Chronicles II 9
1 And the queen of Saba heard [of] the name of Solomon, and she came to Jerusalem with a very large force, to prove Solomon with hard questions, and [she had] camels bearing spices in abundance, and gold, and precious stones: and she came to Solomon, and told him all that was in her mind.
ശേബാരാജ്ഞി ശലോമോന്റെ പ്രശസ്തി കേട്ടിട്ട് കഠിനമായ ചോദ്യങ്ങളുമായി അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പരീക്ഷിക്കാൻ ജെറുശലേമിലേക്കു വന്നു. സുഗന്ധദ്രവ്യങ്ങളും ധാരാളം സ്വർണവും വിലപിടിപ്പുള്ള രത്നക്കല്ലുകളും വഹിക്കുന്ന ഒട്ടകങ്ങളുമായി വമ്പിച്ച പരിവാരങ്ങളോടെയാണ് രാജ്ഞി എത്തിയത്. അവൾ ശലോമോന്റെ അടുക്കലെത്തി തന്റെ മനസ്സിൽ നിരൂപിച്ചിരുന്ന സകലകാര്യങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും അദ്ദേഹവുമായി സംസാരിച്ചു.
2 And Solomon told her all her words; and there passed not a word from Solomon which he told her not.
അവളുടെ എല്ലാ ചോദ്യങ്ങൾക്കും ശലോമോൻ മറുപടി നൽകി; വിശദീകരണം കൊടുക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്തവിധം യാതൊന്നും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് അജ്ഞാതമായിരുന്നില്ല.
3 And the queen of Saba saw the wisdom of Solomon, and the house which he had built,
ശലോമോന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം, അദ്ദേഹം പണിയിച്ച അരമന,
4 and the meat of the tables, and the sitting of his servants, and the standing of his ministers, and their raiment; and his cupbearers, and their apparel; and the whole-burnt-offerings which he offered up in the house of the Lord; then she was in ecstasy.
അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മേശയിലെ വിഭവങ്ങൾ, ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരുടെ ഇരിപ്പ്, പ്രത്യേക വേഷവിധാനമണിഞ്ഞ പരിചാരകവൃന്ദങ്ങളുടെ നിൽപ്പ്, വേഷവിധാനങ്ങളോടുകൂടിയ പാനപാത്രവാഹകർ, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ അർപ്പിച്ച ഹോമയാഗങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയെല്ലാം കണ്ടപ്പോൾ ശേബാരാജ്ഞി വിസ്മയസ്തബ്ധയായി.
5 And she said to the king, [It was] a true report which I heard in my land concerning thy words, and concerning thy wisdom.
അവൾ രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “അങ്ങയുടെ നേട്ടങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും ജ്ഞാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും എന്റെ നാട്ടിൽവെച്ചു ഞാൻ കേട്ട വാർത്ത സത്യംതന്നെ.
6 Yet I believed not the reports until I came, and my eyes saw: and, behold, the half of the abundance of thy wisdom was not told me: thou hast exceeded the report which I heard.
പക്ഷേ, ഇവിടെയെത്തി സ്വന്തം കണ്ണുകൾകൊണ്ടു നേരിൽ കാണുന്നതുവരെ ആളുകൾ പറഞ്ഞുകേട്ടതു ഞാൻ വിശ്വസിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല. യഥാർഥത്തിൽ അങ്ങയുടെ ജ്ഞാനമാഹാത്മ്യത്തിന്റെ പകുതിപോലും ഞാൻ കേട്ടിരുന്നില്ല. അങ്ങ് ഞാൻ കേട്ടതിനെക്കാൾ എത്രയോ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനാണ്.
7 Blessed [are] thy men, blessed [are] these thy servants, who stand before thee continually, and hear thy wisdom.
അങ്ങയുടെ ജനം എത്ര ഭാഗ്യംചെന്നവർ! അങ്ങയുടെ ജ്ഞാനവചനങ്ങൾ എപ്പോഴും കേൾക്കുന്ന അങ്ങയുടെ സേവകരും എത്ര ഭാഗ്യശാലികൾ!
8 Blessed be the Lord thy God, who took pleasure in thee, to set thee upon his throne for a king, to the Lord thy God: forasmuch as the Lord thy God loved Israel to establish them for ever, therefore he has set thee over them for a king to execute judgment and justice.
യഹോവയായ ദൈവത്തിനുവേണ്ടി ഭരണം നടത്താൻ അങ്ങയെ തന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ രാജാവായി പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കാൻ പ്രസാദിച്ച അങ്ങയുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ! അങ്ങയുടെ ദൈവത്തിന് ഇസ്രായേലിനോടുള്ള സ്നേഹംനിമിത്തവും അവരെ എന്നെന്നേക്കുമായി ഉയർത്താനുള്ള ആഗ്രഹംമൂലവും യഹോവ അങ്ങയെ അവർക്കുമീതേ നീതിയും ധർമവും പരിപാലിക്കാൻ രാജാവാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.”
9 And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in very great abundance, and precious stones: and there were not [any where else] such spices as those which the queen of Saba gave king Solomon.
അതിനുശേഷം അവൾ നൂറ്റിയിരുപതു താലന്തു സ്വർണവും വളരെയേറെ സുഗന്ധദ്രവ്യങ്ങളും വിലപിടിപ്പുള്ള രത്നങ്ങളും രാജാവിനു സമ്മാനിച്ചു. ശേബാരാജ്ഞി ശലോമോൻ രാജാവിനു സമ്മാനിച്ചിടത്തോളം സുഗന്ധദ്രവ്യങ്ങൾ അവിടെ പിന്നീട് ഒരിക്കലും ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല.
10 And the servants of Solomon and the servants of Chiram brought gold to Solomon out of Suphir, and pine timber, and precious stones.
(ഇതു കൂടാതെ, ഹീരാമിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരും ശലോമോന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുംചേർന്ന് ഓഫീറിൽനിന്ന് സ്വർണവും ചന്ദനത്തടികളും വിലപിടിപ്പുള്ള രത്നങ്ങളുംകൂടി കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
11 And the king made of the pine timber steps to the house of the Lord, and to the king's house, and harps and lutes for the singers: and such were not seen before in the land of Juda.
യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിനും രാജകൊട്ടാരത്തിനും ചവിട്ടുപടികൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നതിനും ഗായകർക്കുവേണ്ടി കിന്നരങ്ങളും വീണകളും നിർമിക്കുന്നതിനും രാജാവ് ആ ചന്ദനത്തടികൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ചു. യെഹൂദാദേശത്ത് അത്തരത്തിലുള്ളതൊന്നും മുമ്പൊരിക്കലും കാണാൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.)
12 And king Solomon gave to the queen of Saba all that she requested, besides all that she brought to king Solomon: and she returned to her [own] land.
ശേബാരാജ്ഞി ആഗ്രഹിച്ചതും ചോദിച്ചതുമെല്ലാം ശലോമോൻരാജാവ് അവൾക്കു നൽകി. അവൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനുവേണ്ടി ഇങ്ങോട്ടു കൊണ്ടുവന്നതിനെക്കാൾ വളരെക്കൂടുതൽ അദ്ദേഹം അവൾക്ക് അങ്ങോട്ടു കൊടുത്തയച്ചു. അതിനുശേഷം, അവൾ പരിവാരസമേതം സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
13 And the weight of the gold that was brought to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,
ശലോമോൻ രാജാവിനു പ്രതിവർഷം ലഭിച്ചിരുന്ന സ്വർണത്തിന്റെ തൂക്കം 666 താലന്ത് ആയിരുന്നു.
14 besides what the men who were regularly appointed and the merchants brought, and all the kings of Arabia and princes of the land: all brought gold and silver to king Solomon.
ഇതു വ്യാപാരികളും കച്ചവടക്കാരും കരം തീരുവയായി കൊടുത്തിരുന്നതിനു പുറമേയാണ്. കൂടാതെ, സകല അറബിരാജാക്കന്മാരും ദേശാധിപതികളും സ്വർണവും വെള്ളിയും കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് ശലോമോനു കാഴ്ചവെച്ചിരുന്നു.
15 And king Solomon made two hundred shields of beaten gold: there were six hundred [shekels] of pure gold to one shield.
അടിച്ചുപരത്തിയ സ്വർണംകൊണ്ട് ഇരുനൂറു വലിയ പരിചകൾ ശലോമോൻരാജാവ് നിർമിച്ചു. ഓരോ പരിചയും അടിച്ചുപരത്തുന്നതിന് അറുനൂറു ശേക്കേൽവീതം സ്വർണം ചെലവായി.
16 And three hundred buckles of beaten gold: [the weight] of three hundred gold shekels went to one buckler: and the king placed them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
അടിച്ചുപരത്തിയ സ്വർണംകൊണ്ട് മുന്നൂറു ചെറുപരിചകളും അദ്ദേഹം നിർമിച്ചു. അവ ഓരോന്നിനും മുന്നൂറു ശേക്കേൽ സ്വർണം ആവശ്യമായിവന്നു. രാജാവ് ലെബാനോൻ വനസൗധത്തിൽ അവ സൂക്ഷിച്ചു.
17 And the king made a great throne of ivory, and he gilded it with pure gold.
പിന്നീട്, രാജാവ് ദന്തംകൊണ്ട് ഒരു സിംഹാസനമുണ്ടാക്കി അതു തങ്കംകൊണ്ടു പൊതിഞ്ഞു.
18 And [there were] six steps to the throne, riveted with gold, and elbows on either side of the seat of the throne, and two lions standing by the elbows:
സിംഹാസനത്തിന് സ്വർണംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ആറു പടികളും ഒരു പാദപീഠവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഇവ സിംഹാസനത്തോട് ബന്ധിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഇരിപ്പിടത്തിന്റെ ഇരുവശത്തും കൈതാങ്ങികളും ഓരോന്നിന്റെയും വശങ്ങളിൽ ഓരോ സിംഹത്തിന്റെ രൂപവും നിൽക്കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
19 and twelve lions standing there on the six steps on each side. There was not the like in any [other] kingdom.
പടിയുടെ ഇരുവശങ്ങളിലും ഓരോന്നുവെച്ച് ആറു പടികളിലായി പന്ത്രണ്ടു സിംഹങ്ങൾ നിന്നിരുന്നു. ഇതുപോലെ ഒരു സിംഹാസനം ഒരു രാജ്യത്തും ഒരിക്കലും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിട്ടില്ല.
20 And all king Solomon's vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were covered with gold: silver was not thought anything of in the days of Solomon.
ശലോമോൻരാജാവിന്റെ പാനപാത്രങ്ങളെല്ലാം സ്വർണനിർമിതമായിരുന്നു. ലെബാനോൻ വനസൗധത്തിലെ വീട്ടുപകരണങ്ങളെല്ലാം തങ്കത്തിൽ തീർത്തവയായിരുന്നു; ശലോമോന്റെകാലത്ത് വെള്ളിക്കു വിലയില്ലാതിരുന്നതിനാൽ ഉപകരണങ്ങളൊന്നുംതന്നെ വെള്ളിയിൽ തീർത്തിരുന്നില്ല.
21 For a ship went for the king to Tharsis with the servants of Chiram: once every three years came vessels from Tharsis to the king, laden with gold, and silver, and ivory, and apes.
രാജാവിന് ഒരു വാണിജ്യക്കപ്പൽവ്യൂഹം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഹൂരാമിന്റെ ദാസന്മാർ അവയെ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. അവ മൂന്നുവർഷത്തിലൊരിക്കൽ സ്വർണം, വെള്ളി, ആനക്കൊമ്പ്, ആൾക്കുരങ്ങുകൾ, മയിലുകൾ എന്നിവ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തിച്ചിരുന്നു.
22 And Solomon exceeded all [other] kings both in riches and wisdom.
ശലോമോൻരാജാവ് ഭൂമിയിലെ മറ്റു സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരെക്കാളും സമ്പത്തിലും ജ്ഞാനത്തിലും മികച്ചുനിന്നു.
23 And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
ദൈവം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ കൊടുത്ത ജ്ഞാനം കേൾക്കാൻ ഭൂതലത്തിലെ സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അന്വേഷിച്ചുവന്നു.
24 And they brought every one his gifts, silver vessels and golden vessels, and raiment, myrrh and spices, horses and mules, a rate every year.
അവരിൽ ഓരോരുത്തരും, സ്വർണവും വെള്ളിയുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള വസ്തുക്കൾ, വസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ, ആയുധങ്ങൾ, സുഗന്ധദ്രവ്യങ്ങൾ, കുതിരകൾ, കോവർകഴുതകൾ മുതലായവ ഓരോവർഷവും കാഴ്ചവസ്തുക്കളായി കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരുന്നു.
25 And Solomon had four thousand mares for chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; and he put them in the chariot cities, and with the king in Jerusalem.
കുതിരകൾക്കും രഥങ്ങൾക്കുമായി നാലായിരം ലായങ്ങളും പന്തീരായിരം കുതിരച്ചേവകരും ശലോമോനുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവരെ അദ്ദേഹം രഥനഗരങ്ങളിലും തന്നോടൊപ്പം ജെറുശലേമിലും സൂക്ഷിച്ചു.
26 And he rules over all the kings from the river even to the land of the Philistines, and to the borders of Egypt.
യൂഫ്രട്ടീസ് നദിമുതൽ ഫെലിസ്ത്യദേശംവരെയും ഈജിപ്റ്റിന്റെ അതിർത്തിവരെയും ഉള്ള സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെമേലും ശലോമോൻ ആധിപത്യം നേടി.
27 And the king made gold and silver in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars as the sycamore trees in the plain for abundance.
രാജാവ് ജെറുശലേമിൽ വെള്ളി കല്ലുകൾപോലെ സർവസാധാരണവും ദേവദാരു കുന്നിൻപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലെ കാട്ടത്തിമരംപോലെ സുലഭവുമാക്കിത്തീർത്തു.
28 And Solomon imported horses from Egypt, and from every [other] country.
ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്നും മറ്റെല്ലാ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും ശലോമോൻ കുതിരകളെ ഇറക്കുമതി ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.
29 And the rest of the acts of Solomon, the first and the last, behold, these are written in the words of Nathan the prophet, and in the words of Achia the Selonite, and in the visions of Joel the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nabat.
ശലോമോന്റെ ഭരണകാലത്തുണ്ടായ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങൾ ആദ്യവസാനം നാഥാൻപ്രവാചകന്റെ രേഖകളിലും ശീലോന്യനായ അഹീയാവിന്റെ പ്രവചനങ്ങളിലും നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ദർശകനായ ഇദ്ദോയ്ക്കുണ്ടായ ദർശനങ്ങളിലും രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
30 And Solomon reigned over all Israel forty years.
ശലോമോൻ ജെറുശലേമിൽ, സമസ്തഇസ്രായേലിനും രാജാവായി നാൽപ്പതുവർഷം ഭരണംനടത്തി.
31 And Solomon fell asleep, and they buried him in the city of David his father: and Roboam his son reigned in his stead.
പിന്നെ അദ്ദേഹം നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ച് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് ചേർന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അടക്കി. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മകനായ രെഹബെയാം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അനന്തരാവകാശിയായി രാജ്യഭാരമേറ്റു.
