Aggaeus 2
1 In the seventh month, on the twenty-first [day] of the month, the Lord spoke by Aggaeus the prophet, saying,
সপ্তম মাসের একুশ দিনের দিন, সদাপ্রভু বাক্য ভাববাদী হগয়ের মাধ্যমে এল,
2 Speak now to Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, of the tribe of Juda, and to Jesus the son of Josedec, the high priest, and to all the remnant of the people, saying,
“শল্টীয়েলের ছেলে যিহূদার শাসনকর্তা সরুব্বাবিলকে, যিহোষাদকের ছেলে মহাযাজক যিহোশূয়কে এবং অবশিষ্ট লোকদের জিজ্ঞাসা করো,
3 Who [is there] of you that saw this house in her former glory? and how do ye now look upon it, as it were nothing before your eyes?
‘তোমাদের মধ্যে কেউ বাকি আছে যে সদাপ্রভুর গৃহের পূর্বের শোভা দেখেছে? এখন তা কেমন দেখাচ্ছে? দেখে মনে হয় না আগেকার তুলনায় এটি এখন কিছুই নয়?
4 Yet now be strong, O Zorobabel, saith the Lord; and strengthen thyself, O Jesus the high priest, the son of Josedec; and let all the people of the land strengthen themselves, saith the Lord, and work, for I am with you, saith the Lord Almighty;
কিন্তু এখন, সরুব্বাবিল, বলবান হও,’ এই কথা সদপ্রভু বলেন, ‘যিহোষাদকের ছেলে মহাযাজক যিহোশূয় এবং দেশের অবশিষ্ট লোকেরা বলবান হও, কাজ করে যাও কারণ আমি তোমাদের সঙ্গে আছি,’ এই কথা সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
5 and my Spirit remains in the midst of you; be of good courage.
‘মিশর দেশ থেকে বেরিয়ে আসার সময় আমি তোমাদের সঙ্গে এই প্রতিশ্রুতি করেছিলাম যে, আমার আত্মা তোমাদের সঙ্গে থাকবে। তাই ভয় করো না।’
6 For thus saith the Lord Almighty; Yet once I will shake the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry [land];
“সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, ‘আর কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যেই আমি আবার আকাশ, পৃথিবী, সমুদ্র এবং ভূমিকে প্রকম্পিত করব।
7 and I will shake all nations, and the choice [portions] of all the nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord Almighty.
আমি সমগ্র জাতিকে নাড়া দেব, ও সব জাতির মনোরঞ্জনকারী আসবেন, এবং এই গৃহ প্রতাপে পরিপূর্ণ করব,’ সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু একথাই বলেন।
8 Mine is the silver, and mine the gold, saith the Lord Almighty.
সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু বলেন, ‘সোনা আমার ও রুপোও আমার,
9 For the glory of this house shall be great, the latter more than the former, saith the Lord Almighty: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord Almighty, even peace of soul for a possession to every one that builds, to raise up this temple.
ভবনের বর্তমানের শোভা অতীতের শোভার চেয়ে মহান হবে।’ সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন। ‘আর এখানেই আমি শান্তি প্রদান করব,’ সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু এই কথা ঘোষণা করেন।”
10 On the four and twentieth [day] of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Aggaeus the prophet, saying,
নবম মাসের চব্বিশ দিনে, রাজা দারিয়াবসের দ্বিতীয় বছরের রাজত্বকালে ভাববাদী হগয়ের কাছে সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য উপস্থিত হল।
11 Thus saith the Lord Almighty; Inquire now of the priest [concerning] the law, saying,
“সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, ‘বিধান সমন্ধে পুরোহিতদের জিজ্ঞাসা করো,
12 If a man should take holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and the skirt of his garment should touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No.
যদি কেউ নিজের কাপড়ের ভাঁজে পবিত্র মাংস বহন করে, এবং সেই ভাঁজ করা কাপড় কোনো রুটি বা সিদ্ধ করা খাবার, দ্রাক্ষারস, জলপাই তেল বা অন্যান্য খাদ্যবস্তুকে স্পর্শ করে, কি সেই বস্তুসমগ্র পবিত্র হবে?’” পুরোহিতরা উত্তর দিল, “না।”
13 And Aggaeus said, If a defiled person who is unclean by reason of a dead body, touch any of these, shall it be defiled? And the priests answered and said, It shall be defiled.
তারপর হগয় জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “যদি কোনো ব্যক্তি মৃতদেহ স্পর্শ করে অশুচি হয়ে, এইসব বস্তুর মধ্যে কাউকে স্পর্শ করে, কি তা অশুচি হবে?” পুরোহিতরা উত্তর দিলেন, “হ্যাঁ, সেটি অশুচি হয়ে যাবে।”
14 And Aggaeus answered and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the Lord; and so are all the works of their hands: and whosoever shall approach them, shall be defiled [because of their early burdens: they shall be pained because of their toils; and ye have hated him that reproved in the gates].
তখন হগয় বললেন, সদাপ্রভুর বলছেন, “‘আমার দৃষ্টিতে এই জাতি ও দেশ এমনই, তারা সেখানে যেসব কাজকর্ম করে এবং যা কিছু উৎসর্গ করে সেসব অশুচি।’
15 And now consider, I pray you, from this day and beforetime, before they laid a stone on a stone in the temple of the Lord, what manner of men ye were.
“‘এখন থেকে সযত্নে চিন্তা করো—সদাপ্রভুর গৃহ স্থাপিত হওয়ার আগে যখন একটি পাথরের উপরে আরেকটি পাথর ছিল না তখন কি অবস্থা ছিল।
16 When ye cast into the corn-bin twenty measures of barley, and there were [only] ten measures of barley: and ye went to the vat to draw out fifty measures, and there were [but] twenty.
কেউ যখন কুড়ি কাঠা শস্যরাশির কাছে আসত, তখন শুধুমাত্র দশ কাঠা পেত। কেউ যখন দ্রাক্ষারসের ভাঁটি থেকে পঞ্চাশ পাত্র দ্রাক্ষারস নেওয়ার জন্য যেত, তখন শুধুমাত্র কুড়ি পাত্রই থাকত।
17 I smote you with barrenness, and with blasting, and all the works of your hands with hail; yet ye returned not to me, saith the Lord.
আমি তোমাদের হাতের কাজকে ক্ষয়রোগ, ছাতারোগ আর শিলাবৃষ্টি দিয়ে আঘাত করেছি, তা সত্ত্বেও তোমরা আমার দিকে ফেরোনি,’ সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
18 Set your hearts now [to think] from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth [day] of the ninth month, even from the day when the foundation of the temple of the Lord was laid;
‘সযত্নে চিন্তা করো আজ নবম মাসের চব্বিশ দিন থেকে সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরের ভিত্তিমূল স্থাপনের দিন পর্যন্ত। সযত্নে চিন্তা করো,
19 consider in your hearts, whether [this] shall be known on the corn-floor, and whether yet the vine, and the fig-tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive-trees that bear no fruit [are with you]: from this day will I bless [you].
এখনও কি গোলাঘরে কোনো বীজ আছে? এখনও পর্যন্ত দ্রাক্ষালতা, ডুমুর, ডালিম ও জলপাই গাছে ফলও ভালো করে ধরেনি। “‘এখন থেকে আমি সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের আশীর্বাদ করব।’”
20 And the word of the Lord came the second time to Aggaeus the prophet, on the four and twentieth [day] of the month, saying,
সেই মাসের চব্বিশতম দিনে দ্বিতীয়বার সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য হগয়ের কাছে এল,
21 Speak to Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, of the tribe of Juda, saying, I shake the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry [land];
“যিহূদার শাসক সরুব্বাবিলকে বলো যে আমি আকাশ আর পৃথিবীকে নাড়াবো।
22 and I will overthrow the thrones of kings, and I will destroy the power of the kings of the nations; and I will overthrow chariots and riders; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword striving against his brother.
আমি রাজাদের সিংহাসন উল্টে দেব এবং বিজাতীয় রাজ্যের ক্ষমতা শেষ করে দেব। আমি রথ ও তার চালকদের উল্টে দেব; ঘোড়া এবং ঘোড়সওয়ারেরা প্রত্যকে তার ভাইদের তরোয়ালের দ্বারা মারা যাবে।
23 In that day, saith the Lord Almighty, I will take thee, O Zorobabel, the son of Salathiel, my servant, saith the Lord, and will make thee as a seal: for I have chosen thee, saith the Lord Almighty.
“সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু বলেন, ‘সেইদিন, শল্টীয়েলের পুত্র সরুব্বাবিল, আমার দাসকে গ্রহণ করব এবং আমার সিলমোহরের আংটির মতো করব কারণ আমি তোমাকে মনোনীত করেছি,’ সর্বশক্তিমান সদপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।”
