Chronicles II 28
1 Achaz was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and he did not that which was right in the sight of the Lord, as David his father.
Ahaz era în vârstă de douăzeci de ani când a început să domnească și a domnit șaisprezece ani în Ierusalim, dar el nu a făcut ceea ce era drept înaintea ochilor DOMNULUI, precum David, tatăl său,
2 But he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, for he made graven images.
Fiindcă a umblat în căile împăraților lui Israel și a făcut de asemenea chipuri turnate pentru Baali.
3 And [he sacrificed] to their idols in the valley of Benennom, and passed his children through the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out from before the children of Israel.
Mai mult, a ars tămâie în valea fiului lui Hinom și a ars pe copiii lui în foc, după urâciunea păgânilor pe care DOMNUL i-a aruncat din fața copiilor lui Israel.
4 And he burnt incense upon the high places, and upon the roofs, and under every shady tree.
A sacrificat de asemenea și a ars tămâie pe înălțimi și pe dealuri și sub fiecare pom verde.
5 And the Lord his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and he smote him, and took captive of them a great band of prisoners, and carried him to Damascus. Also [God] delivered him into the hands of the king of Israel, who smote him with a great slaughter.
De aceea DOMNUL Dumnezeul său l-a dat în mâna împăratului Siriei; și ei l-au lovit și au dus o mare mulțime de captivi și i-au adus la Damasc. Și a fost de asemenea dat în mâna împăratului lui Israel, care l-a lovit cu un mare măcel.
6 And Phakee the son of Romelias king of Israel, slew in Juda in one day a hundred and twenty thousand mighty men; because they had forsaken the Lord God of their fathers.
Și Pecah, fiul lui Remalia, a ucis în Iuda, într-o singură zi, o sută douăzeci de mii, toți bărbați viteji, pentru că ei au părăsit pe DOMNUL Dumnezeul părinților lor.
7 And Zechri, a mighty man of Ephraim, slew Maasias the king's son, and Ezrican the chief of his house, and Elcana the king's deputy.
Și Zicri, un războinic din Efraim, l-a ucis pe Maaseia, fiul împăratului, și pe Azricam, guvernatorul casei, și pe Elcana, care era lângă împărat.
8 And the children of Israel took captive of their brethren three hundred thousand, women, and sons, and daughters, and they spoiled them of much property, and brought the spoils to Samaria.
Și copiii lui Israel au dus captivi dintre frații lor două sute de mii: femei, fii și fiice și au dus de asemenea multă pradă de la ei și au adus prada în Samaria.
9 And there was there a prophet of the Lord, his name [was] Oded: and he went out to meet the host that were coming to Samaria, and said to them, Behold, the wrath of the Lord God of your fathers [is] upon Juda, and he has delivered them into your hands, and ye have slain them in wrath, and it has reached even to heaven.
Dar un profet al DOMNULUI era acolo, al cărui nume era Oded, și a ieșit înaintea oștirii care a venit la Samaria și le-a spus: Iată, pentru că DOMNUL Dumnezeul părinților voștri s-a înfuriat pe Iuda, el i-a dat în mâna voastră și i-ați ucis într-o turbare care ajunge până la cer.
10 And now ye talk of keeping the children of Juda and Jerusalem for servants and handmaidens. Lo, am I not with you to testify for the Lord your God?
Și acum sunteți hotărâți să țineți pe copiii lui Iuda și ai Ierusalimului ca robi și roabe pentru voi, dar nu sunt la voi, chiar la voi, păcate împotriva DOMNULUI Dumnezeul vostru?
11 And now hearken to me, and restore the prisoners of your brethren whom ye have taken: for the fierce anger of the Lord [is] upon you.
Și ascultați-mă de aceea și eliberați din nou pe captivii pe care i-ați luat captivi dintre frații voștri, pentru că furia înverșunată a DOMNULUI este peste voi.
12 And the chiefs of the sons of Ephraim rose up, Udias the son of Joanas, and Barachias the son of Mosolamoth, and Ezekias the son of Sellem, and Amasias the son of Eldai, against those that came from the war,
Atunci, anumiți capi ai copiilor lui Efraim: Azaria, fiul lui Iohanan, Berechia, fiul lui Meșilemot, și Iehizchia, fiul lui Șalum, și Amasa, fiul lui Hadlai, s-au ridicat împotriva celor care au venit de la război,
13 and said to them, Ye shall not bring in hither the prisoners to us, for whereas sin against the Lord [is] upon us, ye mean to add to our sins, and to our trespass: for our sin [is] great, and the fierce anger of the Lord [is] upon Israel.
Și le-au spus: Nu veți aduce pe captivi aici; fiindcă deși am adus ofense împotriva DOMNULUI deja, sunteți hotărâți să adăugați mai mult la păcatele noastre și la fărădelegea noastră, fiindcă fărădelegea noastră este mare și este furie înverșunată împotriva lui Israel.
14 So the warriors left the prisoners and the spoils before the princes and all the congregation.
Astfel soldații au lăsat pe captivi și prada înaintea prinților și a întregii adunări.
15 And the men who were called by name rose up, and took hold of the prisoners, and clothed all the naked from the spoils, and gave them garments and shoes, and gave them [food] to eat, and [oil] to anoint themselves [with], and they helped also every one that was weak with asses, and placed them in Jericho, the city of palm-trees, with their brethren; and they returned to Samaria.
Și bărbații care au fost rânduiți pe nume s-au ridicat și au luat pe captivi, și cu prada au îmbrăcat pe toți cei care erau goi printre ei și i-au înveșmântat și i-au încălțat și le-au dat să mănânce și să bea și i-au uns și i-au dus pe toți cei slabi dintre ei pe măgari și i-au adus la Ierihon, cetatea palmierilor, la frații lor, apoi s-au întors în Samaria.
16 At that time king Achaz sent to the king of Assyria to help him, and on this occasion,
În acel timp împăratul Ahaz a trimis veste împăraților din Asiria să îl ajute.
17 because the Idumeans had attacked [him], and smitten Juda, and taken a number of prisoners.
Fiindcă din nou edomiții au venit să lovească Iuda și au dus captivi.
18 Also the Philistines had made an attack on the cities of the plain country, and the cities of the south of Juda, and taken Baethsamys, and [the things in the house of the Lord, and the things in the house of the king, and of the princes: and they gave to the king] Aelon, and Galero, and Socho and her villages, and Thamna and her villages, and Gamzo and her villages: and they dwelt there.
Filistenii de asemenea au invadat cetățile țării de jos și partea de sud a lui Iuda și au luat cetatea Bet-Șemeș și Aialon și Ghederot și Soco cu satele ei și Timna cu satele ei, Ghimzo de asemenea cu satele ei, și au locuit acolo.
19 For the Lord humbled Juda because of Achaz king of Juda, because he grievously departed from the Lord.
Fiindcă DOMNUL a înjosit pe Iuda din cauza lui Ahaz, împăratul lui Israel, fiindcă el a dezbrăcat pe Iuda și a încălcat mult legea împotriva DOMNULUI.
20 And there came against him Thalgaphellasar king of Assyria, and he afflicted him.
Și Tilgat-Pilneser, împăratul Asiriei, a venit la el și l-a strâmtorat, și nu l-a întărit.
21 And Achaz took the things [that were] in the house of the Lord, and the things in the house of the king, and of the princes, and gave them to the king of Assyria: but he was no help to him,
Cu toate că Ahaz a luat o porție din casa DOMNULUI și din casa împăratului și a prinților și a dat-o împăratului Asiriei, totuși el nu l-a ajutat.
22 but only [troubled him] in his affliction: and he departed yet more from the Lord, and king Achaz said,
Și în timpul strâmtorării lui a încălcat legea și mai mult împotriva DOMNULUI, acest împărat Ahaz.
23 I will seek after the gods of Damascus that smite me. And he said, Forasmuch as the gods of the king of Syria themselves strengthen them, therefore will I sacrifice to them, and they will help me. But they became a stumbling-block to him, and to all Israel.
Fiindcă a sacrificat dumnezeilor Damascului, care l-a lovit, iar el a spus: Pentru că dumnezeii împăraților Siriei îi ajută, le voi sacrifica lor, ca să mă ajute. Dar ei au fost ruina lui și a întregului Israel.
24 And Achaz removed the vessels of the house of the Lord, and cut them in pieces, and shut the doors of the house of the Lord, and made to himself altars in every corner in Jerusalem:
Și Ahaz a adunat vasele casei lui Dumnezeu și a tăiat în bucăți vasele casei lui Dumnezeu și a închis ușile casei DOMNULUI și și-a făcut altare în fiecare colț al Ierusalimului.
25 and in each several city in Juda he made high places to burn incense to strange gods: and they provoked the Lord God of their fathers.
Și în fiecare cetate din Iuda a făcut înălțimi, să ardă tămâie altor dumnezei și a provocat la mânie pe DOMNUL Dumnezeul părinților lui.
26 And the rest of his acts, and his deeds, the first and the last, behold, [they are] written in the book of the kings of Juda and Israel.
Și restul faptelor lui și toate căile lui, cele dintâi și cele din urmă, iată, sunt scrise în cartea împăraților lui Iuda și Israel.
27 And Achaz slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David; for they did not bring him into the sepulchres of the kings of Israel: and Ezekias his son reigned in his stead.
Și Ahaz a adormit cu părinții lui și l-au îngropat în cetate, în Ierusalim, dar nu l-au dus în mormintele împăraților lui Israel; și Ezechia, fiul său, a domnit în locul lui.
