Daniel 8
1 In the third year of the reign of king Baltasar a vision appeared to me, [even] to me Daniel, after that which appeared to me at the first.
No terceiro ano do reinado do rei Belsazar, uma visão me apareceu, até mesmo para mim, Daniel, depois daquela que me apareceu no primeiro.
2 And I was in Susa the palace, which is in the land of Ælam, and I was on the [bank of] Ubal.
Eu vi a visão. Agora foi assim, que quando vi, estava na cidadela de Susa, que fica na província de Elam. Eu vi na visão, e eu estava junto ao rio Ulai.
3 And I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, a ram standing in front of the Ubal; and he had high horns; and one was higher than the other, and the high one came up last.
Então levantei meus olhos e vi, e eis que um carneiro que tinha dois chifres estava diante do rio. Os dois chifres eram altos, mas um era mais alto que o outro, e o mais alto subiu por último.
4 And I saw the ram butting westward, and northward, and southward; and no beast could stand before him, and there was none that could deliver out of his hand; and he did according to his will, and became great.
Eu vi o carneiro empurrando para o oeste, para o norte e para o sul. Nenhum animal podia ficar de pé diante dele. Não havia ninguém que pudesse entregar de sua mão, mas ele fez de acordo com sua vontade, e se engrandeceu.
5 And I was considering, and, behold, a he-goat came from the south-west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the earth: and the goat [had] a horn between his eyes.
Enquanto eu estava considerando, eis que um bode macho veio do oeste sobre a superfície de toda a terra, e não tocou no chão. O bode tinha um chifre notável entre seus olhos.
6 And he came to the ram that had the horns, which I had seen standing in front of the Ubal, and he ran at him with the violence of his strength.
Ele chegou ao carneiro que tinha os dois chifres, que eu vi de pé diante do rio, e correu sobre ele com a fúria de seu poder.
7 And I saw him coming up close to the ram, and he was furiously enraged against him, and he smote the ram, and broke both his horns: and there was no strength in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him on the ground, and trampled on him; and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
Eu o vi chegar perto do carneiro, e ele se moveu com raiva contra ele, bateu no carneiro, e quebrou seus dois chifres. Não havia poder no carneiro para estar diante dele; mas ele o jogou no chão e o pisoteou. Não havia ninguém que pudesse livrar o carneiro de sua mão.
8 And the he-goat grew exceedingly great: and when he was strong, his great horn was broken; and four other [horns] rose up in its place toward the four winds of heaven.
O bode macho se engrandeceu excessivamente. Quando ele era forte, o grande chifre foi quebrado; e em vez dele, surgiram quatro chifres notáveis em direção aos quatro ventos do céu.
9 And out of one of them came forth one strong horn, and it grew very great toward the south, and toward the host:
De um deles saiu um chifre pequeno que cresceu excessivamente para o sul, para o leste e para a terra gloriosa.
10 and it magnified itself to the host of heaven; and there fell to the earth [some] of the host of heaven and of the stars, and they trampled on them.
Cresceu muito, até mesmo para o exército do céu; e lançou parte do exército e das estrelas para o chão e as pisoteou.
11 And [this shall be] until the chief captain shall have delivered the captivity: and by reason of him the sacrifice was disturbed, and he prospered; and the holy place shall be made desolate.
Yes, ela se engrandeceu, até mesmo para o príncipe do exército; e tirou dele o contínuo holocausto, e o lugar de seu santuário foi derrubado.
12 And a sin-offering was given for the sacrifice, and righteousness was cast down to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
O exército foi entregue a ele juntamente com o contínuo holocausto através da desobediência. Ele jogou a verdade no chão, e fez seu prazer e prosperou.
13 And I heard one saint speaking, and a saint said to a certain one speaking, How long shall the vision continue, [even] the removal of the sacrifice, and the bringing in of the sin of desolation; and [how long] shall the sanctuary and host be trampled?
Então ouvi um santo falando; e outro santo disse a esse certo que falou: “Quanto tempo durará a visão sobre a contínua oferta queimada, e a desobediência que torna desolada, para dar tanto o santuário quanto o exército a ser pisado?”.
14 And he said to him, Evening and morning [there shall be] two thousand and four hundred days; and [then] the sanctuary shall be cleansed.
Ele me disse: “A duas mil e trezentas noites e manhãs”. Então o santuário será limpo”.
15 And it came to pass, as I, [even] I Daniel, saw the vision, and sought to understand it, that, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
Quando eu, até mesmo eu, Daniel, tinha visto a visão, procurei compreendê-la. Então, eis que estava diante de mim alguém com a aparência de um homem.
16 And I heard the voice of a man between [the banks of] the Ubal; and he called, and said, Gabriel, cause that man to understand the vision.
Ouvi a voz de um homem entre as margens do Ulai, que chamou e disse: “Gabriel, faça este homem entender a visão”.
17 And he came and stood near where I stood: and when he came, I was struck with awe, and fell upon my face: but he said to me, Understand, son of man: for yet the vision is for an appointed time.
Então ele chegou perto de onde eu estava; e quando ele chegou, eu fiquei assustado e caí de cara; mas ele me disse: “Entenda, filho do homem, pois a visão pertence ao tempo do fim”.
18 And while he spoke with me, I fell upon my face to the earth: and he touched me, and set me on my feet.
Agora que ele estava falando comigo, caí num sono profundo com meu rosto em direção ao chão; mas ele me tocou e me pôs em pé.
19 And he said, Behold, I make thee know the things that shall come to pass at the end of the wrath: for the vision [is] yet for an appointed time.
Ele disse: “Eis que vos farei saber o que será no último tempo da indignação, pois pertence ao tempo designado do fim.
20 The ram which thou sawest that had the horns is the king of the Medes and Persians.
O carneiro que você viu, que tinha os dois chifres, são os reis da Mídia e da Pérsia.
21 The he-goat is the king of the Greeks: and the great horn which was between his eyes, he is the first king.
O bode macho áspero é o rei da Grécia. O grande chifre que está entre seus olhos é o primeiro rei.
22 And [as for] the one that was broken, in whose place there stood up four horns, four kings shall arise out of his nation, but not in their [own] strength.
Quanto ao que foi quebrado, no lugar onde quatro se levantaram, quatro reinos se levantarão fora da nação, mas não com seu poder.
23 And at the latter time of their kingdom, when their sins are coming to the full, there shall arise a king bold in countenance, and understanding riddles.
“No último tempo de seu reino, quando os transgressores tiverem chegado ao máximo, um rei de rosto feroz, e enigmas compreensivos, se levantará.
24 And his power [shall be] great, and he shall destroy wonderfully, and prosper, and practise, and shall destroy mighty men, and the holy people.
Seu poder será poderoso, mas não por seu próprio poder. Ele destruirá incrivelmente e prosperará no que fizer. Ele destruirá os poderosos e o povo santo.
25 And the yoke of his chain shall prosper: [there is] craft in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by craft shall destroy many, and he shall stand up for the destruction of many, and shall crush them as eggs in his hand.
Através de sua política, ele fará prosperar o engano em sua mão. Ele se engrandecerá em seu coração, e destruirá muitos em sua segurança. Ele também se levantará contra o príncipe dos príncipes, mas ele será quebrado sem mãos humanas.
26 And the vision of the evening and morning that was mentioned is true: and do thou seal the vision; for [it is] for many days.
“A visão da noite e da manhã que foi contada é verdadeira; mas sela a visão, pois ela pertence a muitos dias futuros”.
27 And I Daniel fell asleep, and was sick: then I arose, and did the king’s business; and I wondered at the vision, and there was none that understood [it].
Eu, Daniel, desmaiei, e fiquei doente por alguns dias. Depois me levantei e fiz os negócios do rei. Fiquei imaginando a visão, mas ninguém a compreendeu.
