Kings IV 2
1 And it came to pass, when the Lord was going to take Eliu with a whirlwind as it were into heaven, that Eliu and Elisaie went out of Galgala.
१जब यहोवा एलिय्याह को बवंडर के द्वारा स्वर्ग में उठा ले जाने को था, तब एलिय्याह और एलीशा दोनों संग-संग गिलगाल से चले।
2 And Eliu said to Elisaie, Stay here, I pray thee; for God has sent me to Baethel. And Elisaie said, [As] the Lord lives and thy soul lives, I will not leave thee; so they came to Baethel.
२एलिय्याह ने एलीशा से कहा, “यहोवा मुझे बेतेल तक भेजता है इसलिए तू यहीं ठहरा रह।” एलीशा ने कहा, “यहोवा के और तेरे जीवन की शपथ मैं तुझे नहीं छोड़ने का;” इसलिए वे बेतेल को चले गए,
3 And the sons of the prophets who were in Baethel came to Elisaie, and said to him, Dost thou know, that the Lord this day is going to take thy lord away from thy head? And he said, Yea, I know [it]; be silent.
३और बेतेलवासी भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के दल एलीशा के पास आकर कहने लगे, “क्या तुझे मालूम है कि आज यहोवा तेरे स्वामी को तेरे पास से उठा लेने पर है?” उसने कहा, “हाँ, मुझे भी यह मालूम है, तुम चुप रहो।”
4 And Eliu said to Elisaie, Stay here, I pray thee; for the Lord has sent me to Jericho. And he said, [As] the Lord lives and thy soul lives, I will not leave thee. And they came to Jericho.
४एलिय्याह ने उससे कहा, “हे एलीशा, यहोवा मुझे यरीहो को भेजता है; इसलिए तू यहीं ठहरा रह।” उसने कहा, “यहोवा के और तेरे जीवन की शपथ मैं तुझे नहीं छोड़ने का।” अतः वे यरीहो को आए।
5 And the sons of the prophets who were in Jericho drew near to Elisaie, and said to him, Dost thou know that the Lord is about to take away thy master to-day from thy head? And he said, Yea, I know [it]; hold your peace.
५और यरीहोवासी भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के दल एलीशा के पास आकर कहने लगे, “क्या तुझे मालूम है कि आज यहोवा तेरे स्वामी को तेरे पास से उठा लेने पर है?” उसने उत्तर दिया, “हाँ मुझे भी मालूम है, तुम चुप रहो।”
6 And Eliu said to him, Stay here, I pray thee, for the Lord has sent me to Jordan. And Elisaie said, [As] the Lord lives and thy soul lives, I will not leave thee: and they both went on.
६फिर एलिय्याह ने उससे कहा, “यहोवा मुझे यरदन तक भेजता है, इसलिए तू यहीं ठहरा रह।” उसने कहा, “यहोवा के और तेरे जीवन की शपथ मैं तुझे नहीं छोड़ने का।” अतः वे दोनों आगे चले।
7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets [went also], and they stood opposite afar off: and both stood on [the bank] of Jordan.
७और भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के दल में से पचास जन जाकर उनके सामने दूर खड़े हुए, और वे दोनों यरदन के किनारे खड़े हुए।
8 And Eliu took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the water: and the water was divided on this side and on that side, and they both went over on dry ground.
८तब एलिय्याह ने अपनी चद्दर पकड़कर ऐंठ ली, और जल पर मारा, तब वह इधर-उधर दो भाग हो गया; और वे दोनों स्थल ही स्थल पार उतर गए।
9 And it came to pass while they were crossing over, that Eliu said to Elisaie, Ask what I shall do for thee before I am taken up from thee. And Elisaie said, Let there be, I pray thee, a double [portion] of thy spirit upon me.
९उनके पार पहुँचने पर एलिय्याह ने एलीशा से कहा, “इससे पहले कि मैं तेरे पास से उठा लिया जाऊँ जो कुछ तू चाहे कि मैं तेरे लिये करूँ, वह माँग।” एलीशा ने कहा, “तुझ में जो आत्मा है, उसका दो गुना भाग मुझे मिल जाए।”
10 And Eliu said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: if thou shalt see me when I am taken up from thee, then shall it be so to thee; and if not, it shall not be [so].
१०एलिय्याह ने कहा, “तूने कठिन बात माँगी है, तो भी यदि तू मुझे उठा लिये जाने के बाद देखने पाए तो तेरे लिये ऐसा ही होगा; नहीं तो न होगा।”
11 And it came to pass as they were going, they went on talking; and, behold, a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and it separated between them both; and Eliu was taken up in a whirlwind as it were into heaven.
११वे चलते-चलते बातें कर रहे थे, कि अचानक एक अग्निमय रथ और अग्निमय घोड़ों ने उनको अलग-अलग किया, और एलिय्याह बवंडर में होकर स्वर्ग पर चढ़ गया।
12 And Elisaie saw, and cried, Father, father, the chariot of Israel, and the horseman thereof! And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his garments, and rent them into two pieces.
१२और उसे एलीशा देखता और पुकारता रहा, “हाय मेरे पिता! हाय मेरे पिता! हाय इस्राएल के रथ और सवारों!” जब वह उसको फिर दिखाई न पड़ा, तब उसने अपने वस्त्र फाड़े और फाड़कर दो भागकर दिए।
13 And Elisaie took up the mantle of Eliu, which fell from off him upon Elisaie; and Elisaie returned, and stood upon the brink of Jordan;
१३फिर उसने एलिय्याह की चद्दर उठाई जो उस पर से गिरी थी, और वह लौट गया, और यरदन के तट पर खड़ा हुआ।
14 and he took the mantle of Eliu, which fell from off him, and smote the water, and said, Where is the Lord God of Eliu? and he smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither; and Elisaie went over.
१४तब उसने एलिय्याह की वह चद्दर जो उस पर से गिरी थी, पकड़कर जल पर मारी और कहा, “एलिय्याह का परमेश्वर यहोवा कहाँ है?” जब उसने जल पर मारा, तब वह इधर-उधर दो भाग हो गया और एलीशा पार हो गया।
15 And the sons of the prophets who were in Jericho on the opposite side saw him, and said, The spirit of Eliu has rested upon Elisaie. And they came to meet him, and did obeisance to him to the ground.
१५उसे देखकर भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के दल जो यरीहो में उसके सामने थे, कहने लगे, “एलिय्याह में जो आत्मा थी, वही एलीशा पर ठहर गई है।” अतः वे उससे मिलने को आए और उसके सामने भूमि तक झुककर दण्डवत् की।
16 And they said to him, Behold now, [there are] with thy servants fifty men of strength: let them go now, and seek thy lord: peradventure the Spirit of the Lord has taken him up, and cast him into Jordan, or on one of the mountains, or on one of the hills. And Elisaie said, Ye shall not send.
१६तब उन्होंने उससे कहा, “सुन, तेरे दासों के पास पचास बलवान पुरुष हैं, वे जाकर तेरे स्वामी को ढूँढ़ें, सम्भव है कि क्या जाने यहोवा के आत्मा ने उसको उठाकर किसी पहाड़ पर या किसी तराई में डाल दिया हो।” उसने कहा, “मत भेजो।”
17 And they pressed him until he was ashamed; and he said, Send. And they sent fifty men, and sought three days, and found him not.
१७जब उन्होंने उसको यहाँ तक दबाया कि वह लज्जित हो गया, तब उसने कहा, “भेज दो।” अतः उन्होंने पचास पुरुष भेज दिए, और वे उसे तीन दिन तक ढूँढ़ते रहे परन्तु न पाया।
18 And they returned to him, for he dwelt in Jericho: and Elisaie said, Did I not say to you, Go not?
१८उस समय तक वह यरीहो में ठहरा रहा, अतः जब वे उसके पास लौट आए, तब उसने उनसे कहा, “क्या मैंने तुम से न कहा था, कि मत जाओ?”
19 And the men of the city said to Elisaie, Behold, the situation of the city [is] good, as [our] lord sees; but the waters [are] bad, and the ground barren.
१९उस नगर के निवासियों ने एलीशा से कहा, “देख, यह नगर मनभावने स्थान पर बसा है, जैसा मेरा प्रभु देखता है परन्तु पानी बुरा है; और भूमि गर्भ गिरानेवाली है।”
20 And Elisaie said, Bring me a new pitcher, and put salt in it. And they took [one], and brought [it] to him.
२०उसने कहा, “एक नये प्याले में नमक डालकर मेरे पास ले आओ।” वे उसे उसके पास ले आए।
21 And Elisaie went out to the spring of the waters, and cast salt therein, and says, Thus saith the Lord, I have healed these waters; there shall not be any longer death thence or barren [land].
२१तब वह जल के सोते के पास गया, और उसमें नमक डालकर कहा, “यहोवा यह कहता है, कि मैं यह पानी ठीक कर देता हूँ, जिससे वह फिर कभी मृत्यु या गर्भ गिरने का कारण न होगा।”
22 And the waters were healed until this day, according to the word of Elisaie which he spoke.
२२एलीशा के इस वचन के अनुसार पानी ठीक हो गया, और आज तक ऐसा ही है।
23 And he went up thence to Baethel: and as he was going up by the way there came up also little children from the city, and mocked him, and said to him, Go up, bald-head, go up.
२३वहाँ से वह बेतेल को चला, और मार्ग की चढ़ाई में चल रहा था कि नगर से छोटे लड़के निकलकर उसका उपहास करके कहने लगे, “हे चन्दुए चढ़ जा, हे चन्दुए चढ़ जा।”
24 And he turned after them, and saw them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And, behold, there came out two bears out of the wood, and they tore forty and two children of them.
२४तब उसने पीछे की ओर फिरकर उन पर दृष्टि की और यहोवा के नाम से उनको श्राप दिया, तब जंगल में से दो रीछनियों ने निकलकर उनमें से बयालीस लड़के फाड़ डाले।
25 And he went thence to mount Carmel, and returned thence to Samaria.
२५वहाँ से वह कर्मेल को गया, और फिर वहाँ से सामरिया को लौट गया।
