Genesis 14
1 And it came to pass in the reign of Amarphal king of Sennaar, and Arioch king of Ellasar, that Chodollogomor king of Elam, and Thargal king of nations,
Und es geschah in den Tagen Amraphels, des Königs von Sinear, Adoks, des Königs von Ellasar, Kedorlaomers, des Königs von Elam, und Tidals, des Königs von Gojim.
2 made war with Balla king of Sodom, and with Barsa king of Gomorrha, and with Sennaar, king of Adama, and with Symobor king of Seboim and the king of Balac, this is Segor.
Diese hatten Krieg beschlossen wider Bera, Sodoms König, Birsa, den König von Gomorrha, Sinab, den König von Adma, Semeber, den König von Seboim, und den König von Bela, das ist Soar.
3 All these met with one consent at the salt valley; this is [now] the sea of salt.
Alle diese zogen vereint in das Tal Siddim, das ist das Salzmeer.
4 Twelve years they served Chodollogomor, and the thirteenth year they revolted.
Zwölf Jahre waren sie Kedorlaomer dienstbar gewesen; im dreizehnten aber fielen sie ab.
5 And in the fourteenth year came Chodollogomor, and the kings with him, and cut to pieces the giants in Astaroth, and Carnain, and strong nations with them, and the Ommaeans in the city Save.
Im vierzehnten Jahre nun zogen Kedorlaomer und die Könige bei ihm heran; da schlugen sie die Rephaiter zu Astarot Karnaim, die Zuziter zu Ham und die Emiter in der Ebene von Kirjataim
6 And the Chorrhaeans in the mountains of Seir, to the turpentine tree of Pharan, which is in the desert.
und die Choriter auf den Bergen von Seïr bis nach EI Paran, das östlich von der Wüste liegt.
7 And having turned back they came to the well of judgment; this is Cades, and they cut in pieces all the princes of Amalec, and the Amorites dwelling in Asasonthamar.
Dann machten sie kehrt und kamen nach En Mispat, das ist Kades, und schlugen das ganze Gefilde der Amalekiter, sowie die Amoriter, die in Chasason Tamar hausten.
8 And the king of Sodom went out, and the king of Gomorrha, and king of Adama, and king of Seboim, and king of Balac, this is Segor, and they set themselves in array against them for war in the salt valley,
Da zogen der König von Sodom und der König von Gomorrha aus, sowie der König von Adma, der König von Seboim und der von Bela, das ist Soar, und rüsteten zum Kampfe gegen jene im Siddimtale,
9 against Chodollogomor king of Elam, and Thargal king of nations, and Amarphal king of Sennaar, and Arioch king of Ellasar, the four kings against the five.
gegen Kedorlaomer, den König von Elam, Tidal, den König von Gojim, Amraphel, den König von Sinear, und Arjok, den König von Ellasar, vier Könige gegen fünf.
10 Now the salt valley [consists of] slime-pits. And the king of Sodom fled and the king of Gomorrha, and they fell in there: and they that were left fled to the mountain country.
Das Siddimtal aber ist voller Erdpechgruben. Als nun die Könige von Sodom und Gomorrha fliehen mußten, warfen sie sich hinein; die übrigen aber flohen ins Gebirge.
11 And they took all the cavalry of Sodom and Gomorrha, and all their provisions, and departed.
Da nahmen jene alle Habe Sodoms und Gomorrhas und all ihren Mundvorrat und zogen ab.
12 And they took also Lot the son of Abram's brother, and his baggage, and departed, for he dwelt in Sodom.
Auch Lot, Abrams Brudersohn, und seine Habe nahmen sie mit und zogen ab; er wohnte nämlich zu Sodom.
13 And one of them that had been rescued came and told Abram the Hebrew; and he dwelt by the oak of Mamre the Amorite the brother of Eschol, and the brother of Aunan, who were confederates with Abram.
Nun kam ein Flüchtling und brachte Kunde dem Hebräer Abram; er wohnte bei den Terebinthen Mamres, des Amoriters, des Bruders von Eskol und Aner, und diese waren mit Abram im Bund.
14 And Abram having heard that Lot his nephew had been taken captive, numbered his own home-born [servants] three hundred and eighteen, and pursued after them to Dan.
Als Abram hörte, sein Bruder sei gefangen, entbot er seine Verbündeten und seine 318 Hausgeborenen und jagte bis Dan nach.
15 And he came upon them by night, he and his servants, and he smote them and pursued them as far as Choba, which is on the left of Damascus.
Er überfiel sie des Nachts, er und seine Diener, schlug und verfolgte sie bis Choba, links von Damaskus.
16 And he recovered all the cavalry of Sodom, and he recovered Lot his nephew, and all his possessions, and the women and the people.
So brachte er alle Habe zurück. Auch seinen Bruder Lot und seine Habe brachte er zurück, ebenso die Weiber und das Volk.
17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him, after he returned from the slaughter of Chodollogomor, and the kings with him, to the valley of Saby; this was the plain of the kings.
Da zog ihm der König von Sodom entgegen, als er vom Sieg über Kedorlaomer und die Könige bei ihm zurückkehrte, im Tale Save, das ist das Königstal.
18 And Melchisedec king of Salem brought forth loaves and wine, and he was the priest of the most high God.
Der König von Salem aber, Melchisedech, hatte Brot und Wein mitgebracht; er war ja ein Priester des höchsten Gottes.
19 And he blessed Abram, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, who made heaven and earth,
Und er segnete ihn und sprach: "Vom höchsten Gott, dem Schöpfer Himmels und der Erden, sei gesegnet Abram!
20 and blessed be the most high God who delivered thine enemies into thy power. And Abram gave him the tithe of all.
Gepriesen sei der höchste Gott, der deine Feinde dir in die Hand gegeben!" Und Abram gab ihm den Zehnten von allem.
21 And the king of Sodom said to Abram, Give me the men, and take the horses to thyself.
Und der König von Sodom sprach zu Abram: "Gib mir die Leute! Die Habe behalte für dich!"
22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I will stretch out my hand to the Lord the most high God, who made the heaven and the earth,
Da sprach Abram zum König von Sodom: "Zum Herrn, dem höchsten Gott, dem Schöpfer Himmels und der Erde, erhebe ich meine Hand:
23 [that] I will not take from all thy goods from a string to a shoe-latchet, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich.
Keinen Faden, keinen Schuhriemen, gar nichts von dem, was dir eigen, nehme ich an. Du sollst nicht sagen: 'Ich habe Abram reich gemacht.'
24 Except what things the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men that went with me, Eschol, Aunan, Mambre, these shall take a portion.
Nichts will ich. Nur was die Jungmannschaft verzehrt, und den Anteil für die Männer, die mit mir gezogen, Aner, Eskol und Mamre! Sie mögen ihren Anteil nehmen!"
