Kings III 2
1 And the days of David drew near that he should die: and he addressed his son Solomon, saying, I go the way of all the earth:
E achegaram-se os dias de Davi para morrer, e mandou a Salomão seu filho, dizendo:
2 but be thou strong, and shew thyself a man;
Eu vou pelo caminho de toda a terra: esforça-te, e sê homem.
3 and keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep the commandments and the ordinances and the judgments which are written in the law of Moses; that thou mayest understand what thou shalt do in all things that I command thee:
Guarda a ordenança do SENHOR teu Deus, andando em seus caminhos, e observando seus estatutos e mandamentos, e seus direitos e seus testemunhos, da maneira que está escrito na lei de Moisés, para que sejas bem-sucedido em tudo o que fizeres, e em tudo aquilo a que te voltares.
4 that the Lord may confirm his word which he spoke, saying, If thy children shall take heed to their way to walk before me in truth with all their heart, [I promise thee], saying, there shall not fail thee a man on the throne of Israel.
Para que confirme o SENHOR a palavra que me falou, dizendo: Se teus filhos guardarem seu caminho, andando diante de mim com verdade, de todo seu coração, e de toda sua alma, jamais, disse, faltará a ti homem do trono de Israel.
5 Moreover thou knowest all that Joab the son of Saruia did to me, what he did to the two captains of the forces of Israel, to Abenner the son of Ner, and to Amessai the son of Jether, that he slew them, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put innocent blood on his girdle that was about his loins, and on his sandal that was on his foot.
E já sabes tu o que me fez Joabe filho de Zeruia, o que fez a dois generais do exército de Israel, a Abner filho de Ner, e a Amasa filho de Jéter, os quais ele matou, derramando em paz o sangue de guerra, e pondo o sangue de guerra em seu cinto que tinha em sua cintura, e nos sapatos que tinha em seus pés.
6 Therefore thou shalt deal [with him] according to thy wisdom, and thou shalt not bring down his grey hairs in peace to the grave. (Sheol h7585)
Tu, pois, farás conforme a tua sabedoria; não o deixarás descer ao Xeol na velhice em paz. (Sheol h7585)
7 But thou shalt deal kindly with the sons of Berzelli the Galaadite, and they shall be among those that eat at thy table; for thus they drew nigh to me when I fled from the face of thy brother Abessalom.
Mas aos filhos de Barzilai gileadita farás misericórdia, que sejam dos convidados a tua mesa; porque eles vieram assim a mim, quando ia fugindo de Absalão teu irmão.
8 And, behold, [there is] with thee Semei the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Baurim: and he cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went into the camp; and he came down to Jordan to meet me, and I swore to him by the Lord, saying, I will not put thee to death with the sword.
Também tens contigo Simei, filho de Gera, filho de Benjamim, de Baurim, o qual me amaldiçoou com uma severa maldição no dia em que eu ia a Maanaim. Mas ele mesmo desceu para me receber junto ao Jordão, e eu lhe jurei pelo SENHOR, dizendo: Eu não te matarei à espada
9 But thou shalt by no means hold him guiltless, for thou art a wise man, and wilt know what thou shalt do to him, and shalt bring down his grey hairs with blood to the grave. (Sheol h7585)
Porém agora não o absolverás; porque és homem sábio, e sabes como agirás para com ele; e farás seus cabelos grisalhos descerem com sangue ao Xeol. (Sheol h7585)
10 And David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.
E Davi descansou com seus pais, e foi sepultado na cidade de Davi.
11 And the days which David reigned over Israel [were] forty years; he reigned seven years in Chebron, and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.
Os dias que reinou Davi sobre Israel foram quarenta anos: sete anos reinou em Hebrom, e trinta e três anos reinou em Jerusalém.
12 And Solomon sat on the throne of his father David, and his kingdom was established greatly.
E se sentou Salomão no trono de Davi seu pai, e foi seu reino firme em grande maneira.
13 And Adonias the son of Aggith came in to Bersabee the mother of Solomon, and did obeisance to her: and she said, Dost thou enter peaceably? and he said, Peaceably:
Então Adonias filho de Hagite veio a Bate-Seba mãe de Salomão; e ela disse: É tua vinda de paz? E ele respondeu: Sim, de paz.
14 I have business with thee. And she said to him, Say on.
Em seguida disse: Uma palavra tenho que te dizer. E ela disse: Dize.
15 And he said to her, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and all Israel turned their face toward me for a king; but the kingdom was turned [from me] and became my brother's: for it was [appointed] to him from the Lord.
E ele disse: Tu sabes que o reino era meu, e que todo Israel havia posto em mim seu rosto, para que eu reinasse: mas o reino foi traspassado, e veio a meu irmão; porque pelo SENHOR era seu.
16 And now I make one request of thee, do not turn away thy face. And Bersabee said to him, Speak [on].
E agora eu te faço uma petição: não a negues a mim. E ela lhe disse: Fala.
17 And he said to her, Speak, I pray thee, to king Solomon, for he will not turn away his face from thee, and let him give me Abisag the Somanite for a wife.
Ele então disse: Eu te rogo que fales ao rei Salomão (porque ele não negará a ti), para que me dê a Abisague, a sunamita, por mulher.
18 And Bersabee said, Well; I will speak for thee to the king.
E Bate-Seba disse: Está bem; eu falarei por ti ao rei.
19 And Bersabee went in to king Solomon to speak to him concerning Adonias; and the king rose up to meet her, and kissed her, and sat on the throne, and a throne was set for the mother of the king, and she sat on his right hand.
E veio Bate-Seba ao rei Salomão para falar-lhe por Adonias. E o rei se levantou a recebê-la, e inclinou-se a ela, e voltou a sentar-se em seu trono, e fez pôr uma cadeira à mãe do rei, a qual se sentou à sua direita.
20 And she said to him, I ask of thee one little request; turn not away my face from thee. And the king said to her, Ask, my mother, and I will not reject thee.
E ela disse: Uma pequena petição pretendo de ti; não me negues. E o rei lhe disse: Pede, minha mãe, que eu não te negarei.
21 And she said, Let, I pray thee, Abisag the Somanite be given to Adonias thy brother to wife.
E ela disse: Dê-se Abisague, a sunamita, por mulher a teu irmão Adonias.
22 And king Solomon answered and said to his mother, And why hast thou asked Abisag for Adonias? ask for him the kingdom also; for he [is] my elder brother, and he has for his companion Abiathar the priest, and Joab the son of Saruia the commander-in-chief.
E o rei Salomão respondeu, e disse a sua mãe: Por que pedes a Abisague sunamita para Adonias? Pede também para ele o reino, porque ele é meu irmão maior; e tem também a Abiatar sacerdote, e a Joabe filho de Zeruia.
23 And king Solomon swore by the Lord, saying, God do so to me, and more also, [if it be not] that Adonias has spoken this word against his own life.
E o rei Salomão jurou pelo SENHOR, dizendo: Assim me faça Deus e assim me acrescente, que contra sua vida falou Adonias esta palavra.
24 And now [as] the Lord lives who has established me, and set me on the throne of my father David, and he has made me a house, as the Lord spoke, this day shall Adonias be put to death.
Agora, pois, vive o SENHOR, que me confirmou e me pôs sobre o trono de Davi meu pai, e que me fez casa, como me havia dito, que Adonias morrerá hoje.
25 So king Solomon sent by the hand of Banaeas the son of Jodae, and he slew him, and Adonias died in that day.
Então o rei Salomão enviou por meio de Benaia filho de Joiada, o qual o golpeou de maneira que ele morreu.
26 And the king said to Abiathar the priest, Depart thou quickly to Anathoth to thy farm, for thou art worthy of death this day; but I will not slay thee, because thou hast borne the ark of the covenant of the Lord before my father, and because thou was afflicted in all things wherein my father was afflicted.
E a Abiatar sacerdote disse o rei: Vai-te a Anatote a tuas propriedades, que tu és digno de morte; mas não te matarei hoje, porquanto levaste a arca do Senhor DEUS diante de Davi meu pai, e, além disso, foste aflito em todas as coisas em que meu pai foi aflito.
27 And Solomon removed Abiathar from being a priest of the Lord, that the word of the Lord might be fulfilled, which he spoke concerning the house of Heli in Selom.
Assim expulsou Salomão a Abiatar do sacerdócio do SENHOR, para que se cumprisse a palavra do SENHOR que havia dito sobre a casa de Eli em Siló.
28 And the report came to Joab son of Saruia; for Joab had turned after Adonias, and he went not after Solomon: and Joab fled to the tabernacle of the Lord, and caught hold of the horns of the altar.
E veio a notícia até Joabe: porque também Joabe se havia aderido a Adonias, se bem não se havia aderido a Absalão. E fugiu Joabe ao tabernáculo do SENHOR, e agarrou-se às pontas do altar.
29 And it was told Solomon, saying, Joab has fled to the tabernacle of the Lord, and lo! he has hold of the horns of the altar. And king Solomon sent to Joab, saying, What ails thee, that thou hast fled to the altar? and Joab said, Because I was afraid of thee, and fled for refuge to the Lord. And Solomon sent Banaeas son of Jodae, saying, Go and slay him, and bury him.
E foi feito saber a Salomão que Joabe havia fugido ao tabernáculo do SENHOR, e que estava junto ao altar. Então enviou Salomão a Benaia filho de Joiada, dizendo: Vai, e golpeia-o.
30 And Banaeas son of Jodae came to Joab to the tabernacle of the Lord, and said to him, Thus says the king, Come forth. And Joab said, I will not come forth, for I will die here. And Banaeas son of Jodae returned and spoke to the king, saying, Thus has Joab spoken, and thus has he answered me.
E entrou Benaia ao tabernáculo do SENHOR, e disse-lhe: O rei disse que saias. E ele disse: Não, mas sim aqui morrerei. E Benaia voltou com esta resposta ao rei, dizendo: Assim falou Joabe, e assim me respondeu.
31 And the king said to him, Go, and do to him as he has spoken, and kill him: and thou shalt bury him, and thou shalt remove this day the blood which he shed without cause, from me and from the house of my father.
E o rei lhe disse: Faze como ele disse; mata-lhe e enterra-o, e tira de mim e da casa de meu pai o sangue que Joabe derramou injustamente.
32 And the Lord has returned upon his own head the blood of his unrighteousness, inasmuch as he attacked two men more righteous and better than himself, and slew them with the sword, and my father David knew not of their blood, [even] Abenner the son of Ner the commander-in-chief of Israel, and Amessa the son of Jether the commander-in-chief of Juda.
E o SENHOR fará voltar seu sangue sobre sua cabeça; porque ele matou dois homens mais justos e melhores que ele, aos quais matou à espada sem que meu pai, Davi, soubesse nada: a Abner filho de Ner, general do exército de Israel, e a Amasa filho de Jéter, general do exército de Judá.
33 And their blood is returned upon his head, and upon the head of his seed for ever: but to David, and his seed, and his house, and his throne, may there be peace for ever from the Lord.
O sangue deles, pois, recairá sobre a cabeça de Joabe, e sobre a cabeça de sua descendência para sempre; mas sobre Davi e sobre sua descendência, e sobre sua casa e sobre seu trono, haverá perpetuamente paz da parte do SENHOR.
34 So Banaeas son of Jodae went up, and attacked him, and slew him, and buried him in his house in the wilderness.
Então Benaia, filho de Joiada, subiu, e o golpeou, e o matou; e foi sepultado em sua casa no deserto.
35 And the king appointed Banaeas son of Jodae in his place over the host; and the kingdom was established in Jerusalem; and [as for] Sadoc the priest, the king appointed him to be high priest in the room of Abiathar. And Solomon son of David reigned over Israel and Juda in Jerusalem: and the Lord gave understanding to Solomon, and very much wisdom, and largeness of heart, as the sand by the sea-shore.
E o rei pôs em seu lugar a Benaia, filho de Joiada, sobre o exército; e o rei pôs por sacerdote a Zadoque em lugar de Abiatar.
Depois o rei mandou convocar Simei, e disse-lhe: Edifica para ti uma casa em Jerusalém, e mora ali, e não saias de lá à uma parte nem à outra;
porque sabe com certeza que no dia que saíres, e passares o ribeiro de Cedrom, sem dúvida morrerás, e teu sangue será sobre a tua cabeça.
E Simei disse ao rei: A palavra é boa; como o rei, meu senhor, disse, assim teu servo o fará. E Simei morou em Jerusalém por muitos dias.
Porém passados três anos, aconteceu que se lhe fugiram a Simei dois servos a Aquis, filho de Maaca, rei de Gate. E avisaram a Simei, dizendo: Eis que teus servos estão em Gate.
Então Simei se levantou, preparou seu asno, e foi a Gate, a Aquis, para procurar seus servos. Assim Simei foi, e trouxe os seus servos de Gate.
E disseram a Salomão como Simei havia ido de Jerusalém a Gate, e que havia voltado.
Então o rei mandou que convocassem a Simei, e disse-lhe: Não te fiz jurar pelo SENHOR, e te adverti, dizendo: No dia que saíres, e fores para qualquer outro lugar, sabe que com certeza morrerás? E tu me disseste: A palavra é boa, eu a obedecerei.
Por que, pois, não guardaste o juramento do SENHOR, nem o mandamento que te impus?
Disse mais o rei a Simei: Tu sabes toda a maldade, a qual teu coração conhece que cometeste contra meu pai, Davi; por isso o SENHOR retribuiu a tua maldade sobre a tua cabeça.
Mas o rei Salomão será abençoado, e o trono de Davi será confirmado diante do SENHOR para sempre.
Então o rei mandou a Benaia, filho de Joiada, o qual saiu para ferir-lhe; e ele morreu. Assim o reino foi confirmado na mão de Salomão.
