunted like a lion for slaughter; for again thou hast changed and art terribly destroying me;
আমি যদি আমার মাথা তুলি, তবে তুমি এক সিংহের মতো চুপিসাড়ে আমাকে অনুসরণ করবে ও আবার আমার বিরুদ্ধে তোমার অসাধারণ ক্ষমতা প্রদর্শন করবে।
17 renewing against me my torture: and thou hast dealt with me in great anger, and thou hast brought trials upon me.
তুমি আমার বিরুদ্ধে নতুন নতুন সাক্ষী এনেছ ও আমার প্রতি তোমার ক্রোধ বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে; তোমার সৈন্যবাহিনী আমার বিরুদ্ধে ঢেউয়ের মতো আছড়ে পড়েছে।
18 Why then didst thou bring me out of the womb? and why did I not die, and no eye see me,
“তুমি কেন তবে আমাকে গর্ভ থেকে বের করে আনলে? কোনও চোখ আমাকে দেখার আগে আমার মৃত্যু হলেই ভালো হত।
19 and I become as if I had not been? for why was I not carried from the womb to the grave?
আমি অজাত অবস্থায় থাকলেই ভালো হত, বা গর্ভ থেকে সোজা কবরে চলে যেতে পারলেই ভালো হত!
20 Is not the time of my life short? suffer me to rest a little,
আমার জীবনের অল্প কয়েকটি দিন কি প্রায় শেষ হতে যাচ্ছে না? আমার কাছ থেকে সরে যাও যেন সেই স্থানে যাওয়ার আগে, আমি এক মুহূর্তের আনন্দ উপভোগ করতে পারি
21 before I go whence I shall not return, to a land of darkness and gloominess;
যেখান থেকে কেউ ফিরে আসে না, বিষাদ ও নিরেট অন্ধকারের সেই দেশ,
22 to a land of perpetual darkness, where there is no light, neither [can any one] see the life of mortals.
গভীর রাতের সেই দেশ, নিরেট অন্ধকারের ও বিশৃঙ্খলার সেই দেশ, যেখানে আলোও অন্ধকারের সমান।”
