Esias 38
1 And it came to pass at that time, [that] Ezekias was sick even to death. And Esaias the prophet the son of Amos came to him, and said to him, Thus saith the Lord, Give orders concerning thy house: for thou shalt die, and not live.
En ces jours-là Ezéchias fut malade à la mort, et Esaïe le Prophète fils d'Amots vint vers lui, et lui dit; ainsi a dit l'Eternel; dispose de ta maison, car tu t'en vas mourir, et tu ne vivras plus.
2 And Ezekias turned his face to the wall, and prayed to the Lord, saying,
Alors Ezéchias tourna sa face contre la muraille, et fit sa prière à l'Eternel.
3 Remember, O Lord, how I have walked before thee in truth, with a true heart, and have done that which was pleasing in thy sight. And Ezekias wept bitterly.
Et dit; souviens-toi maintenant je te prie, ô Eternel! comment j'ai marché devant toi en vérité et en intégrité de cœur, et comment j'ai fait ce qui t'était agréable; et Ezéchias pleura abondamment.
4 And the word of the Lord came to Esaias, saying, Go, and say to Ezekias,
Or la parole de l'Eternel fut adressée à Esaïe, en disant;
5 Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, and seen thy tears: behold, I [will] add to thy time fifteen years.
Va, et dis à Ezéchias ainsi a dit l'Eternel, le Dieu de David ton père; j'ai exaucé ta prière, j'ai vu tes larmes; voici, je m'en vais ajouter quinze années à tes jours.
6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of the Assyrians: and I will defend this city.
Et je te délivrerai de la main du Roi des Assyriens, toi et cette ville, et je garantirai cette ville.
7 And this [shall be] a sign to thee from the Lord, that God will do this thing;
Et ce signe t'est donné par l'Eternel, [pour faire voir] que l'Eternel accomplira cette parole qu'il a prononcée;
8 behold, I will turn back the shadow of the degrees [of the dial] by which ten degrees on the house of thy father the sun has gone down—I will turn back the sun the ten degrees; so the sun went back the ten degrees by which the shadow had gone down.
Voici, je m'en vais faire retourner l'ombre des degrés par lesquels elle est descendue au cadran d'Achaz, de dix degrés en arrière avec le soleil; et le soleil retourna de dix degrés par les degrés par lesquels il était descendu.
9 THE PRAYER OF EZEKIAS KING OF JUDEA, WHEN HE HAD BEEN SICK, AND WAS RECOVERED FROM HIS SICKNESS.
Or c'est ici l'Ecrit d'Ezéchias Roi de Juda, touchant ce qu'il fut malade, et qu'il fut guéri de sa maladie.
10 I said in the end of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I shall part with the remainder of my years. (Sheol h7585)
J'avais dit dans le retranchement de mes jours; je m'en irai aux portes du sépulcre, je suis privé de ce qui restait de mes années. (Sheol h7585)
11 I said, I shall no more at all see the salvation of God in the land of the living: I shall no more at all see the salvation of Israel on the earth: I shall no more at all see man.
J'avais dit; je ne contemplerai plus l'Eternel, l'Eternel, dans la terre des vivants; je ne verrai plus personne avec les habitants du monde.
12 [My life] has failed from among my kindred: I have parted with the remainder of my life: it has gone forth and departed from me, as one that having pitched a tent takes it down [again]: my breath was with me as a weaver's web, when she that weaves draws nigh to cut off [the] thread.
Ma durée s'en est allée, et a été transportée d'avec moi, comme une cabane de berger; j'ai tranché ma vie comme le tisserand [coupe sa toile]; il me coupera dès les pesnes: du matin au soir tu m'auras enlevé.
13 In that day I was given up as to a lion until the morning: so has he broken all my bones: for I was so given up from day [even] to night.
Je me proposais jusqu'au matin qu'il était comme un lion, qu'il briserait ainsi tous mes os; du matin au soir tu m'auras enlevé.
14 As a swallow, so will I cry, and as a dove, so do I mourn: for mine eyes have failed with looking to the height of heaven to the Lord, who has delivered me, and removed the sorrow of my soul.
Je grommelais comme la grue, et [comme] l'hirondelle; je gémissais comme le pigeon; mes yeux défaillaient à force de regarder en haut; Seigneur, on me fait force, sois mon garant.
Que dirai-je? il m'a parlé; et lui même l'a fait; je m'en irai tout doucement, tous les ans de ma vie, dans l'amertume de mon âme.
16 [Yea], O Lord, for it was told thee concerning this; and thou hast revived my breath; and I am comforted, and live.
Seigneur, par ces choses-là on a la vie, et dans tout [ce qui est] en ces choses consiste la vie de mon esprit; ainsi tu me rétabliras, et me feras revivre.
17 For thou hast chosen my soul, that it should not perish: and thou hast cast all [my] sins behind me.
Voici, dans ma paix une grande amertume m'était survenue, mais tu as embrassé ma personne, afin qu'elle ne tombât point dans la fosse de la pourriture; parce que tu as jeté tous mes péchés derrière ton dos.
18 For they that are in the grave shall not praise thee, neither shall the dead bless thee, neither shall they that are in Hades hope for thy mercy. (Sheol h7585)
Car le sépulcre ne te célébrera point, la mort ne te louera point; ceux qui descendent en la fosse, ne s'attendent plus à ta vérité. (Sheol h7585)
19 The living shall bless thee, as I also [do]: for from this day shall I beget children, who shall declare thy righteousness,
Mais le vivant, le vivant, est celui qui te célébrera, comme moi aujourd'hui; le père conduira les enfants à la connaissance de ta vérité.
20 O God of my salvation; and I will not cease blessing thee with the psaltery all the days of my life before the house of God.
L'Eternel m'est venu délivrer, et à cause de cela nous jouerons sur les instruments mes cantiques tous les jours de notre vie, dans la maison de l'Eternel.
21 Now Esaias had said to Ezekias; Take a cake of figs, and mash them, and apply them as a plaster, and thou shalt be well.
Or Esaïe avait dit; qu'on prenne une masse de figues sèches, et qu'on en fasse une emplâtre sur l'ulcère, et il guérira.
22 And Ezekias said, This is a sign to Ezekias, that I shall go up to the house of God.
Et Ezéchias avait dit; quel est le signe que je monterai en la maison de l'Eternel?
