Deuteronomy 23
1 He that is fractured or mutilated in his private parts shall not enter into the assembly of the Lord.
Ingen som är snöpt, vare sig genom krossning eller genom stympning, skall komma in i HERRENS församling.
2 [One born] of a harlot shall not enter into the assembly of the Lord.
Ingen som är född i äktenskapsbrott eller blodskam skall komma in i HERRENS församling; icke ens den som i tionde led är avkomling av en sådan skall komma in i HERRENS församling.
3 The Ammanite and Moabite shall not enter into the assembly of the Lord, even until the tenth generation he shall not enter into the assembly of the Lord, even for ever:
Ingen ammonit eller moabit skall komma in i HERRENS församling; icke ens den som i tionde led är avkomling av en sådan skall någonsin komma in i HERRENS församling --
4 because they met you not with bread and water by the way, when ye went out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Mesopotamia to curse thee.
detta därför att de icke kommo eder till mötes med mat och dryck på vägen, när I drogen ut ur Egypten, och därför att han mot dig lejde, Bileam, Beors son, från Petor i Aram-Naharaim, för att denne skulle förbanna dig.
5 But the Lord thy God would not hearken to Balaam; and the Lord thy God changed the curses into blessings, because the Lord thy God loved thee.
Men HERREN, din Gud, ville icke höra på Bileam, utan HERREN, din Gud, förvandlade förbannelsen till välsignelse för dig, ty HERREN, din Gud, älskade dig.
6 Thou shalt not speak peaceably or profitably to them all thy days for ever.
Du skall aldrig, i all din tid, fråga efter deras välfärd och lycka.
7 Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite, because he is thy brother; thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian, because thou wast a stranger in his land.
Edoméen skall däremot icke för dig vara en styggelse, ty han är din broder. Egyptiern skall icke heller för dig vara en styggelse, ty i hans land har du bott såsom främling.
8 If sons be born to them, in the third generation they shall enter into the assembly of the Lord.
Barn som födas av dessa i tredje led må komma in i HERRENS församling.
9 And if thou shouldest go forth to engage with thine enemies, then thou shalt keep thee from every wicked thing.
När du drager ut mot dina fiender och slår läger, skall du taga, dig till vara för allt vad orent är.
10 If there should be in thee a man who is not clean by reason of his issue by night, then he shall go forth out of the camp, and he shall not enter into the camp.
Om bland dig finnes någon som icke är ren, därigenom att något har hänt honom under natten, så skall han gå ut till något ställe utanför lägret; han får icke komma in i lägret.
11 And it shall come to pass toward evening he shall wash his body with water, and when the sun has gone down, he shall go into the camp.
Och mot aftonen skall han bada sig i vatten, och när solen går ned, får han gå in i lägret. --
12 And thou shalt have a place outside of the camp, and thou shalt go out thither,
Du skall hava en särskild plats utanför lägret, dit du kan gå avsides.
13 and thou shalt have a trowel on thy girdle; and it shall come to pass when thou wouldest relieve thyself abroad, that thou shalt dig with it, and shalt bring back the earth and cover thy nuisance.
Och du skall jämte annat som du bär hava en pinne, och när du vill sätta dig därute, skall du med den gräva en grop och sedan åter täcka över din uttömning.
14 Because the Lord thy God walks in thy camp to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemy before thy face; and thy camp shall be holy, and there shall not appear in thee a disgraceful thing, and [so] he shall turn away from thee.
Ty HERREN, din Gud, vandrar fram i ditt läger för att hjälpa dig och giva dina fiender i ditt våld; därför skall ditt läger vara heligt, så att han icke hos dig ser något som väcker hans leda och fördenskull vänder sig bort ifrån dig.
15 Thou shalt not deliver a servant to his master, who [coming] from his master attaches himself to thee.
En träl som har flytt till dig från sin herre skall du icke utlämna till hans herre.
16 He shall dwell with thee, he shall dwell among you where he shall please; thou shalt not afflict him.
Han skall få stanna hos dig, mitt ibland dig, på det ställe som han utväljer inom någon av dina städer, var han finner för gott; och du skall icke förtrycka honom.
17 There shall not be a harlot of the daughters of Israel, and there shall not be a fornicator of the sons of Israel; there shall not be an idolatress of the daughters of Israel, and there shall not be an initiated person of the sons of Israel.
Ingen tempeltärna skall finnas bland Israels döttrar, och ingen tempelbolare bland Israels söner.
18 Thou shalt not bring the hire of a harlot, nor the price of a dog into the house of the Lord thy God, for any vow; because even both are an abomination to the Lord thy God.
Du skall icke bära skökolön och hundpenningar in i HERRENS, din Guds, hus, till gäldande av något löfte; ty det ena som det andra är en styggelse för HERREN, din Gud.
19 Thou shalt not lend to thy brother on usury of silver, or usury of meat, or usury of any thing which thou mayest lend out.
Du skall icke taga ränta av din broder, varken på penningar eller på livsmedel eller på något annat varpå ränta kan tagas.
20 Thou mayest lend on usury to a stranger, but to thy brother thou shalt not lend on usury; that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all thy works upon the land, into which thou art entering to inherit it.
Av utlänningen må du taga ränta, men icke av din broder, på det att HERREN, din Gud, i allt vad du företager dig, må välsigna dig i det land dit du nu kommer, för att taga det i besittning.
21 And if thou wilt vow a vow to the Lord thy God, thou shalt not delay to pay it; for the Lord thy God will surely require it of thee, and [otherwise] it shall be sin in thee.
Om du har gjort ett löfte åt HERREN, din Gud, skall du icke dröja att infria det, ty HERREN, din Gud, skall förvisso utkräva det av dig, och synd kommer att vila på dig.
22 But if thou shouldest be unwilling to vow, it is not sin in thee.
Men om du underlåter att göra något löfte, så kommer icke därigenom synd att vila på dig.
23 Thou shalt observe the words that proceed from between thy lips; and as thou hast vowed a gift to the Lord God, [so] shalt thou do that which thou hast spoken with thy mouth.
Vad dina läppar hava talat skall du hålla och göra, i enlighet med det frivilliga löfte du har givit HERREN, din Gud, och uttalat med din mun.
24 And if thou shouldest go into the corn field of thy neighbour, then thou mayest gather the ears with thy hands; but thou shalt not put the sickle to thy neighbour's corn.
När du kommer in i din nästas vingård, får du där äta druvor, så mycket dig lyster, till dess du bliver mätt, men du får icke lägga något i ditt kärl.
25 And if thou shouldest go into the vineyard of thy neighbour, thou shalt eat grapes sufficient to satisfy thy desire; but thou mayest not put them into a vessel.
När du kommer in på din nästas sädesfält, får du plocka ax med din hand, men med skära får du icke komma vid din nästas säd.
