< Chronicles II 17 >
1 And Josaphat his son reigned in his stead, Josaphat strengthened himself against Israel.
Yehosafat ɖu fia ɖe fofoa, Asa teƒe eye wòglã eɖokui ɖe Israel fia ŋu.
2 And he put garrisons in all the strong cities of Juda, and appointed captains in all the cities of Juda, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.
Eda asrafowo ɖe Yuda du siwo woglã la me kple teƒe vovovowo le dukɔ la me kple Efraim, du siwo fofoa Asa xɔ la me.
3 And the Lord was with Josaphat, for he walked in the first ways of his father, and did not seek to idols;
Yehowa nɔ kple Yehosafat elabena ewɔ nu nyui abe ale si fofoa wɔ le eƒe fiaɖuɖu ƒe ƒe gbãtɔwo me ene eye mesubɔ legbawo o.
4 but he sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in the commandments of his father, and not according to the works of Israel.
Ewɔ fofoa ƒe Mawu ƒe sewo dzi eye menɔ abe ame siwo nɔ Israel ene la kura o.
5 And the Lord prospered the kingdom in his hand; and all Juda gave gifts to Josaphat; and he had great wealth and glory.
Esia ta Yehowa na wòli ke abe Yuda fia ene. Yuda ƒe viwo katã xea woƒe dugawo ale wòzu kesinɔtɔ gã aɖe eye amewo lɔ̃e ŋutɔ.
6 And his heart was exalted in the way of the Lord; and he removed the high places and the groves from the land of Juda.
Ezɔ Mawu ƒe mɔwo dzi dzideƒotɔe; ekaka trɔ̃subɔlawo ƒe vɔsamlekpuiwo le togbɛawo dzi eye wòho aƒeliwo gɔ̃ hã.
7 And in the third year of his reign, he sent his chief men, and his mighty men, Abdias and Zacharias, and Nathanael, and Michaias, to teach in the cities of Juda.
Le eƒe fiaɖuɖu ƒe ƒe etɔ̃lia me la, eɖo ame aɖewo ɖa be woafia nu amewo le Yuda duwo me. Ame siawoe nye Ben Hail, Obadia, Zekaria, Netanel kple Mikaya.
8 And with them [were] the Levites, Samaias, and Nathanias, and Zabdias, and Asiel, and Semiramoth, and Jonathan, and Adonias, and Tobias, and Tobadonias, Levites, and with them Elisama and Joram, the priests.
Levi ƒe vi asieke kple nunɔla eve kpe ɖe wo ŋu. Levi ƒe viawoe nye Semaya, Netania, Zebadia, Asahel, Semiramɔt, Yehonatan, Adoniya, Tobiya, Tob Adoniya kpakple nunɔlawo Elisama kple Yehoram.
9 And they taught in Juda, and [there was] with them the book of the law of the Lord, and they passed through the cities of Juda, and taught the people.
Wotsɔ Yehowa ƒe Segbalẽ la ɖe asi, hetsa le Yuda duwo katã me eye wofia Ŋɔŋlɔ Kɔkɔe la ameawo.
10 And a terror of the Lord was upon all the kingdoms of the land round about Juda, and they made no war against Josaphat.
Vɔvɔ̃ na Yehowa dze fiaɖuƒe siwo ƒo xlã Yuda la dzi ale wo dometɔ aɖeke meho aʋa ɖe Yehosafat ŋu o.
11 And [some] of the Philistines brought to Josaphat gifts, and silver, and presents; and the Arabians brought him seven thousand seven hundred rams.
Filistitɔ aɖewo gɔ̃ hã tsɔ nunanawo vɛ nɛ eye wodzɔa nu nɛ ƒe sia ƒe. Nu siwo Arabiatɔwo nae la woe nye: agbo akpe adre alafa adre kple gbɔ̃tsu akpe adre alafa adre.
12 And Josaphat increased in greatness exceedingly, and built in Judea places of abode, and strong cities.
Ale Yehosafat kpɔ ŋusẽ ŋutɔ; etu mɔwo eye wòtso nudzraɖoƒe duwo ɖe Yudanyigba ƒe akpa ɖe sia ɖe dzi.
13 And he had many works in Judea: and the mighty men of war, [the men] of strength, [were] in Jerusalem.
Ewɔ ɖoɖowo ɖe dukɔmedɔ geɖewo wɔwɔ ŋu eye wòda aʋakɔ gã aɖe ɖe Yerusalem, si nye eƒe fiadu la me.
14 And this [is] their number according to the houses of their fathers; even the captains of thousands in Juda [were], Ednas the chief, and with him mighty men of strength three hundred thousand.
Woƒe xexlẽme le woƒe ƒomewo nu nɔ ale: tso Yuda la, aʋawɔla akpe ɖekaɖekawo nunɔlawo nɔ anyi eye aʋawɔla akpe alafa etɔ̃ nɔ woƒe aʋafia, Adna te.
15 And after him, Joanan the captain, and with him two hundred eighty thousand.
Yehohanan nye aʋafia si kplɔe ɖo eye wònɔ aʋawɔla akpe alafa eve blaenyi nu.
16 And after him Amasias the [son] of Zari, who was zealous for the Lord; and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of strength.
Ame si kplɔ eya hã ɖoe nye Amasia, Zikri ƒe vi, ame si nye mawuvɔ̃la akuaku aɖe; eya kpɔ aʋawɔla akpe alafa eve dzi.
17 And out of Benjamin [there was] a mighty man of strength, even Eliada, and with him two hundred thousand archers and targeteers.
Aʋawɔla akpe alafa eve tso Benyamin ƒe viwo dome; wotsɔ datiwo, aŋutrɔwo kple akpoxɔnuwo eye wonɔ aʋafia xɔŋkɔ Eliada te.
18 And after him Jozabad, and with him a hundred and eighty thousand mighty men of war.
Ame si kplɔe ɖo lae nye Yehozabad eye wòkplɔ aʋawɔla akpe alafa ɖeka blaenyi, ame siwo xɔ hehe nyuie.
19 These were the king's servants besides those whom the king put in the strong cities in all Judea.
Aʋawɔla siawo nɔ Yerusalem kpe ɖe esiwo fia la da ɖe du siwo woglã le dukɔ blibo la me la ŋuti.
