Esias 60
1 Be enlightened, be enlightened, O Jerusalem, for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
Mache dich auf, werde licht! Denn dein Licht ist gekommen, und die Herrlichkeit des HERRN ist über dir erstrahlt.
2 Behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and [there shall be] gross darkness on the nations: but the Lord shall appear upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
Denn wohl bedeckt Finsternis die Erde und Dunkel die Völker, aber über dir strahlt der HERR wie eine Sonne auf, und seine Herrlichkeit wird sichtbar über dir.
3 And kings shall walk in thy light, and nations in thy brightness.
Völker wallen zu deinem Licht hin und Könige zu dem Glanz, in dem du strahlst.
4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold thy children gathered: all thy sons have come from far, and thy daughters shall be borne on [men's] shoulders.
Hebe ringsum deine Augen empor und blicke hin! Sie alle haben sich versammelt und kommen zu dir: deine Söhne kommen aus der Ferne, und deine Töchter werden auf den Armen getragen.
5 Then shalt thou see, and fear, and be amazed in thine heart; for the wealth of the sea shall come round to thee, and of nations and peoples; and herds of camels shall come to thee,
Da wirst du dann, sobald du das siehst, vor Freude strahlen, und dein Herz wird pochen und sich weit auftun; denn der Reichtum des Meeres wird sich dir zuwenden, die Schätze der Völker dir zuströmen.
6 and the camels of Madiam and Gaepha shall cover thee: all from Saba shall come bearing gold, and shall bring frankincense, and they shall publish the salvation of the Lord.
Ein Gewimmel von Dromedaren wird dich bedecken, die jungen Kamele von Midian und Epha; allesamt werden sie aus Saba herkommen, Gold und Weihrauch bringen und die Ruhmestaten des HERRN verkünden.
7 And all the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered, and the rams of Nabaeoth shall come; and acceptable sacrifices shall be offered on my altar, and my house of prayer shall be glorified.
Alle Herden von Kedar werden sich für dich sammeln, die Widder von Nebajoth dir zu Diensten stehen: mir zum Wohlgefallen werden sie auf meinen Altar gebracht werden, und so mache ich meinen glanzvollen Tempel noch glänzender.
8 Who are these [that] fly as clouds, and as doves with young ones to me?
Wer sind diese da, die wie eine Wolke dahergeflogen kommen und wie Tauben zu ihren Schlägen?
9 The isles have waited for me, and the ships of Tharsis among the first, to bring thy children from afar, and their silver and their gold with them, and [that] for the sake of the holy name of the Lord, and because the Holy One of Israel is glorified.
Ja, auf mich harren die Meeresländer, und die Tharsisschiffe segeln voran, um deine Söhne aus der Ferne herzubringen; ihr Silber und ihr Gold führen sie mit sich für den Namen des HERRN, deines Gottes, und für den Heiligen Israels, weil er dich zu hohen Ehren bringt.
10 And strangers shall build thy walls, and their kings shall wait upon thee: for by reason of my wrath I smote thee, and by reason of mercy I loved thee.
Die Söhne fremden Stammes werden deine Mauern aufbauen und ihre Könige dir dienstbar sein; denn in meinem Grimm habe ich dich (allerdings) geschlagen, aber in meiner Gnade mich deiner wieder erbarmt.
11 And thy gates shall be opened continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; to bring in to thee the power of the Gentiles, and their kings as captives.
Deine Tore werden beständig offen stehen, bei Tag und bei Nacht unverschlossen bleiben, um in dich einzulassen den Reichtum der Völker und ihre Könige, die im Triumph aufgeführt werden.
12 For the nations and the kings which will not serve thee shall perish; and those nations shall be made utterly desolate.
Denn jedes Volk und jedes Reich, die dir nicht dienen wollen, sollen untergehen, und die Heidenvölker überhaupt völliger Vernichtung anheimfallen.
13 And the glory of Libanus shall come to thee, with the cypress, and pine, and cedar together, to glorify my holy place.
Die Prachtbäume des Libanons sollen zu dir gebracht werden, Zypressen, Platanen und Edeltannen zumal, um die Stätte meines Heiligtums zu zieren; denn ich will die Stätte ehren, wo meine Füße ruhen.
14 And the sons of them that afflicted thee, and of them that provoked thee, shall come to thee in fear; and thou shalt be called Sion, the city of the Holy One of Israel.
Es sollen auch die Söhne deiner (früheren) Bedrücker tiefgebückt zu dir kommen, und alle deine Verächter sich zu deinen Fußsohlen niederwerfen und dich ›die Stadt des HERRN‹ nennen, ›das Zion des Heiligen Israels‹.
15 Because thou has become desolate and hated, and there was no helper, therefore I will make thee a perpetual gladness, a joy of many generations.
Statt daß du verlassen und verhaßt warst, so daß niemand dich aufsuchte, will ich dich zu ewigem Stolz machen, zum Entzücken für alle künftigen Geschlechter.
16 And thou shalt suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt eat the wealth of kings: and shalt know that I am the Lord that saves thee and delivers thee, the Holy One of Israel.
Und du wirst die Milch der Völker schlürfen und dich an der Brust der Könige nähren und sollst erkennen, daß ich, der HERR, dein Retter bin und daß dein Erlöser der starke Held Jakobs ist.
17 And for brass I will bring thee gold, and for iron I will bring thee silver, and instead of wood I will bring thee brass, and instead of stones, iron; and I will make thy princes peaceable, and thine overseers righteous.
Anstatt des Kupfers will ich Gold herbringen und anstatt des Eisens Silber herbeischaffen, statt des Holzes Kupfer und statt der Steine Eisen. Und ich will zu deiner Obrigkeit den Frieden machen und zu deiner Regierung die Gerechtigkeit.
18 And injustice shall no more be heard in thy land, nor destruction nor misery in thy coasts; but thy walls shall be called Salvation, and thy gates Sculptured Work.
Nicht wird man künftig von Gewalttaten in deinem Lande hören, von Verheerung und Verwüstung innerhalb deiner Grenzen, sondern deine Mauern wirst du ›Heil‹ nennen und deine Tore als ›Ruhm‹ bezeichnen.
19 And thou shalt no more have the sun for a light by day, nor shall the rising of the moon lighten thy night; but the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and God thy glory.
Nicht mehr wird dir künftig am Tage die Sonne als Leuchte dienen, noch bei Nacht der Mond dir zur Erhellung scheinen; nein, der HERR wird dir zum ewigen Licht dienen und dein Gott zu deiner herrlichen Zier.
20 For the sun shall no more set, nor shall the moon be eclipsed; for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be completed.
Nicht mehr wird künftig deine Sonne untergehen, noch dein Mond den Schein verlieren; denn der HERR wird dir zum ewigen Licht werden, und die Tage deiner Trauer sollen zu Ende sein.
21 Thy people also shall be all righteous; they shall inherit the land for ever, preserving that which they have planted, [even] the works of their hands, for glory.
Dann wird dein Volk in seiner Gesamtheit aus Gerechten bestehen; ewiglich werden sie das Land besitzen als der Sproß der von mir angelegten Pflanzung, als das Werk meiner Hände, zu meiner Verherrlichung:
22 The little one shall become thousands, and the least a great nation; I the Lord will gather them in [due] time.
der Kleinste wird zu einer Tausendschaft werden und der Geringste zu einem starken Stamm: ich, der HERR, habe es verheißen und werde es zu seiner Zeit eilends verwirklichen.
