Esias 1

1 The vision which Esaias the son of Amos saw, which he saw against Juda, and against Jerusalem, in the reign of Ozias, and Joatham, and Achaz, and Ezekias, who reigned over Judea.

൧ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാവ് യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരായ ഉസ്സീയാവ്, യോഥാം, ആഹാസ്, യെഹിസ്കീയാവ് എന്നിവരുടെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ കാലത്ത് യെഹൂദായെയും യെരൂശലേമിനെയും പറ്റി ദർശിച്ച ദർശനം.

2 Hear, O heaven, and hearken, O earth: for the Lord has spoken, [saying], I have begotten and reared up children, but they have rebelled against me.

൨ആകാശമേ, കേൾക്കുക; ഭൂമിയേ, ചെവിതരുക; യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഞാൻ മക്കളെ പോറ്റിവളർത്തി; അവരോ എന്നോട് മത്സരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

3 The ox knows his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel does not know me, and the people has not regarded me.

൩കാള തന്റെ ഉടയവനെയും കഴുത തന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ പുൽത്തൊട്ടിയെയും അറിയുന്നു; യിസ്രായേലോ അറിയുന്നില്ല; എന്റെ ജനം ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല”.

4 Ah sinful nation, a people full of sins, an evil seed, lawless children: ye have forsaken the Lord, and provoked the Holy One of Israel.

൪അയ്യോ പാപമുള്ള ജനത! അകൃത്യഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്ന ജനം! ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരുടെ സന്തതി! വഷളായി നടക്കുന്ന മക്കൾ! അവർ യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനെ നിരസിച്ചു പുറകോട്ടു മാറിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

5 Why should ye be smitten [any] more, transgressing more and more? the whole head is pained, and the whole heart sad.

൫ഇനി നിങ്ങളെ അടിച്ചിട്ട് എന്ത്? നിങ്ങൾ അധികം അധികം പിന്മാറുകയേയുള്ളു; തല മുഴുവനും ദീനവും ഹൃദയം മുഴുവനും രോഗവും പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

6 From the feet to the head, there is no soundness in them; neither wound, nor bruise, nor festering ulcer [are healed]: it is not possible to apply a plaister, nor oil, nor bandages.

൬ഉള്ളങ്കാല്‍ മുതൽ ഉച്ചിവരെ ഒരു സുഖവും ഇല്ല; മുറിവും ചതവും പഴുത്തവ്രണവും മാത്രമേ ഉള്ളൂ; അവയെ ഞെക്കി കഴുകിയിട്ടില്ല, വച്ചുകെട്ടിയിട്ടില്ല, എണ്ണപുരട്ടി ശമിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുമില്ല.

7 Your land is desolate, your cities burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is made desolate, overthrown by strange nations.

൭നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശം ശൂന്യമായി നിങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ തീയ്ക്കിരയായി; നിങ്ങൾ കാൺകെ അന്യജാതിക്കാർ നിങ്ങളുടെ നാടു വിഴുങ്ങികളഞ്ഞു; അത് അന്യജാതിക്കാർ ഉന്മൂലനാശം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ശൂന്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

8 The daughter of Sion shall be deserted as a tent in a vineyard, and as a storehouse of fruits in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.

൮സീയോൻപുത്രി, മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിലെ കുടിൽപോലെയും വെള്ളരിത്തോട്ടത്തിലെ മാടംപോലെയും ഉപരോധിച്ച പട്ടണംപോലെയും ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

9 And if the Lord of Sabaoth had not left us a seed, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been made like Gomorrha.

൯സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ നമ്മിൽ ഏതാനുംപേരെ ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചില്ലായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ നാം സൊദോംപോലെ ആകുമായിരുന്നു; ഗൊമോറായ്ക്കു സദൃശമാകുമായിരുന്നു.

10 Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodoma; attend to the law of God, thou people of Gomorrha.

൧൦സൊദോം അധിപതികളേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾക്കുവിൻ; ഗൊമോറാജനമേ, നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൊള്ളുവിൻ.

11 Of what [value] to me is the abundance of your sacrifices? saith the Lord: I am full of whole-burnt-offerings of rams; and I delight not in the fat of lambs, and the blood of bulls and goats:

൧൧“നിങ്ങളുടെ നിരവധിയായ ഹനനയാഗങ്ങൾ എനിക്ക് എന്തിന്?” എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; “മുട്ടാടുകളെക്കൊണ്ടുള്ള ഹോമയാഗവും തടിപ്പിച്ച മൃഗങ്ങളുടെ മേദസ്സുംകൊണ്ട് എനിക്ക് മതിയായിരിക്കുന്നു; കാളകളുടെയോ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളുടെയോ കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരുടെയോ രക്തം എനിക്ക് ഇഷ്ടമല്ല.

12 neither shall ye come [with these] to appear before me; for who has required these things at your hands? Ye shall no more tread my court.

൧൨നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വരുമ്പോൾ എന്റെ പ്രാകാരങ്ങളെ ചവിട്ടുവാൻ ഇതു നിങ്ങളോടു ചോദിച്ചത് ആര്?

13 Though ye bring fine flour, [it is] vain; incense is an abomination to me; I cannot bear your new moons, and your sabbaths, and the great day;

൧൩ഇനി നിങ്ങൾ വ്യർത്ഥമായുള്ള കാഴ്ച കൊണ്ടുവരരുത്; ധൂപം എനിക്ക് വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു; അമാവാസ്യയും ശബ്ബത്തും സഭായോഗം കൂടുന്നതും - നീതികേടും ഉത്സവയോഗവും എനിക്ക് സഹിച്ചുകൂടാ.

14 [your] fasting, and rest from work, your new moons also, and your feasts my soul hates: ye have become loathsome to me; I will no more pardon your sins.

൧൪നിങ്ങളുടെ അമാവാസികളെയും ഉത്സവങ്ങളെയും ഞാൻ വെറുക്കുന്നു; അവ എനിക്ക് അസഹ്യം; ഞാൻ അവ സഹിച്ചു മുഷിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

15 When ye stretch forth your hands, I will turn away mine eyes from you: and though ye make many supplications, I will not hearken to you; for your hands are full of blood.

൧൫നിങ്ങൾ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥനയില്‍ കൈകൾമലർത്തുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് എന്റെ കണ്ണ് മറച്ചുകളയും; നിങ്ങൾ എത്രതന്നെ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചാലും ഞാൻ കേൾക്കുകയില്ല; നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈകൾ നിഷ്കളങ്കരുടെ രക്തംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

16 Wash you, be clean; remove your iniquities from your souls before mine eyes; cease from your iniquities;

൧൬നിങ്ങളെ കഴുകി ശുദ്ധമാക്കുവിൻ; നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ദോഷത്തെ എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയുവിൻ; തിന്മ ചെയ്യുന്നതു മതിയാക്കുവിൻ.

17 learn to do well; diligently seek judgment, deliver him that is suffering wrong, plead for the orphan, and obtain justice for the widow.

൧൭നന്മ ചെയ്യുവാൻ പഠിക്കുവിൻ; ന്യായം അന്വേഷിക്കുവിൻ; പീഡിതനെ സഹായിക്കുവിൻ; അനാഥനു ന്യായം നടത്തിക്കൊടുക്കുവിൻ; വിധവയ്ക്കുവേണ്ടി വാദിക്കുവിൻ.

18 And come, let us reason together, saith the Lord: and though your sins be as purple, I will make them white as snow; and though they be as scarlet, I will make [them] white as wool.

൧൮വരുവിൻ, നമുക്കു തമ്മിൽ വാദിക്കാം” എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; “നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ കടുംചുവപ്പായിരുന്നാലും ഹിമംപോലെ വെളുക്കും; രക്താംബരംപോലെ ചുവപ്പായിരുന്നാലും പഞ്ഞിപോലെ ആയിത്തീരും.

19 And if ye be willing, and hearken to me, ye shall eat the good of the land:

൧൯നിങ്ങൾ മനസ്സുവച്ചു കേട്ടനുസരിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ ദേശത്തിലെ നന്മ അനുഭവിക്കും.

20 but if ye be not willing, nor hearken to me, a sword shall devour you: for the mouth of the Lord has spoken this.

൨൦മറുത്തു മത്സരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലോ നിങ്ങൾ വാളിന് ഇരയായിത്തീരും;” യഹോവയുടെ വായ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

21 How has the faithful city Sion, [once] full of judgment, become a harlot! wherein righteousness lodged, but now murderers.

൨൧വിശ്വസ്തനഗരം വേശ്യയായി തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നത് എങ്ങനെ! അതിൽ ന്യായം നിറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു; നീതി വസിച്ചിരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോഴോ, കൊലപാതകന്മാർ.

22 Your silver is worthless, thy wine merchants mix the wine with water.

൨൨നിന്റെ വെള്ളി കീടമായും നിന്റെ വീഞ്ഞു വെള്ളം ചേർന്നും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

23 Thy princes are rebellious, companions of thieves, loving bribes, seeking after rewards; not pleading for orphans, and not heeding the cause of widows.

൨൩നിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ മത്സരികൾ; കള്ളന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടാളികൾ തന്നെ; അവർ എല്ലാവരും സമ്മാനപ്രിയരും പ്രതിഫലം കാംക്ഷിക്കുന്നവരും ആകുന്നു; അവർ അനാഥനു ന്യായം നടത്തിക്കൊടുക്കുന്നില്ല; വിധവയുടെ വ്യവഹാരം അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നതുമില്ല.

24 Therefore thus saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts, Woe to the mighty [men] of Israel; for my wrath shall not cease against mine adversaries, and I will execute judgment on mine enemies.

൨൪അതുകൊണ്ട് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ശക്തനായി, സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഹാ, ഞാൻ എന്റെ വൈരികളോടു പകവീട്ടി എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളോടു പ്രതികാരം നടത്തും.

25 And I will bring my hand upon thee, and purge thee completely, and I will destroy the rebellious, and will take away from thee all transgressors.

൨൫ഞാൻ എന്റെ കൈ നിന്റെനേരെ തിരിച്ചു നിന്റെ കീടം പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായി ഉരുക്കിക്കളയുകയും നിന്റെ അശുദ്ധി എല്ലാം നീക്കിക്കളയുകയും ചെയ്യും.

26 And I will establish thy judges as before, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: and afterward thou shalt be called the city of righteousness, the faithful mother-city of Sion.

൨൬ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ന്യായാധിപന്മാരെ ആദിയിൽ എന്നപോലെയും നിന്റെ ഉപദേശകന്മാരെ ആരംഭത്തിൽ എന്നപോലെയും ആക്കും; അതിന്‍റെശേഷം നീ നീതിനഗരം എന്നും വിശ്വസ്തനഗരം എന്നും വിളിക്കപ്പെടും”.

27 For her captives shall be saved with judgment, and with mercy.

൨൭സീയോൻ ന്യായത്താലും അതിൽ മനം തിരിയുന്നവർ നീതിയാലും വീണ്ടെടുക്കപ്പെടും.

28 And the transgressors and the sinners shall be crushed together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be utterly consumed.

൨൮എന്നാൽ അതിക്രമികൾക്കും പാപികൾക്കും ഒരുപോലെ നാശം ഭവിക്കും; യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർ മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകും.

29 For they shall be ashamed of their idols, which they delighted in, and they are made ashamed of the gardens which they coveted.

൨൯നിങ്ങൾ താത്പര്യം വച്ചിരുന്ന കരുവേലകങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു നാണിക്കും; നിങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരുന്ന തോട്ടങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം ലജ്ജിക്കും.

30 For they shall be as a turpentine tree that has cast its leaves, and as a garden that has no water.

൩൦നിങ്ങൾ ഇല പൊഴിഞ്ഞ കരുവേലകംപോലെയും വെള്ളമില്ലാത്ത തോട്ടംപോലെയും ഇരിക്കും.

31 And their strength shall be as a thread of tow, and their works as sparks, and the transgressors and the sinners shall be burnt up together, and there shall be none to quench [them].

൩൧ബലവാൻ ചണനാരുപോലെയും അവന്റെ പണി തീപ്പൊരിപോലെയും ആകും; കെടുത്തുവാൻ ആരുമില്ലാതെ രണ്ടും ഒരുമിച്ചു വെന്തുപോകും.
