Chronicles II 11
1 And Roboam came to Jerusalem; and he assembled Juda and Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand young men fit for war, and he waged war with Israel to recover the kingdom to Roboam.
രെഹബെയാം ജെറുശലേമിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം യെഹൂദാഗോത്രത്തെയും ബെന്യാമീൻഗോത്രത്തെയും വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി. അവർ ഒരുലക്ഷത്തി എൺപതിനായിരം യോദ്ധാക്കൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഇസ്രായേലിനോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്യുന്നതിനും രെഹബെയാമിന്റെ രാജ്യം പുനഃസ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിനും ആയിരുന്നു അവരെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടിയത്.
2 And the Word of the Lord came to Samaias the man of God, saying,
എന്നാൽ ദൈവപുരുഷനായ ശെമയ്യാവിന് ഇപ്രകാരം യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായി:
3 Speak to Roboam the [son] of Solomon, and to all Juda and Benjamin, saying,
“യെഹൂദാരാജാവും ശലോമോന്റെ പുത്രനുമായ രെഹബെയാമിനോടും ഇസ്രായേലിലുള്ള യെഹൂദാഗോത്രത്തിലെയും ബെന്യാമീൻഗോത്രത്തിലെയും സകലജനത്തോടും പറയുക:
4 Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, and ye shall not war against your brethren: return every one to his home; for this thing is of me. And they hearkened to the word of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
‘നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരങ്ങളായ ഇസ്രായേല്യരോടു യുദ്ധത്തിനു പോകരുത്. നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തനും താന്താങ്ങളുടെ ഭവനത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുക. ഈ കാര്യം എന്റെ ഇഷ്ടപ്രകാരം സംഭവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു,’ എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.” അങ്ങനെ അവർ യഹോവയുടെ വചനമനുസരിച്ച്; യൊരോബെയാമിനെതിരേ നീങ്ങുന്നതിൽനിന്ന് പിന്തിരിയുകയും ചെയ്തു.
5 And Roboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and he built walled cities in Judea.
രെഹബെയാം ജെറുശലേമിൽ താമസിക്കുകയും യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ പ്രതിരോധത്തിനുവേണ്ട പട്ടണങ്ങൾ പണിയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
6 And he built Bethleem, and Aetan and Thecoe,
ബേത്ലഹേം, ഏതാം, തെക്കോവ,
7 and Baethsura, and Sochoth, and Odollam,
ബേത്ത്-സൂർ, സോഖോ, അദുല്ലാം,
8 and Geth, and Marisa, and Ziph,
ഗത്ത്, മാരേശാ, സീഫ്,
9 and Adorai, and Lachis, and Azeca,
അദോരയീം, ലാഖീശ്, അസേക്കാ,
10 and Saraa, and Aelom, and Chebron, which belong to Juda and Benjamin, walled cities.
സോരാ, അയ്യാലോൻ, ഹെബ്രോൻ എന്നിവയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം യെഹൂദ്യയിലും ബെന്യാമീനിലും കോട്ടകെട്ടി ഉറപ്പിച്ച നഗരങ്ങൾ.
11 And he fortified them with walls, and placed in them captains, and stores of provisions, oil and wine,
അദ്ദേഹം പ്രതിരോധത്തിനുള്ള അവരുടെ കോട്ടകൾ ബലപ്പെടുത്തി അവയിൽ സൈന്യാധിപന്മാരെ നിയോഗിച്ചു; ഭക്ഷണസാധനങ്ങൾ, ഒലിവെണ്ണ, വീഞ്ഞ് എന്നിവ സംഭരിച്ചുവെച്ചു.
12 shields and spears in every several city, and he fortified them very strongly, and he had on his side Juda and Benjamin.
പരിചകളും കുന്തങ്ങളും എല്ലാ നഗരങ്ങളിലും അദ്ദേഹം ശേഖരിച്ചുവെച്ചു; തന്നെയുമല്ല, അതിന്റെ സുരക്ഷയ്ക്കുവേണ്ട എല്ലാ ക്രമീകരണങ്ങളും ചെയ്തു. അങ്ങനെ യെഹൂദയും ബെന്യാമീനും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിൽ തുടർന്നു.
13 And the priests and the Levites who were in all Israel were gathered to him out of all the coasts.
ഇസ്രായേലിൽ എല്ലായിടത്തുനിന്നുമുള്ള പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരും രെഹബെയാമിന്റെ പക്ഷംചേർന്നു.
14 For the Levites left the tents of their possession, and went to Juda to Jerusalem, because Jeroboam and his sons had ejected them so that they should not minister to the Lord.
യൊരോബെയാമും പുത്രന്മാരും ലേവ്യരെ യഹോവയുടെ പുരോഹിതന്മാർ എന്നു കരുതാതെ അവഗണിച്ചിരുന്നു. അതിനാൽ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരും തങ്ങളുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും സമ്പത്തും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചിട്ട് യെഹൂദ്യയിലും ജെറുശലേമിലും വന്നുചേർന്നു.
15 And he made for himself priests of the high places, and for the idols, and for the vanities, and for the calves which Jeroboam made.
യൊരോബെയാം താനുണ്ടാക്കിയ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ തന്റെ സ്വന്തം പുരോഹിതന്മാരെ നിയമിച്ചു. അവിടെ അവർ ആടുകളുടെയും കാളക്കിടാങ്ങളുടെയും വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ ഭജിച്ചുവന്നു.
16 And he cast out from the tribes of Israel those who set their heart to seek the Lord God of Israel: and they came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice to the Lord God of their fathers.
ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ സകലഗോത്രങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കാൻ മനസ്സുവെച്ച എല്ലാവരും ലേവ്യരെ പിൻതുടർന്ന് തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയ്ക്കു യാഗങ്ങൾ അർപ്പിക്കാൻ ജെറുശലേമിലേക്കു വന്നു.
17 And they strengthened the kingdom of Juda; and [Juda] strengthened Roboam the [son] of Solomon for three years, for he walked three years in the ways of David and Solomon.
മൂന്നുവർഷക്കാലം അവർ യെഹൂദാരാജ്യത്തെ പ്രബലമാക്കുകയും ശലോമോന്റെ മകനായ രെഹബെയാമിനു പിന്തുണ കൊടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഈ കാലമത്രയും അവർ ദാവീദിന്റെയും ശലോമോന്റെയും കാൽച്ചുവടുകൾ പിൻതുടരുന്നതിൽ വിശ്വസ്തരായി നിലകൊണ്ടു.
18 And Roboam took to himself for a wife, Moolath daughter of Jerimuth the son of David, and Abigaia daughter of Heliab the son of Jessae.
ദാവീദിന്റെ മകനായ യെരീമോത്തിന്റെയും യിശ്ശായിയുടെ മകൻ എലീയാബിന്റെ മകളായ അബീഹയിലിന്റെയും മകളായ മഹലാത്തിനെ രെഹബെയാം വിവാഹംകഴിച്ചു.
19 And she bore him sons; Jeus, and Samoria, and Zaam.
അവൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് യെയൂശ്, ശെമര്യാവ്, സാഹാം എന്നീ പുത്രന്മാരെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.
20 And afterwards he took to himself Maacha the daughter of Abessalom; and she bore him Abia, and Jetthi, and Zeza, and Salemoth.
അവൾക്കുശേഷം അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ മകളായ മയഖായെ രെഹബെയാം ഭാര്യയായി സ്വീകരിച്ചു. അവൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് അബീയാവ്, അത്ഥായി, സീസ, ശെലോമീത്ത് എന്നിവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.
21 And Roboam loved Maacha the daughter of Abessalom more than all his wives and all his concubines: for he had eighteen wives and sixty concubines; and he begot twenty-eight sons, and sixty daughters.
രെഹബെയാം അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ മകളായ മയഖായെ തന്റെ മറ്റു ഭാര്യമാരെക്കാളും വെപ്പാട്ടിമാരെക്കാളും കൂടുതലായി സ്നേഹിച്ചിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ആകെ പതിനെട്ടു ഭാര്യമാരും അറുപത് വെപ്പാട്ടികളും ഇരുപത്തിയെട്ടു പുത്രന്മാരും അറുപതു പുത്രിമാരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
22 And he made Abia the son of Maacha chief, [even] a leader among his brethren, for he intended to make him king.
മയഖായുടെ മകനായ അബീയാവിനെ രാജാവാക്കാൻ രെഹബെയാം താത്പര്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. അതിനാൽ അബീയാവിനെ അവന്റെ സകലസഹോദരന്മാരിൽവെച്ചും മുഖ്യരാജകുമാരനായി രെഹബെയാം അവരോധിച്ചു.
23 And he was exalted beyond all his [other] sons in all the coasts of Juda and Benjamin, and in the strong cities; and he gave them provisions in great abundance: and he desired many wives.
രെഹബെയാം തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ ചിലരെ യെഹൂദ്യയിലും ബെന്യാമീനിലും ഉടനീളമുള്ള ദേശങ്ങളിലും കോട്ടകെട്ടി ഉറപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള നഗരങ്ങളിലും ചില ദൗത്യങ്ങൾ നൽകി അയച്ചിരുന്നു; അങ്ങനെ അദ്ദേഹം ബുദ്ധിപൂർവം പെരുമാറി. രെഹബെയാം അവർക്ക് ധാരാളം ഭക്ഷണസാധനങ്ങൾ നൽകുകയും അവർക്കുവേണ്ട ഭാര്യമാരെ സമ്പാദിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
