Genesis 40
1 And it came to pass after these things, that the chief cupbearer of the king of Egypt and the chief baker trespassed against their lord the king of Egypt.
കുറെ കാലത്തിനുശേഷം ഈജിപ്റ്റുരാജാവിന്റെ വീഞ്ഞുകാരനും അപ്പക്കാരനും തങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനനായ ഈജിപ്റ്റുരാജാവിനെതിരേ തെറ്റുചെയ്തു.
2 And Pharao was wroth with his two eunuchs, with his chief cupbearer, and with his chief baker.
പ്രധാന വീഞ്ഞുകാരനും പ്രധാന അപ്പക്കാരനും ആയ ഈ രണ്ട് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാരുടെ നേർക്കു ഫറവോനു കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചു.
3 And he put them in ward, into the prison, into the place whereinto Joseph had been led.
അദ്ദേഹം അവരെ അംഗരക്ഷകരുടെ അധിപന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ, യോസേഫിനെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്ന അതേ കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽ അടച്ചു.
4 And the chief keeper of the prison committed them to Joseph, and he stood by them; and they were [some] days in the prison.
അംഗരക്ഷകരുടെ അധിപൻ അവരെ യോസേഫിനെ ഏൽപ്പിക്കുകയും അവൻ അവരെ ശുശ്രൂഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. കുറെക്കാലം അവർ തടവിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ,
5 And they both had a dream in one night; and the vision of the dream of the chief cupbearer and chief baker, who belonged to the king of Egypt, who were in the prison, was this.
കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽ ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന അവർ ഇരുവരും—ഈജിപ്റ്റുരാജാവിന്റെ വീഞ്ഞുകാരനും അപ്പക്കാരനും—വ്യത്യസ്ത അർഥം വരുന്ന ഓരോ സ്വപ്നം ഒരേരാത്രിയിൽ കണ്ടു.
6 Joseph went in to them in the morning, and saw them, and they had been troubled.
പിറ്റേന്നു രാവിലെ യോസേഫ് അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവർ വിഷാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതായി കണ്ടു.
7 And he asked the eunuchs of Pharao who were with him in the prison with his master, saying, Why is it that your countenances are sad to-day?
യജമാനന്റെ ഭവനത്തിൽ തന്നോടൊപ്പം ബന്ധനത്തിൽ ആയിരുന്ന, ഫറവോന്റെ ആ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാരോട് അവൻ, “ഇന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ മുഖം ഇത്ര മ്ലാനമായിരിക്കുന്നതെന്ത്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
8 And they said to him, We have seen a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said to them, Is not the interpretation of them through god? tell [them] than to me.
“ഞങ്ങൾ രണ്ടുപേരും ഓരോ സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ അവയെ വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കാൻ ആരുമില്ല,” എന്ന് അവർ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോൾ യോസേഫ് അവരോട്, “വ്യാഖ്യാനം ദൈവത്തിനുള്ളതല്ലയോ? നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്വപ്നങ്ങൾ എന്നോടു പറയുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
9 And the chief cupbearer related his dream to Joseph, and said, In my dream a vine was before me.
പ്രധാന വീഞ്ഞുകാരൻ തന്റെ സ്വപ്നം യോസേഫിനെ പറഞ്ഞുകേൾപ്പിച്ചു; അവൻ ഇങ്ങനെ വിവരിച്ചു: “എന്റെ സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ ഞാൻ എന്റെമുമ്പിൽ ഒരു മുന്തിരിവള്ളി കണ്ടു.
10 And in the vine [were] three stems; and it budding shot forth blossoms; the clusters of grapes were ripe.
ആ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിക്കു മൂന്നു ശാഖകൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അതു തളിരിട്ടപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ പുഷ്പിക്കുകയും മുന്തിരിക്കുലകൾ പഴുത്തു പാകമാകുകയും ചെയ്തു.
11 And the cup of Pharao was in my hand; and I took the bunch of grapes, and squeezed it into the cup, and gave the cup into Pharao's hand.
ഫറവോന്റെ പാനപാത്രം എന്റെ കൈയിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു, ഞാൻ മുന്തിരിങ്ങ എടുത്ത് ഫറവോന്റെ പാനപാത്രത്തിലേക്കു പിഴിഞ്ഞൊഴിച്ച് പാത്രം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കൈയിൽ കൊടുത്തു.”
12 And Joseph said to him, This is the interpretation of it. The three stems are three days.
യോസേഫ് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു, “അതിന്റെ അർഥം ഇതാണ്: മൂന്നു ശാഖകൾ മൂന്നു ദിവസങ്ങളാണ്.
13 Yet three days and Pharao shall remember thy office, and he shall restore thee to thy place of chief cupbearer, and thou shalt give the cup of Pharao into his hand, according to thy former high place, as thou wast wont to be cupbearer.
ഫറവോൻ മൂന്നുദിവസത്തിനകം നിന്നെ ഉയർത്തി നിന്റെ പഴയ സ്ഥാനത്ത് ആക്കും; നീ ഫറവോന്റെ പാനപാത്രവാഹകൻ ആയിരുന്നപ്പോൾ ചെയ്തുപോന്നിരുന്നതുപോലെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പാനപാത്രം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കൈയിൽ കൊടുക്കും.
14 But remember me of thyself, when it shall be well with thee, and thou shalt deal mercifully with me, and thou shalt make mention of me to Pharao, and thou shalt bring me forth out of this dungeon.
എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ കാര്യങ്ങൾ ശുഭമായിത്തീരുമ്പോൾ എന്നെ ഓർക്കുകയും എന്നോടു ദയ കാണിക്കുകയും വേണം; എന്റെ കാര്യം ഫറവോനോടു പറഞ്ഞ് എന്നെ ഈ തടവറയിൽനിന്ന് മോചിപ്പിക്കേണം.
15 For surely I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews, and here I have done nothing, but they have cast me into this pit.
എബ്രായരുടെ ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് എന്നെ ബലാൽക്കാരമായി പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്നതാണ്; എന്നെ ഇങ്ങനെ തടവറയിൽ അടയ്ക്കാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ഇവിടെയും ഞാൻ യാതൊന്നുംതന്നെ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല.”
16 And the chief baker saw that he interpreted aright; and he said to Joseph, I also saw a dream, and methought I took up on my head three baskets of mealy food.
ശുഭസൂചകമായ വ്യാഖ്യാനമാണു യോസേഫ് നൽകിയതെന്നു കണ്ടിട്ട് പ്രധാന അപ്പക്കാരൻ യോസേഫിനോട്: “ഞാനും ഒരു സ്വപ്നംകണ്ടു: എന്റെ തലയിൽ മൂന്നുകുട്ട അപ്പം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
17 And in the upper basket there was the work of the baker of every kind which Pharao eats; and the fowls of the air ate them out of the basket that was on my head.
മുകളിലത്തെ കുട്ടയിൽ ഫറവോനുവേണ്ടി ചുട്ടെടുത്ത എല്ലാവിധ ഭക്ഷ്യവസ്തുക്കളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ പക്ഷികൾ എന്റെ തലയിലെ ആ കുട്ടയിൽനിന്ന് അതെല്ലാം തിന്നുകയായിരുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
18 And Joseph answered and said to him, This is the interpretation of it; The three baskets are three days.
അപ്പോൾ യോസേഫ് അവനോട്, “അതിന്റെ അർഥം ഇതാണ്: മൂന്നുകുട്ടകൾ മൂന്നുദിവസം.
19 Yet three days, and Pharao shall take away thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree, and the birds of the sky shall eat thy flesh from off thee.
ഫറവോൻ മൂന്നുദിവസത്തിനകം നിന്റെ തല വെട്ടിക്കളയുകയും, നിന്നെ ഒരു മരത്തിൽ തൂക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും; പക്ഷികൾ നിന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകയും ചെയ്യും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
20 And it came to pass on the third day that it was Pharao's birth-day, and he made a banquet for all his servants, and he remembered the office of the cupbearer and the office of the baker in the midst of his servants.
മൂന്നാംദിവസം ഫറവോന്റെ ജന്മദിനം ആയിരുന്നു; അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ എല്ലാ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാർക്കുമായി ഒരു വിരുന്നുസൽക്കാരം നടത്തി. ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാരുടെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽ അദ്ദേഹം പ്രധാന വീഞ്ഞുകാരനെയും പ്രധാന അപ്പക്കാരനെയും ഓർത്തു.
21 And he restored the chief cupbearer to his office, and he gave the cup into Pharao's hand.
പ്രധാന വീഞ്ഞുകാരനെ അദ്ദേഹം വീണ്ടും അവന്റെ പഴയ സ്ഥാനത്തു നിയമിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ അവന് വീണ്ടും ഫറവോന്റെ കൈയിൽ പാനപാത്രം കൊടുക്കാൻ സാധിച്ചു.
22 And he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph, interpreted to them.
എന്നാൽ പ്രധാന അപ്പക്കാരനെ, യോസേഫ് വ്യാഖ്യാനത്തിൽ അവനോട് അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നതുപോലെ ഫറവോൻ തൂക്കിക്കൊന്നു.
23 Yet did not the chief cupbearer remember Joseph, but forgot him.
എന്നാൽ പ്രധാന വീഞ്ഞുകാരൻ യോസേഫിനെ ഓർത്തില്ല; അദ്ദേഹം യോസേഫിനെ പാടേ മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.
