< Chronicles I 7 >
1 And [as] to the sons of Issachar, [they were] Thola, and Phua, and Jasub, and Semeron, four.
Issachar's four sons were Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron.
2 And the sons of Thola; Ozi, Raphaia, and Jeriel, and Jamai, and Jemasan, and Samuel, chiefs of their fathers' houses [belonging to] Thola, men of might according to their generations; their number in the days of David [was] twenty and two thousand and six hundred.
The sons of Tola were Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Samuel. They were the heads of their fathers' houses, from the descendants of Tola and they were listed as mighty warriors among their generation. They numbered 22,600 in the days of David.
3 And the sons of Ozi; Jezraia: and the sons of Jezraia; Michael, Abdiu, and Joel, and Jesia, five, all rulers.
Uzzi's son was Izrahiah. His sons were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Ishijah, all five of them were clan leaders.
4 And with them, according to their generations, according to the houses of their families, [were men] mighty to set [armies] in array for war, thirty and six thousand, for they had multiplied [their] wives and children.
Along with them they had thirty-six thousand troops for battle, according to the lists belonging to their ancestors' clans, for they had many wives and sons.
5 And their brethren among all the families of Issachar, also mighty men, [were] eighty-seven thousand—[this was] the number of them all.
Their relatives were fighting men from all the clans of Issachar, and they numbered in all, eighty-seven thousand fighting men, as listed in their genealogy.
6 The sons of Benjamin; Bale, and Bachir, and Jediel, three.
Benjamin's three sons were Bela, Beker, and Jediael.
7 And the sons of Bale; Esebon, and Ozi, and Oziel, and Jerimuth, and Uri, five; heads of houses of families, mighty men; and their number [was] twenty and two thousand and thirty-four.
Bela's five sons were Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri. They were soldiers and heads of fathers' houses. Their people numbered 22,034 fighting men, according to the lists belonging to their ancestors' clans.
8 And the sons of Bachir; Zemira, and Joas, and Eliezer, and Elithenan, and Amaria, and Jerimuth, and Abiud, and Anathoth, and Eleemeth: all these [were] the sons of Bachir.
Beker's sons were Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth. All these were his sons.
9 And their number according to their generations, ([they were] chiefs of their fathers' houses, men of might), [was] twenty thousand and two hundred.
The lists of their clans numbered 20,200 heads of their fathers' houses and fighting men.
10 And the sons of Jediel; Balaan: and the sons of Balaan; Jaus, and Benjamin, and Aoth, and Chanana, and Zaethan, and Tharsi, and Achisaar.
The son of Jediael was Bilhan. Bilhan's sons were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.
11 All these [were] the sons of Jediel, chiefs of their families, men of might, seventeen thousand and two hundred, going forth to war with might.
All these were sons of Jediael. Listed in their clan lists were 17,200 heads of houses and fighting men fit for military service.
12 And Sapphin, and Apphin, and the sons of Or, Asom, whose son [was] Aor.
(The Shuppites and the Huppites were sons of Ir, and the Hushites were sons of Aher.)
13 The sons of Nephthali; Jasiel, Goni, and Aser, and Sellum, his sons, Balam his son.
Naphtali's sons were Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem. These were Bilhah's grandsons.
14 The sons of Manasse; Esriel, whom his Syrian concubine bore; and she bore to him also Machir the father of Galaad.
Manasseh had a male child named Asriel, whom his Aramean concubine bore. She also gave birth to Makir, Gilead's father.
15 And Machir took a wife for Apphin and Sapphin, and his sister's name was Moocha; and the name of the second [son] was Sapphaad; and to Sapphaad were born daughters.
Makir took a wife from the Huppites and Shuppites. A sister's name was Maakah. Another of Manasseh's descendants was Zelophehad, who had only daughters.
16 And Moocha the wife of Machir bore a son, and called his name Phares; and his brother's name [was] Surus; his sons [were] Ulam, and Rocom.
Maakah wife of Makir, bore a son and she called him Peresh. His brother's name was Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rakem.
17 And the sons of Ulam; Badam. These [were] the sons of Galaad, the son of Machir, the son of Manasse.
Ulam's son was Bedan. These were the descendants of Gilead son of Makir son of Manasseh.
18 And his sister Malecheth bore Isud, and Abiezer, and Maela.
Gilead's sister Hammoleketh bore Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.
19 And the sons of Semira were, Aim, and Sychem, and Lakim, and Anian.
The sons of Shemida were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.
20 And the sons of Ephraim; Sothalath, and Barad his son, and Thaath his son, Elada his son, Saath his son,
The descendants of Ephraim were as follows: Ephraim's son was Shuthelah. Shuthelah's son was Bered. Bered's son was Tahath. Tahath's son was Eleadah. Eleadah's son was Tahath.
21 and Zabad his son, Sothele his son, and Azer, and Elead: and the men of Geth who were born in the land slew them, because they went down to take their cattle.
Tahath's son was Zabad. Zabad's son was Shuthelah. (Ezer and Elead were killed by men of Gath, natives in the land, when they went to steal their cattle.
22 And their father Ephraim mourned many days, and his brethren came to comfort him.
Ephraim their father mourned for them many days, and his brothers came to comfort him.
23 And he went in to his wife, and she conceived, and bore a son, and he called his name Beria, because, [said he], he was afflicted in my house.
He slept with his wife. She conceived and bore a son. Ephraim called him Beriah, because tragedy had come to his family.)
24 And his daughter [was] Saraa, and he was among them that were left, and he built Baethoron the upper and the lower. And the descendants of Ozan [were] Seera,
His daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper Beth Horon and Uzzen Sheerah.
25 and Raphe his son, Saraph and Thalees his sons, Thaen his son.
His son was Rephah. Rephah's son was Resheph. Resheph's son was Telah. Telah's son was Tahan.
26 To Laadan his son [was born his] son Amiud, his son Helisamai, [his] son
Tahan's son was Ladan. Ladan's son was Ammihud. Ammihud's son was Elishama.
27 Nun, [his] son Jesue, [these were] his sons.
Elishama's son was Nun. Nun's son was Joshua.
28 And their possession and their dwelling [were] Baethel and her towns, to the east Noaran, westward Gazer and her towns, and Sychem and her towns, as far as Gaza and her towns.
Their possessions and residences were Bethel and its surrounding villages. They extended eastward to Naaran and westward to Gezer and its villages, and to Shechem and its villages to Ayyah and its villages.
29 And as far as the borders of the sons of Manasse, Baethsaan and her towns, Thanach and her towns, Mageddo and her towns, Dor and her towns. In this the children of Joseph the son of Israel dwelt.
On the border with Manasseh were Beth Shan and its villages, Taanach and its villages, Megiddo and its villages, and Dor and its villages. In these towns the descendants of Joseph son of Israel lived.
30 The sons of Aser; Jemna, and Suia, and Isui, and Beria, and Sore their sister.
Asher's sons were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, and Beriah. Serah was their sister.
31 And the sons of Beria; Chaber, and Melchiel; he [was] the father of Berthaith.
Beriah's sons were Heber and Malkiel, who was the father of Birzaith.
32 And Chaber begot Japhlet, and Samer, and Chothan, and Sola their sister.
Heber's sons were Japhlet, Shomer, and Hotham. Shua was their sister.
33 And the sons of Japhlet; Phasec, and Bamael, and Asith: these [are] the sons of Japhlet.
Japhlet's sons were Pasak, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These were Japhlet's children.
34 And the sons of Semmer; Achir, and Rooga, and Jaba, and Aram.
Shomer, Japhlet's brother, had these sons: Rohgah, Hubbah, and Aram.
35 And the sons of Elam his brother; Sopha, and Imana, and Selles, and Amal.
Shemer's brother, Helem, had these sons: Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.
36 The sons of Sopha; Sue, and Arnaphar, and Suda, and Barin, and Imran,
Zophah's sons were Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah,
37 and Basan, and Oa, and Sama, and Salisa, and Jethra, and Beera.
Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran, and Beera.
38 And the sons of Jether, Jephina, and Phaspha, and Ara.
Jether's sons were Jephunneh, Pispah, and Ara.
39 And the sons of Ola; Orech, Aniel, and Rasia.
Ulla's sons were Arah, Hanniel, and Rizia.
40 All these [were] the sons of Aser, all heads of families, choice, mighty men, chief leaders: their number for battle array—their number [was] twenty-six thousand men.
All these were descendants of Asher. They were ancestors of the clans, heads of fathers' houses, distinguished men, fighting men, and chief among the leaders. There were twenty-six thousand men listed who were fit for military service, according to their numbered lists.
