< Exodus 36 >
1 And Beseleel wrought, and Eliab and every one wise in understanding, to whom was given wisdom and knowledge, to understand to do all the works according to the holy offices, according to all things which the Lord appointed.
And Bezaleel, and Aholiab, and every wise-hearted man, in whom YHWH has given wisdom and understanding to know to do every work of the service of the holy place, have done according to all that YHWH commanded.
2 And Moses called Beseleel and Eliab, and all that had wisdom, to whom God gave knowledge in [their] heart, and all who were freely willing to come forward to the works, to perform them.
And Moses calls to Bezaleel, and to Aholiab, and to every wise-hearted man in whose heart YHWH has given wisdom, everyone whom his heart lifted up, to come near to the work to do it.
3 And they received from Moses all the offerings, which the children of Israel brought for all the works of the sanctuary to do them; and they continued to receive the gifts brought, from those who brought them in the morning.
And they take from before Moses all the raised-offering which the sons of Israel have brought in for the work of the service of the holy place to do it; and still they have brought to him a willing-offering morning by morning.
4 And there came all the wise men who wrought the works of the sanctuary, each according to his own work, which they wrought.
And all the wise men, who are doing all the work of the holy place, each come from his work which they are doing,
5 And one said to Moses, The people bring an abundance [too great] in proportion to all the works which the Lord has appointed [them] to do.
and speak to Moses, saying, “The people are multiplying to bring in more than sufficient for the service of the work which YHWH commanded [us] to do.”
6 And Moses commanded, and proclaimed in the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman any longer labour for the offerings of the sanctuary; and the people were restrained from bringing any more.
And Moses commands, and they cause a voice to pass over through the camp, saying, “Do not let man or woman make anymore work for the raised-offering of the holy place”; and the people are restrained from bringing,
7 And they had materials sufficient for making the furniture, and they left some besides.
and the work has been sufficient for them, for all the work, to do it, and to leave.
8 And every wise one among those that wrought made the robes of the holy places, which belong to Aaron the priest, as the Lord commanded Moses.
And all the wise-hearted ones among the doers of the work make the Dwelling Place; he has made them [with] ten curtains of twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, [with] cherubim, the work of a designer.
9 And he made the ephod of gold, and blue, and purple, and spun scarlet, and fine linen twined.
The length of one curtain [is] twenty-eight by the cubit, and the breadth of one curtain [is] four by the cubit; one measure [is] for all the curtains.
10 And the plates were divided, the threads of gold, so as to interweave with the blue and purple, and with the spun scarlet, and the fine linen twined, they made it a woven work;
And he joins the five curtains to one another, and the [other] five curtains he has joined to one another;
11 shoulder-pieces joined from both sides, a work woven by mutual twisting of the parts into one another.
and he makes loops of blue on the edge of one curtain, at the end, in the joining; so he has made in the edge of the outmost curtain, in the joining of the second;
12 They made it of the same material according to the making of it, of gold, and blue, and purple, and spun scarlet, and fine linen twined, as the Lord commanded Moses;
he has made fifty loops in the first curtain, and he has made fifty loops in the end of the curtain which [is] in the joining of the second; the loops are taking hold on one another.
13 and they made the two emerald stones clasped together and set in gold, graven and cut after the cutting of a seal with the names of the children of Israel;
And he makes fifty hooks of gold, and joins the curtains to one another by the hooks, and the Dwelling Place is one.
14 and he put them on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, [as] stones of memorial of the children of Israel, as the Lord appointed Moses.
And he makes curtains of goats’ [hair] for a tent over the Dwelling Place; eleven curtains he has made them;
15 And they made the oracle, a work woven with embroidery, according to the work of the ephod, of gold, and blue, and purple, and spun scarlet, and fine linen twined.
the length of one curtain [is] thirty by the cubit, and the breadth of one curtain [is] four cubits; one measure [is] for the eleven curtains;
16 They made the oracle square [and] double, the length of a span, and the breadth of a span, —double.
and he joins the five curtains apart, and the six curtains apart.
17 And there was interwoven with it a woven work of four rows of stones, a series of stones, the first row, a sardius and topaz and emerald;
And he makes fifty loops on the outer edge of the curtain, in the joining; and he has made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain which is joining the second;
18 and the second row, a carbuncle and sapphire and jasper;
and he makes fifty hooks of bronze to join the tent—to be one;
19 and the third row, a ligure and agate and amethyst;
and he makes a covering for the tent of rams’ skins made red, and a covering of tachashim skins above.
20 and the fourth row a chrysolite and beryl and onyx set round about with gold, and fastened with gold.
And he makes the boards for the Dwelling Place of shittim wood, standing up;
21 And the stones were twelve according to the names of the children of Israel, graven according to their names like seals, each according to his own name for the twelve tribes.
ten cubits [is] the length of the [one] board, and a cubit and a half the breadth of the [one] board;
22 And they made on the oracle turned wreaths, wreathen work, of pure gold,
two handles [are] to one board, joined to one another; so he has made for all the boards of the Dwelling Place.
23 and they made two golden circlets and two golden rings.
And he makes the boards for the Dwelling Place; twenty boards for the south side southward;
24 And they put the two golden rings on both the [upper] corners of the oracle;
and he has made forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards: two sockets under one board for its two handles, and two sockets under the other board for its two handles.
25 and they put the golden wreaths on the rings on both sides of the oracle, and the two wreaths into the two couplings.
And for the second side of the Dwelling Place, for the north side, he has made twenty boards,
26 And they put them on the two circlets, and they put them on the shoulders of the ephod opposite [each other] in front.
and their forty sockets of silver: two sockets under one board, and two sockets under the other board;
27 And they made two golden rings, and put them on the two projections on the top of the oracle, and on the top of the hinder part of the ephod within.
and for the sides of the Dwelling Place westward, he has made six boards;
28 And they made two golden rings, and put them on both the shoulders of the ephod under it, in front by the coupling above the connexion of the ephod.
and he has made two boards for the corners of the Dwelling Place, in the two sides;
29 And he fastened the oracle by the rings that were on it to the rings of the ephod, which were fastened with [a string] of blue, joined together with the woven work of the ephod; that the oracle should not be loosed from the ephod, as the Lord commanded Moses.
and they have been twins below, and together they are twins at its head, at one ring; so he has done to both of them at the two corners;
30 And they made the tunic under the ephod, woven work, all of blue.
and there have been eight boards; and their sockets of silver [are] sixteen sockets, two sockets under one board.
31 And the opening of the tunic in the midst woven closely together, the opening having a fringe round about, that it might not be rent.
And he makes bars of shittim wood: five for the boards of the first side of the Dwelling Place,
32 And they made on the border of the tunic below pomegranates as of a flowering pomegranate tree, of blue, and purple, and spun scarlet, and fine linen twined.
and five bars for the boards of the second side of the Dwelling Place, and five bars for the boards of the Dwelling Place, for the sides westward;
33 And they made golden bells, and put the bells on the border of the tunic round about between the pomegranates:
and he makes the middle bar to enter into the midst of the boards from end to end;
34 a golden bell and a pomegranate on the border of the tunic round about, for the ministration, as the Lord commanded Moses.
and he has overlaid the boards with gold, and he has made their rings of gold, places for bars, and he overlays the bars with gold.
35 And they made vestments of fine linen, a woven work, for Aaron and his sons,
And he makes the veil of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen; he has made it [with] cherubim—the work of a designer;
36 and the tires of fine linen, and the mitre of fine linen, and the drawers of fine linen twined;
and he makes four pillars of shittim [wood] for it, and overlays them with gold; their pegs [are] of gold; and he casts four sockets of silver for them.
37 and their girdles of fine linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet spun, the work of an embroiderer, according as the Lord commanded Moses.
And he makes a covering for the opening of the tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen, the work of an embroiderer,
38 And they made the golden plate, a dedicated thing of the sanctuary, of pure gold;
also its five pillars, and their pegs; and he overlaid their tops and their fillets [with] gold, and their five sockets [are] bronze.
39 and he wrote upon it graven letters [as] of a seal, Holiness to the Lord.
40 And they put it on the border of blue, so that it should be on the mitre above, as the Lord commanded Moses.
