< Ezra 9 >

1 And when these things were finished, the princes drew near to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands in their abominations, [even] the Chananite, the Ethite, the Pherezite, the Jebusite, the Ammonite, the Moabite, and the Moserite and the Amorite.
Ary rehefa vita izany rehetra izany, dia nanatona ahy ny mpanapaka ka nanao hoe: Ny Isiraely sy ny mpisorona ary ny Levita dia tsy mbola miavaka amin’ ny olona tompon-tany, fa manao araka ny fahavetavetan’ ny Kananita sy ny Hetita sy ny Perizita sy ny Jebosita sy ny Amonita sy ny Moabita sy ny Egyptiana ary ny Amorita ihany izy.
2 For they have taken of their daughters for themselves and their sons; and the holy seed has passed among the nations of the lands, and the hand of the rulers [has been] first in this transgression.
Fa efa naka tamin’ ny zanakavavin’ ireo ho vadiny sy ho vadin’ ny zananilahy izy, ka efa miharoharo amin’ ny olona tompon-tany ny taranaka masìna; eny, ny lehibe sy ny mpanapaka aza no nitari-dalana tamin’ izany fahadisoana izany.
3 And when I heard this thing, I rent my garments, and trembled, and plucked [some] of the hairs of my head and of my beard, and sat down mourning.
Ary nony nandre izany zavatra izany aho, dia nandriatra ny lambako sy ny akanjoko sady nandrompotra ny volon-dohako sy ny somotro, dia nipetraka tahaka ilay torana iny aho.
4 Then there assembled to me all that followed the word of the God of Israel, on account of the transgression of the captivity; and I remained mourning until the evening sacrifice.
Dia nivory teo amiko izay rehetra nangovitra noho ny tenin’ Andriamanitry ny Isiraely ny amin’ ny fahadisoan’ ny olona izay efa niverina avy tamin’ ny fahababoana; ary izaho mbola nipetraka tahaka ilay torana iny ihany hatramin’ ny fotoan’ ny fanatitra hariva.
5 And at the evening sacrifice I rose up from my humiliation; and when I had rent my garments, then I trembled, and I bow myself on my knees, and spread out my hands to the Lord God,
Ary nony tamin’ ny fotoan’ ny fanatitra hariva dia nody ny aiko, ka nitsangana aho, sady nandriatra ny lambako sy ny akanjoko indray, dia nandohalika nanandratra ny tanako ho amin’ i Jehovah Andriamanitro aho
6 and I said, O Lord, I am ashamed and confounded, O my God, to lift up my face to thee: for our transgressions have abounded over our head, and our trespasses have increased even to heaven.
ka nanao hoe: Andriamanitro ô, menatra sy mangaihay aho, raha miandrandra aminao, ry Andriamanitro ô; fa efa nihamaro mihoatra ny lohanay ny helokay, ary ny fahotanay dia lehibe manakatra ny lanitra;
7 From the days of our fathers we have been in a great trespass until this day: and because of our iniquities we, and our kings, and our children, have been delivered into the hand of the kings of the Gentiles by the sword, and by captivity, and by spoil, and with shame of our face, as at this day.
fa hatramin’ ny andron’ ny razanay ka mandraka androany dia lehibe ny helokay; ary ny helokay no nanolorana anay sy ny mpanjakanay ary ny mpisoronay ho eo an-tànan’ ny mpanjakan’ ny tany hafa, hovonoin-tsabatra sy ho babo sy ho voaroba ary hangaihay tahaka ny amin’ izao anio izao.
8 And now our God has dealt mercifully with us, so as to leave us to escape, and to give us an establishment in the place of his sanctuary, to enlighten our eyes, and to give a little quickening in our servitude.
Koa ankehitriny vao niseho vetivety ny fahasoavana avy tamin’ i Jehovah Andriamanitray tamin’ ny namelany anay ho nisy sisa afaka sy tamin’ ny nanomezany anay fihantonana eo amin’ ny fitoerany masìna, mba hohazavain’ Andriamanitray ny masonay ka homena famelombelomana kely amin’ ny fahandevozanay izahay.
9 For we are slaves, yet in our servitude the Lord our God has not deserted us; and he has extended favour to us in the sight of the kings of the Persians, to give us a quickening, that they should raise up the house of our God, and restore the desolate places of it, and to give us a fence in Juda and Jerusalem.
Fa andevo izahay, nefa tsy nafoin’ Andriamanitray, na dia tamin’ ny fahandevozanay aza, fa nataony nahazo famindram-po eto imason’ ireo mpanjakan’ i Persia ihany hanomezany anay famelombelomana, hanangananay ny tranon’ Andriamanitray sy hanamboaranay ny rava eo, ary hanomezany anay manda any Joda sy Jerosalema.
10 What shall we say, our God, after this? for we have forsaken thy commandments,
Koa ankehitriny, ry Andriamanitray ô, ahoana no holazainay amin’ izany? Fa efa nahafoy ny didinao izahay,
11 which thou hast given us by the hand of thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, into which ye go to inherit it, is a land subject to disturbance by the removal of the people of the nations for their abominations, wherewith they have filled it from one end to the other by their uncleanness.
dia ilay nampilazainao ny mpaminany mpanomponao hoe: Ny tany izay efa hidiranareo holovana dia tany maloto noho ny fahalotoan’ ny tompon-tany sy ny fahavetavetany, izay efa nataony manenika azy noho ny fahalotoany;
12 And now give not your daughters to their sons, and take not of their daughters for your sons, neither shall ye seek their peace or their good for ever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and transmit it as an inheritance to your children for ever.
koa aza manome ny zanakareo-vavy ho vadin’ ny zananilahy, na maka ny zananivavy ho vadin’ ny zanakareo-lahy; aza mitady izay hiadanany na izay hahasoa azy mandrakizay, mba hahery ianareo ka hihinana ny soa avy amin’ ny tany, dia hamela izany ho lovan’ ny taranakareo mandrakizay.
13 And after all that is come upon us because of our evil deeds, and our great trespass, [it is clear] that there is none such as our God, for thou has lightly visited our iniquities, and given us deliverance;
Ary na dia efa nanjo anay aza izany rehetra izany noho ny asa ratsinay sy ny fahadisoanay betsaka, dia tsy nampijaly anay araka ny helokay Hianao Andriamanitray, fa efa namela anay ho nisy sisa afaka toy izao ihany,
14 whereas we have repeatedly broken thy commandments, and intermarried with the people of the lands: be not very angry with us to [our] utter destruction, so that there should be no remnant or escaping one.
fa raha handika ny didinao indray izahay ka hifanambady amin’ ireny olom-betaveta ireny, moa tsy ho tezitra aminay mandra-pahalany ritranay va Hianao, ka tsy hisy sisa afaka akory?
15 O Lord God of Israel, thou [art] righteous; for we remain [yet] escaped, as at this day: behold, we [are] before thee in our trespasses: for we cannot stand before thee on this account.
Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely ô, marina Hianao, fa izahay no hany sisa afaka tahaka ny amin’ izao anio izao; indreto izahay eto anatrehanao amin’ ny fahadisoanay, fa noho izany dia tsy mahajanona eto anatrehanao izahay.
