< Esther 1 >
1 And it came to pass after these things in the days of Artaxerxes, —(this Artaxerxes ruled over a hundred and twenty-seven provinces from India)—
Kadagidi aldaw a panagturay ni Ahasuero (daytoy ni Ahasuero a nagturay manipud India agingga iti Etiopia, kadagiti 127 a probinsia),
2 in those days, when king Artaxerxes was on the throne in the city of Susa,
kadagidiay nga al-aldaw, nakatugaw ni Ari Ahasuero iti naarian a tronona iti palasiona idiay Susa.
3 in the third year of his reign, he made a feast to his friends, and the other nations, and to the nobles of the Persians and Medes, and the chief of the satraps.
Iti maikatlo a tawen a panagturayna, nangipaay isuna iti padaya para kadagiti amin nga opisial ken adipenna. Kaduana ti armada ti Persia ken Media, dagiti natatakneng a tattao, ken dagiti gobernador dagiti probinsia.
4 And after this, after he had shewn to them the wealth of his kingdom, and the abundant glory of his wealth during a hundred and eighty days,
Impakitana ti kinabaknang ti pagarianna ken ti dayaw iti dayag ti kinatan-okna iti adu nga al-aldaw, iti 180 nga aldaw.
5 when, [I say], the days of the marriage feast were completed, the king made a banquet to the nations who were present in the city six days, in the court of the king’s house,
Idi nalpasen dagitoy nga al-aldaw, nangipaay ti ari iti padaya a nagbayag iti pito nga aldaw. Daytoy ket para kadagiti amin a tattao nga adda iti palasio ti Susa, manipud iti katatan-okan agingga iti kanununumoan. Naangay daytoy iti paraangan ti minuyungan iti palasio ti ari.
6 [which was] adorned with [hangings] of fine linen and flax on cords of fine linen and purple, fastened to golden and silver studs, on pillars of Parian marble and stone: [there were] golden and silver couches on a pavement of emerald stone, and of pearl, and of Parian stone, and open-worked coverings variously flowered, [having] roses worked round about;
Ti paraangan ti minuyungan ket naarkusan kadagiti kurtina a naaramid iti puraw a lupot ken lila nga addaan iti tali a lino ken lila, a nakabitin kadagiti singsing a pirak manipud iti adigi a marmol. Adda dagiti pagtugawan a balitok ken pirak iti pagbaddekan a nabaldusaan iti nangisit a bato, marmol, balay ti perlas, ken adda marisna a batbato.
7 gold and silver cups, and a small cup of carbuncle set out of the value of thirty thousand talents, abundant and sweet wine, which the king himself drank.
Naidasar dagiti mainum kadagiti balitok a kopa. Tunggal kopa ket naidumduma, ket adda naiyeg nga adu nga arak ti ari gapu iti kinamanangited iti ari.
8 And this banquet was not according to the appointed law; but so the king would have it: and he charged the stewards to perform his will and that of the company.
Ti panagiinom ket nagtultuloy kas panangsurot iti bilin, “Nasken nga awan ti pinnilitan.” Imbilin ti ari kadagiti amin a trabahador ti palasiona nga aramidenda ti aniaman a tarigagayan ti tunggal sangaili.
9 Also Astin the queen made a banquet for the women in the palace where king Artaxerxes [dwelt].
Nangangay met iti padaya ni Reyna Vasti para kadagiti babbai iti palasio ni Ari Ahasuero.
10 Now on the seventh day the king, being merry, told Aman, and Bazan, and Tharrha, and Barazi, and Zatholtha, and Abataza, and Tharaba, the seven chamberlains, servants of king Artaxerxes,
Iti maikapito nga aldaw, idi agragragsak ti puso ti ari gapu iti arak, imbagana kada Mehuman, Bizta, Harbona, Bigta, Abagta, Zetar, ken Carcas (dagiti pito nga opisial nga agserserbi kenkuana),
11 to bring in the queen to him, to enthrone her, and crown her with the diadem, and to shew her to the princes, and her beauty to the nations: for she was beautiful.
nga iyegda ni Reyna Vasti kenkuana a nakakorona. Kayatna nga ipakita kadagiti tattao ken kadagiti opisial ti kinapintasna, ta makapasiddaaw ti langana.
12 But queen Astin hearkened not to him to come with the chamberlains: so the king was grieved and angered.
Ngem nagkedked ni Reyna Vasti a sumurot iti sao ti ari nga inyeg kenkuana dagiti opisial. Ket nakaunget unay ti ari; simged iti pungtot iti kaungganna.
13 And he said to his friends, Thus has Astin spoken: pronounce therefore upon this [case] law and judgment.
Nakiuman ngarud ti ari kadagiti lallaki a mabigbigbig a masirib, a makaawat kadagiti panawen (ta daytoy iti pamuspusan iti ari no maipapan kadagiti isu amin a nalalaing iti linteg ken panangukom).
14 So Arkesæus, and Sarsathæus, and Malisear, the princes of the Persians and Medes, who were near the king, who sat chief [in rank] by the king, drew near to him,
Ita dagiti nasinged kenkuana ket da Carsena, Setar, Admata, Tarsis, Meres, Marsena, ken Memucan, dagiti pito a prinsipe iti Persia ken Media. Mabalinda iti umasideg iti ari, ken iggemda dagiti kangangatoan a akem iti pagarian.
15 and reported to him according to the laws how it was proper to do to queen Astin, because she had not done the things commanded of the king by the chamberlains.
“Kas panangtungpal iti linteg, ania ti maaramid kenni Reyna Vasti gapu ta saan isuna a nagtulnog iti bilin ni Ari Ahasuero, nga inyeg kenkuana dagiti opisial?”
16 And Muchæus said to the king and to the princes, Queen Astin has not wronged the king only, but also all the king’s rulers and princes:
Kinuna ni Memucan iti sangngoanan ti ari ken kadagiti opisial, “Saan laeng a maibusor iti ari ti biddut a naaramid ni reyna Vasti, ngem maibusor met kadagiti amin nga opisial ken amin a tattao nga adda kadagiti probinsia ni Ari Ahasuero.
17 for he has told them the words of the queen, and how she disobeyed the king. As then, [said he], she refused [to obey] king Artaxerxes,
Ta maamoanto dagiti amin a babbai ti inaramid ti reyna. Daytoyto ti pakaigapoan a tratoenda ti assawada nga addaan iti gura. Kunadanto, 'Imbilin iti ari nga iyegda ni reyna Vasti iti sangoananna, ngem nagkedked isuna.'
18 so this day shall the other ladies of the chiefs of the Persians and Medes, having heard what she said to the king, dare in the same way to dishonour their husbands.
Sakbay nga agleppas daytoy nga aldaw dagiti nataktakneng a babbai iti Persia ken Media a nakangngeg iti daytoy a banag maipangep iti reyna ket ibagadanto met kadagiti amin nga opisial iti ari. Addanto nakaro a gura ken pungtot.
19 If then it seem good to the king, let him make a royal decree, and let it be written according to the laws of the Medes and Persians, and let him not alter [it]: and let not the queen come in to him any more; and let the king give her royalty to a woman better than she.
No makaay-ayo daytoy iti ari, mangipaulog isuna iti bilin nga aggapo kenkuana, ket mapalubusan a maisurat daytoy kadagiti linteg iti Persia ken Medes, a saanto a mabaliwan, a saanton a makaasideg ni Vasti kenkuana. Ited koma ti ari ti saadna a kas reyna iti sabali a nasaysayaat ngem isuna.
20 And let the law of the king which he shall have made, be widely proclaimed, in his kingdom: and so shall all the women give honour to their husbands, from the poor even to the rich.
Inton naipablaak ti bilin ti ari iti entero a nalawa a pagarianna, raemento amin dagiti babbai dagiti assawada, manipud iti katatan-okan agingga iti kanunumoan.”
21 And the saying pleased the king and the princes; and the king did as Muchæus had said,
Naay-ayo ti ari ken dagiti natatakneng a lallaki iti daytoy a balakad, ket inaramid ti ari kas insingasing ni Memucan.
22 and sent into all his kingdom through the several provinces, according to their language, in order that men might be feared in their own houses.
Nangipatulod ti ari iti surat kadagiti amin a probinsia a masakupan iti pagarianna, iti tunggal probinsia iti bukodda a pannurat, ken iti tunggal tattao iti bukodda a pagsasao. Imbilinna nga amin a lallaki ket masapul nga isu iti amo iti bukodna a pagtaengan. Naited daytoy a bilin iti pagsasao iti tunggal tattao nga adda iti emperio.
