Chronicles II 2
1 And Solomon said that he would build a house to the name of the Lord, and a house for his kingdom.
Sasa Selemani akaamuru kulijengea nyumba jina la Yahwe na nyumamba kwa ajili ya ikulu ya ufalme wake.
2 And Solomon gathered seventy thousand men that bore burdens, and eighty thousand hewers of stone in the mountain, and [there were] three thousand six hundred superintendents over them.
Selemeni akateua wanaume elfu sabini wabebe mizigo, na wanaume elfu themanini wa kukata mbao katika mlima, na wanaume 3, 600 kwa ajili ya kusimamia.
3 And Solomon sent to Chiram king of Tyre, saying, Whereas thou didst deal [favourably] with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build for himself a house to dwell in,
Selemani akatuma ujumbe kwa Hiramu, mfalme wa Tiro, ukisema, “Kama ulivyofanya na Daudi baba yangu, ulivyomtumia magogo ya mierezi ili ajenge nyumba ya kuishi, fanya hivyo hivyo na mimi.
4 behold, I also his son am building a house to the name of the Lord my God, to consecrate it to him, to burn incense before him, and [to offer] shewbread continually, and to offer up whole-burnt-offerings continually morning and evening, and on the sabbaths, and at the new moons, and at the feasts of the Lord our God: this [is] a perpetual [statute] for Israel.
Tazama, niko karibu kujenga nyumba kwa ajili ya jina la Yahwe Mungu wangu, kuiweka wakifu kwake, kwa ajili ya kumtolea sadaka za kuteketezwa zenye viungo vitamu mbele zake, kwa ajili ya mkate wa uwepo, na kwa ajili ya sadaka za kuteketezwa asubuhi na jioni, katika siku za Sabato na za mwezi mpya, na katika sikukuu zilizoteuliwa kwa ajili ya Yahwe Mungu wetu. Hii itakuwa milele, kwa Israeli.
5 And the house which I am building [is to be] great: for the Lord our God [is] great beyond all gods.
Nyumba nitakayoijenga itakuwa kubwa sana, maana Mungu wetu ni mkuu kuliko miungu mingine yote.
6 And who will be able to build him a house? for the heaven and heaven of heavens do not bear his glory: and who am I, that I should build him a house, save only to burn incense before him?
Lakini ni nani anayeweza kumjengea Mungu nyumba, kama dunia yote na hata mbigu yenyewe haviwezi kumtosha? Mimi ni nani hata nimjengee nyumba, ispokuwa sadaka kwa ajili ya sadaka za kufukiza mbele zake?
7 And now send me a man wise and skilled to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and in scarlet, and in blue, and one that knows how to grave together with the craftsmen who are with me in Juda and in Jerusalem, which materials my father David prepared.
Kwa hiyo nileteeni mtu mwenye ujuzi wa kazi katika kazi ya dhahabu, fedha, shaba, na chuma, na ya dhambarau, na nyekundu, na sufu ya samawati, mtu anayejua kutengeza aina zote za mapambo ya mbao. Atakuwa na watu wenye ustadi waliopamoja nami katika Yuda na Yerusalemu, ambao Daudi baba yangu aliwaweka.
8 And send me from Libanus cedar wood, and wood of juniper, and pine; for I know that thy servants are skilled in cutting timber in Libanus: and, behold, thy servants shall go with my servants,
Nitumieni pia mierezi, miberoshi, na miti ya msandali kutoka Lebanoni, maana najua ya kuwa watumishi wako wanajua jinsi ya kukata mbao katika Lebanoni. Angalia, watumishi wangu watakuwa na watumishi wako,
9 to prepare timber for me in abundance: for the house which I am building [must be] great and glorious.
ili kwamba watayarishe mbao nyingi kwa ajili yangu, maana nyumba ninayotaka kuijenga itakuwa kubwa na ya ajabu.
10 And, behold, I have given freely to thy servants that work and cut the wood, corn for food, [even] twenty thousand measures of wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand measures of wine, and twenty thousand measures of oil.
Angalia, nitawapa watumishi wako, watu watakaozikata mbao, kori ishirini elfu za ngano ya aridhini, kori ishirini elfu za shayiri, bathi ishirini elfu za mvinyo, na bathi ishirini elfu za mafuta.” (Maandishsi ya kale yanasema: “kori ishirini elfu za ngano kama chakula”).
11 And Chiram king of Tyre answered in writing, and sent to Solomon, saying, Because the Lord loved his people, he made thee king over them.
Kisha Hiramu, mfalme wa Tiro, akajibu kwa maandishi, ambayo alimtumia Selemani: “Kwa kuwa Yahwe anawapenda watu wake, amekufanya kuwa mfalme juu yao.”
12 And Chiram said, Blessed [be] the Lord God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, who has given to king David a wise son, and one endowed with knowledge and understanding, who shall build a house for the Lord, and a house for his kingdom.
Zaidi ya hayo, Hiramu akasema, “Abarikiwe Yahwe, Mungu wa Israeli, aliyeziumba mbingu na dunia, amempa Daudi mwana mwenye hekima, mwenye karama ya busara na uelewa, ambaye atajenga nyumba kwa aajili ya Yahwe, na nyumba kwa ajili ya ufalme wake.
13 And now I have sent thee a wise and understanding man [who belonged] to Chiram my father
Sasa nimemtum mtu mwenye ujuzi, mwenye karama ya uelewa, Hiramu, mtaalamu wangu.
14 (his mother [was] of the daughters of Dan, and his father [was] a Tyrian), skilled to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in stones and wood; and to weave with purple, and blue, and fine linen, and scarlet; and to engrave, and to understand every device, whatsoever thou shalt give him [to do] with thy craftsmen, and the craftsmen of my lord David thy father.
Ni mwana wa mwanamke wa binti za Dani. Baba yake alikuwa mtu kutoka Tiro. Ana ujuzi katika kazi za dhahabu, fedha, shaba, chuma, mawe, na katika mbao, na katika dhambarau, samawati, na sufu yenkundu, na kitani safi. Pia ana ujuzi katika kutengeneza michoro ya aina yoyote na katika kubuni kitu chochote. Apatiwe nafsi miongoni mwa watumishi wako wenye ujuzi, na pamoja na wale wa bwana wangu, Daudi, baba yako.
15 And now, the wheat, and the barley, and the oil, and the wine which my lord mentioned, let him send to his servants.
Sasa, ngano na shayiri, mafuta na mvinyo, ambayo bwana wangu aliisema, na apeleke sasa vitu hivi kwa watumishi wake.
16 And we will cut timber out of Libanus according to all thy need, and we will bring it on rafts to the sea of Joppa, and thou shalt bring it to Jerusalem.
Tutakata mbao kutoka Lebanoni, mbao nyingi kadri unavyohitaji. Tutazileta kwako kama mitumbwi kupitia bahari kwenda Yafa, na utazibeba hadi Yerusalemu.”
17 And Solomon gathered all the foreigners that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering with which David his father numbered them; and there were found a hundred and fifty-three thousand six hundred.
Selemani akawahesabu watu wageni waliokuwa katika nchi ya Israeli, kwa kutumia njia ya Daudi, baba yake, aliyoitumia kuwahesabu. Walikutwa wako 153, 600.
18 And he made of them seventy thousand burden-bearers, and eighty thousand hewers of stone, and three thousand six hundred taskmasters over the people.
Miongoni mwao aliwateua sabini elfu ili wabebe mizigo, themanini elfu kuwa wakataji wa mbao katika milima, na 3, 600 kuwa wasimamizi wa kuwasimamia watu wafanye kazi.
