Aggaeus 1
1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first [day] of the month, the word of the Lord came by the hand of the prophet Aggaeus, saying, Speak to Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, of the tribe of Juda, and to Jesus the son of Josedec, the high priest, saying,
En el año segundo del rey Darío, en el mes sexto, en el primer día del mes, vino palabra del SEÑOR, por mano del profeta Hageo, a Zorobabel hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Jud, y a Josué hijo de Josadac, sumo sacerdote, diciendo:
2 Thus saith the Lord Almighty, saying, This people say, The time is not come to build the house of the Lord.
El SEÑOR de los ejércitos habla así, diciendo: Este pueblo dice: No es aún venido el tiempo, el tiempo para edificar la Casa del SEÑOR.
3 And the word of the Lord came by the hand of the prophet Aggaeus, saying,
Vino pues palabra del SEÑOR por mano del profeta Hageo, diciendo:
4 Is it time for you to dwell in your ceiled houses, whereas our house is desolate?
¿Tenéis vosotros tiempo, vosotros, de morar en vuestras casas enmaderadas, y esta Casa est desierta?
5 And now thus saith the Lord Almighty; Consider your ways, I pray you.
Pues así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Pensad bien sobre vuestros caminos.
6 Ye have sown much, but brought in little; ye have eaten, and are not satisfied; ye have drunk, and are not satisfied with drink, ye have clothed yourselves, and have not become warm thereby: and he that earns wages has gathered [them] into a bag full of holes.
Sembr is mucho, y encerr is poco; coméis, y no os hart is; bebéis, y no os saci is; os vestís, y no os calent is; y el que anda a jornal recibe su jornal en saco roto.
7 Thus saith the Lord Almighty; Consider your ways.
Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Pensad bien sobre vuestros caminos.
8 Go up to the mountain, and cut timber; build the house, and I will take pleasure in it, and be glorified, saith the Lord.
Subid al monte, y traed madera, y edificad la Casa; y pondré en ella mi voluntad, y hónrame con ella, dijo el SEÑOR.
9 Ye looked for much, and there came little; and it was brought into the house, and I blew it away. Therefore thus saith the Lord Almighty, Because my house is desolate, and ye run everyone into his own house;
Busc is mucho, y hall is poco; y encerr is en casa, y yo lo soplaré. ¿Por qué? Dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos. Por cuanto mi Casa est desierta, y cada uno de vosotros corre a su propia casa.
10 therefore shall the sky withhold dew, and the earth shall keep back her produce.
Por eso se detuvo la lluvia de los cielos sobre vosotros, y la tierra detuvo sus frutos.
11 And I will bring a sword upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the wine, and upon the oil, and all that the earth produces, and upon the men, and upon the cattle, and upon all the labours of their hands.
Y llamé la sequedad sobre esta tierra, y sobre los montes, y sobre el trigo, y sobre el vino, y sobre el aceite, y sobre todo lo que la tierra produce; y sobre los hombres, y sobre las bestias, y sobre todo trabajo de manos.
12 And Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, of the tribe of Juda, and Jesus the son of Josedec, the high priest, and all the remnant of the people, hearkened to the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of the prophet Aggaeus, according as the Lord their God had sent him to them, and the people feared before the Lord.
Y oyó Zorobabel hijo de Salatiel, y Josué hijo de Josadac, sumo sacerdote, y todo el dem s pueblo, la voz del SEÑOR su Dios, y las palabras del profeta Hageo, como lo había enviado el SEÑOR Dios de ellos; y temió el pueblo delante del SEÑOR.
13 And Aggaeus the Lord's messenger spoke among the messengers of the Lord to the people, [saying], I am with you, saith the Lord.
Y habló Hageo, embajador del SEÑOR, en la embajada del SEÑOR, al pueblo, diciendo: Yo soy con vosotros, dijo el SEÑOR.
14 And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, of the tribe of Juda, and the spirit of Jesus the son of Josedec, the high priest, and the spirit of the remnant of all the people; and they went in, and wrought in the house of the Lord Almighty their God,
Y despertó el SEÑOR el espíritu de Zorobabel hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Jud, y el espíritu de Josué hijo de Josadac, sumo sacerdote, y el espíritu de todo el remanente del pueblo; y vinieron e hicieron obra en la Casa del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, su Dios.
15 on the four and twentieth [day] of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
En el día veinticuatro del mes sexto, en el segundo año del rey Darío.
