Genesis 22
1 And it came to pass after these things that God tempted Abraam, and said to him, Abraam, Abraam; and he said, Lo! I [am here].
౧ఈ సంగతులన్నీ జరిగిన తరువాత దేవుడు అబ్రాహామును పరీక్షించాడు. ఆయన “అబ్రాహామూ” అని పిలిచినప్పుడు అతడు “చిత్తం ప్రభూ” అన్నాడు.
2 And he said, Take thy son, the beloved one, whom thou hast loved—Isaac, and go into the high land, and offer him there for a whole-burnt-offering on one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
౨అప్పుడు ఆయన అబ్రాహాముతో “నువ్వు ప్రేమించే నీ ఒక్కగానొక్క కొడుకు ఇస్సాకును తీసుకుని మోరియా దేశానికి వెళ్ళు. అక్కడ నేను చెప్పబోయే ఒక పర్వతం మీద అతణ్ణి దహనబలిగా అర్పించు” అన్నాడు.
3 And Abraam rose up in the morning and saddled his ass, and he took with him two servants, and Isaac his son, and having split wood for a whole-burnt-offering, he arose and departed, and came to the place of which God spoke to him,
౩కనుక అబ్రాహాము తెల్లవారగానే లేచి తన గాడిదకు జీను కట్టి సిద్ధం చేసి, దహనబలి కోసం కట్టెలు కొట్టి, తన కొడుకు ఇస్సాకుతో పాటు ఇద్దరు పనివాళ్ళనూ వెంటబెట్టుకుని దేవుడు తనకు చెప్పిన ప్రాంతానికి ప్రయాణమయ్యాడు.
4 on the third day; and Abraam having lifted up his eyes, saw the place afar off.
౪మూడవ రోజు అబ్రాహాము తలెత్తి దూరంగా ఉన్న ఆ స్థలాన్ని చూశాడు.
5 And Abraam said to his servants, Sit ye here with the ass, and I and the lad will proceed thus far, and having worshipped we will return to you.
౫తన పనివాళ్ళతో “మీరు గాడిదతో ఇక్కడే ఉండండి. నేనూ అబ్బాయీ అక్కడికి వెళ్లి దేవుణ్ణి ఆరాధించి తిరిగి మీ దగ్గరికి వస్తాం” అని చెప్పాడు.
6 And Abraam took the wood of the whole-burnt-offering, and laid it on Isaac his son, and he took into his hands both the fire and the knife, and the two went together.
౬అప్పుడు అబ్రాహాము దహనబలి కోసం తెచ్చిన కట్టెలు తీసుకుని తన కొడుకు ఇస్సాకు తలపై పెట్టాడు. తన చేతిలో నిప్పు, కత్తి పట్టుకున్నాడు. ఇక వాళ్ళిద్దరూ కలసి కొండపైకి ఎక్కుతున్నారు.
7 And Isaac said to Abraam his father, Father. And he said, What is it, son? And he said, Behold the fire and the wood, where is the sheep for a whole-burnt-offering?
౭ఇస్సాకు తన తండ్రి అబ్రాహామును “నాన్నా” అని పిలిచాడు. దానికి అబ్రాహాము “ఏం నాయనా” అన్నాడు. అప్పుడతడు “చూడండి, మన దగ్గర నిప్పూ కట్టెలూ ఉన్నాయి గానీ దహనబలికి గొర్రె పిల్ల ఏది?” అని అడిగాడు.
8 And Abraam said, God will provide himself a sheep for a whole-burnt-offering, [my] son. And both having gone together,
౮దానికి అబ్రాహాము “కొడుకా, దహనబలికి గొర్రెపిల్లను దేవుడే దయచేస్తాడు” అన్నాడు.
9 came to the place which God spoke of to him; and there Abraam built the altar, and laid the wood on it, and having bound the feet of Isaac his son together, he laid him on the altar upon the wood.
౯దేవుడు అబ్రాహాముకు చెప్పిన స్థలానికి వారు చేరుకున్నారు. అక్కడ అబ్రాహాము ఒక బలిపీఠం నిర్మించి దానిపై కట్టెలు పేర్చాడు. ఇస్సాకును తాళ్ళతో బంధించాడు. ఆ బలిపీఠంపై పేర్చిన కట్టెలపై అతణ్ణి పడుకోబెట్టాడు.
10 And Abraam stretched forth his hand to take the knife to slay his son.
౧౦తరువాత అబ్రాహాము తన కుమారుణ్ణి వధించడానికి చెయ్యి చాపి కత్తి పట్టుకున్నాడు.
11 And an angel of the Lord called him out of heaven, and said, Abraam, Abraam. And he said, Behold, I [am here].
౧౧అప్పుడు ఆకాశం నుండి యెహోవా దూత “అబ్రాహామూ, అబ్రాహామూ” అని పిలిచాడు. దానికతడు “చిత్తం ప్రభూ” అన్నాడు.
12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the child, neither do anything to him, for now I know that thou fearest God, and for my sake thou hast not spared thy beloved son.
౧౨అప్పుడు ఆయన “ఆ బాలునిపై చెయ్యి వేయకు. అతనికి ఏ హానీ తలపెట్టవద్దు. నీకున్న ఒక్కగానొక్క కొడుకుని నాకివ్వడానికి వెనుకంజ వేయలేదు. అది చూశాక నీకు దేవునిపట్ల భయభక్తులు ఉన్నాయని నాకు తెలిసింది” అన్నాడు.
13 And Abraam lifted up his eyes and beheld, and lo! a ram caught by his horns in a plant of Sabec; and Abraam went and took the ram, and offered him up for a whole-burnt-offering in the place of Isaac his son.
౧౩అప్పుడు అబ్రాహాము తలెత్తి చూశాడు. ఆశ్చర్యం కలిగించేలా అక్కడ ఉన్న ఒక పొదలో కొమ్ములు చిక్కుకుని ఉన్న ఒక పొట్టేలు అతనికి కనిపించింది. అబ్రాహాము వెళ్ళి ఆ పోట్టేలుని పట్టుకుని తన కొడుక్కి బదులుగా దాన్ని దహనబలిగా అర్పించాడు.
14 And Abraam called the name of that place, The Lord hath seen; that they might say to-day, In the mount the Lord was seen.
౧౪అబ్రాహాము ఆ చోటును “యెహోవా యీరే” అని పిలిచాడు. కాబట్టి “యెహోవా తన పర్వతం పైన దయచేస్తాడు” అనే మాట ఈ నాటి వరకూ నిలిచి వాడుకలో ఉంది.
15 And an angel of the Lord called Abraam the second time out of heaven, saying, I have sworn by myself, says the Lord, because thou hast done this thing, and on my account hast not spared thy beloved son,
౧౫యెహోవా దూత రెండవసారి ఆకాశం నుండి అబ్రాహామును పిలిచి ఇలా అన్నాడు
16 surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand which is by the shore of the sea, and thy seed shall inherit the cities of their enemies.
౧౬“నువ్వు నీ ఒక్కగానొక్క కొడుకుని ఇవ్వడానికి వెనుకంజ వేయకుండా ఇదంతా చేశావు. అందుకే ప్రమాణం చేస్తున్నాను.
17 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because thou hast hearkened to my voice.
౧౭నేను నిన్ను ఆశీర్వదిస్తాను. నీ వారసులను ఆకాశంలో ఉండే నక్షత్రాల వలే, సముద్ర తీరంలో ఉండే ఇసుక రేణువులవలే అత్యధికంగా విస్తరించేలా చేస్తాను. నీ వారసులు తమ శత్రువుల భూములను స్వాధీనం చేసుకుంటారు.
18 And Abraam returned to his servants, and they arose and went together to the well of the oath; and Abraam dwelt at the well of the oath.
౧౮నువ్వు నా మాట విన్నావు కనుక నీ సంతానం వల్ల భూమి పైన ఉన్న జాతులన్నిటినీ ఆశీర్వదిస్తాను.”
19 And it came to pass after these things, that it was reported to Abraam, saying, Behold, Melcha herself too has born sons to Nachor thy brother,
౧౯తరువాత అబ్రాహాము తన పనివాళ్ళ దగ్గరికి వచ్చాడు. వాళ్ళంతా కలసి బెయేర్షెబాకు వెళ్ళారు. అబ్రాహాము బెయేర్షెబాలో నివసించాడు.
20 Uz the first-born, and Baux his brother, and Camuel the father of the Syrians, and Chazad, and
౨౦ఆ సంగతులన్నీ జరిగిన తరువాత తన సోదరుడైన నాహోరుకు మిల్కా ద్వారా పిల్లలు కలిగారు అనే వార్త అబ్రాహాముకు చేరింది.
21 Azav and Phaldes, and Jeldaph, and Bathuel, and Bathuel begot Rebecca;
౨౧ఆ పిల్లలు ఎవరంటే, పెద్ద కొడుకు ఊజు, అతడి తమ్ముడు బూజు, అరాము తండ్రి కెమూయేలు,
22 these are eight sons, which Melcha bore to Nachor the brother of Abraam.
౨౨కెసెదు, హజో, పిల్దాషు, జిద్లాపు, బెతూయేలు. ఈ బెతూయేలు రిబ్కాకు తండ్రి.
23 And his concubine whose name was Rheuma, she also bore Tabec, and Taam, and Tochos, and Mocha.
౨౩అబ్రాహాము సోదరుడైన నాహోరుకు ఆ ఎనిమిదిమందీ మిల్కా ద్వారా కలిగారు.
౨౪అతని ఉంపుడుకత్తె రెయూమా ద్వారా అతనికి తెబహు, గహము, తహషు, మయకా పుట్టారు.
