Chronicles I 17
1 And it came to pass as David dwelt in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord [is] under [curtains] of skins.
ദാവീദ് കൊട്ടാരത്തിൽ താമസമാക്കിയതിനുശേഷം, ഒരിക്കൽ അദ്ദേഹം നാഥാൻ പ്രവാചകനോട്: “ഇതാ, ഞാൻ ദേവദാരുകൊണ്ടുള്ള അരമനയിൽ വസിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ യഹോവയുടെ ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ പേടകമോ, കൂടാരത്തിനുള്ളിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
2 And Nathan said to David, Do all that is in thy heart; for God [is] with thee.
അപ്പോൾ നാഥാൻ: “അങ്ങയുടെ മനസ്സിലുള്ളതൊക്കെയും ചെയ്താലും, ദൈവം അങ്ങയോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ!” എന്നു ദാവീദുരാജാവിനോട് മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു.
3 And it came to pass in that night, that the word of the Lord came to Nathan, [saying],
എന്നാൽ അന്നുരാത്രിതന്നെ നാഥാൻ പ്രവാചകന് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായി:
4 Go and say to David my servant, Thus said the Lord, Thou shalt not build me a house for me to dwell in it.
“നീ ചെന്ന്, യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്ന് എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിനോടു പറയുക: എനിക്ക് അധിവസിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഒരു ആലയം പണിയേണ്ടതു നീയല്ല.
5 For I have not dwelt in a house from the day that I brought up Israel until this day, but I have been in a tabernacle and a tent,
ഞാൻ ഇസ്രായേലിനെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാൾമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെ ഒരു ആലയത്തിലും വസിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. ഞാൻ ഒരു കൂടാരസ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നും മറ്റൊന്നിലേക്കും ഒരു വാസസ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നും മറ്റൊരിടത്തേക്കും മാറിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
6 in all places through which I have gone with all Israel: did I ever speak to [any] one tribe of Israel whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, [Why is it] that ye have not built me a house of cedar?
എല്ലാ ഇസ്രായേലിനോടുംകൂടെ ഞാൻ സഞ്ചരിച്ചിരുന്ന ഇടങ്ങളിൽ എവിടെയെങ്കിലുംവെച്ച്, എന്റെ ജനത്തെ മേയിക്കുന്നതിനു ഞാൻ കൽപ്പിച്ചാക്കിയ നായകന്മാരോട് ആരോടെങ്കിലും, ‘നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി ദേവദാരുകൊണ്ട് ഒരു ആലയം പണിയാത്തത് എന്തുകൊണ്ട്’ എന്നു ഞാൻ എന്നെങ്കിലും ചോദിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ?
7 And now thus shalt thou say to my servant David, Thus saith the Lord Almighty, I took thee from the sheepfold, from following the flocks, to be a ruler over my people Israel:
“അതുകൊണ്ട്, ‘സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നത് ഇപ്രകാരമാണ് എന്ന് എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിനോടു പറയുക: എന്റെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനു ഭരണാധിപനായിരിക്കുന്നതിന് ഞാൻ നിന്നെ മേച്ചിൽപ്പുറത്തുനിന്ന്, ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തെ മേയിച്ചുനടക്കുന്ന സമയത്തു തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു.
8 and I was with thee in all places whither thou wentest, and I destroyed all thine enemies from before thee, and I made for thee a name according to the name of the great ones that are upon the earth.
നീ പോയ ഇടങ്ങളിലെല്ലാം ഞാൻ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെയെല്ലാം നിന്റെ കണ്മുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് ഞാൻ ഛേദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു. ഭൂമിയിലെ മഹാന്മാരുടെ പേരുകൾപോലെ നിന്റെ പേരും ഞാൻ ആക്കിത്തീർക്കും.
9 And I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and I will plant him, and he shall dwell by himself, and shall no longer be anxious; and the son of iniquity shall no longer afflict him, as at the beginning,
ഞാൻ എന്റെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനുവേണ്ടി ഒരു സ്ഥലം ഒരുക്കിക്കൊടുക്കും. അവർക്കു സ്വന്തമായി ഒരു ഭവനം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുകയും ആരും അവരെ ശല്യപ്പെടുത്താതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യത്തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാൻ അവരെ നട്ടുപിടിപ്പിക്കും.
10 and from the days when I appointed judges over my people Israel. Also I have humbled all thine enemies, and I will increase thee, and the Lord will build thee a house.
ഞാൻ എന്റെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനുവേണ്ടി ന്യായാധിപന്മാരെ കൽപ്പിച്ചാക്കിയ കാലത്തെന്നപോലെ ദുഷ്ടജനങ്ങൾ ഇനി ഒരിക്കലും അവരെ ഞെരുക്കുകയില്ല. ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെയെല്ലാം കീഴ്പ്പെടുത്തും. “‘യഹോവ നിനക്കൊരു ഭവനം പണിയുമെന്ന് ഞാനിതാ നിന്നോടു പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നു:
11 And it shall come to pass when thy days shall be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
നിന്റെ ദിനങ്ങൾ പൂർത്തിയാക്കി നീ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ചേരുമ്പോൾ, നിന്റെ സന്തതിയെ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ പിൻഗാമിയാക്കി ഉയർത്തും; നിന്റെ സ്വന്തം പുത്രന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനെത്തന്നെ. ഞാൻ അവന്റെ രാജത്വം സുസ്ഥിരമാക്കും.
12 He shall build me a house, and I will set up his throne for ever.
അവനായിരിക്കും എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി ഒരു ആലയം പണിയുന്നത്. ഞാൻ അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തെ എന്നെന്നേക്കുമായി സ്ഥിരപ്പെടുത്തും.
13 I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son: and my mercy will I not withdraw from him, as I withdrew [it] from them that were before thee.
ഞാൻ അവന്റെ പിതാവും അവൻ എന്റെ പുത്രനും ആയിരിക്കും. ഞാൻ എന്റെ സ്നേഹം അവന്റെ മുൻഗാമിയിൽനിന്നു മാറ്റിയതുപോലെ അവനിൽനിന്നു മാറ്റിക്കളയുകയില്ല.
14 And I will establish him in my house and in his kingdom for ever; and his throne shall be set up for ever.
ഞാൻ അവനെ എന്റെ ഭവനത്തിലും എന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിലും എന്നെന്നേക്കുമായി നിലനിർത്തും. അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനം എന്നെന്നേക്കും സുസ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കും.’”
15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so spoke Nathan to David.
ഈ വെളിപ്പാടിലെ സകലവാക്കുകളും നാഥാൻ ദാവീദിനെ അറിയിച്ചു.
16 And king David came and sat before the Lord, and said, Who am I, O Lord God? and what [is] my house, that thou hast loved me for ever?
അപ്പോൾ ദാവീദുരാജാവ് ഉള്ളിൽക്കടന്ന്, യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പാകെ ഇരുന്ന് ഈ വിധം പ്രാർഥിച്ചു: “ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, അവിടന്ന് അടിയനെ ഇത്രവരെ ആക്കിത്തീർക്കാൻ ഞാൻ ആര്? എന്റെ കുടുംബവും എന്തുള്ളൂ?
17 And these things were little in thy sight, O God: thou hast also spoken concerning the house of thy servant for a long time to come, and thou hast looked upon me as a man looks upon his fellow, and hast exalted me, O Lord God.
അത്രയുമല്ല, എന്റെ ദൈവമേ! അങ്ങയുടെ ഈ ദാസന്റെ ഭവനത്തിന്റെ ഭാവിയെപ്പറ്റിയും അവിടന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തല്ലോ! ഹാ, ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ മനുഷ്യരിൽ അതിശ്രേഷ്ഠൻ എന്നവണ്ണം അങ്ങ് എന്നെ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
18 What shall David do more toward thee to glorify [thee]? and thou knowest thy servant.
“അങ്ങ് ഈ ദാസനു നൽകിയ ബഹുമതിയെപ്പറ്റി ദാവീദ് ഇനി കൂടുതലായി എന്തു പറയേണ്ടൂ? അവിടത്തെ ദാസനെ അങ്ങ് അറിയുന്നല്ലോ!
19 And thou hast wrought all this greatness according to thine heart.
യഹോവേ! അങ്ങയുടെ ഈ ദാസനുവേണ്ടി, തിരുഹിതം അനുസരിച്ച് ഈ മഹാകാര്യങ്ങൾ അവിടന്നു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഈ മഹാവാഗ്ദാനങ്ങൾ എന്നെ അറിയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
20 O Lord, there is none like thee, and there is no God beside thee, according to all things which we have heard with our ears.
“യഹോവേ, ഞങ്ങൾ സ്വന്തം ചെവികൊണ്ടു കേട്ടതുപോലെ, അവിടത്തേക്ക് സദൃശനായി ആരുമില്ല; അവിടന്നല്ലാതെ മറ്റു ദൈവവുമില്ല.
21 Neither is there another nation upon the earth [such] as thy people Israel, whereas God led him in the way, to redeem a people for himself, to make for himself a great and glorious name, to cast out nations from before thy people, whom thou redeemedst out of Egypt.
അവിടത്തെ സ്വന്തം ജനമാക്കിത്തീർക്കുന്നതിനും അങ്ങയുടെ നാമം പ്രസിദ്ധമാകുന്നതിനുമായി ദൈവമേ, അങ്ങുതന്നെ നേരിട്ടുചെന്ന് വീണ്ടെടുത്ത ഭൂമിയിലെ ഏകജനതയായ, അവിടത്തെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനു തുല്യരായി ഭൂമിയിൽ മറ്റ് ഏതു ജനതയാണുള്ളത്? അങ്ങ് ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്നു വീണ്ടെടുത്ത അങ്ങയുടെ ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് മഹത്തും ഭീതിജനകവുമായ അത്ഭുതങ്ങൾ പ്രവർത്തിച്ച് ഇതരജനതകളെ ഓടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.
22 And thou hast appointed thy people Israel as a people to thyself for ever; and thou, Lord, didst become a God to them.
അവിടത്തെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനെ അവിടന്ന് എന്നേക്കും സ്വന്തജനമാക്കിത്തീർത്തു; യഹോവേ, അവിടന്ന് അവർക്കു ദൈവമായും തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
23 And now, Lord, let the word which thou spokest to thy servant, and concerning his house, be confirmed for ever, and do thou as thou hast spoken.
“ഇപ്പോൾ യഹോവേ! അവിടത്തെ ഈ ദാസനെയും അവന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെയുംപറ്റി അവിടന്ന് നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്ന വാഗ്ദാനം എന്നെന്നേക്കും നിലനിൽക്കട്ടെ! അവിടന്നു വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു നിറവേറ്റണമേ!
24 And let thy name [be] established and magnified for ever, [men] saying, Lord, Lord, Almighty God of Israel: and [let] the house of thy servant David [be] established before thee.
അതു സുസ്ഥിരമാകട്ടെ അവിടത്തെ നാമം എന്നേക്കും മഹത്ത്വപ്പെടട്ടെ. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവതന്നെ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമെന്ന് മനുഷ്യർ പ്രകീർത്തിക്കട്ടെ! അങ്ങയുടെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഭവനം തിരുമുമ്പിൽ നിലനിൽക്കും.
25 For thou, O Lord my God, hast revealed to the ear of thy servant that thou wilt build him a house; therefore thy servant has found a willingness to pray before thee.
“എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, അങ്ങയുടെ ഈ ദാസന് ഒരു ഭവനം പണിയുമെന്ന് അങ്ങ് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു! അതിനാൽ അവിടത്തെ ദാസനായ ഞാൻ അങ്ങയോടു പ്രാർഥിക്കാൻ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുന്നു.
26 And now, Lord, thou thyself art God, and thou hast spoken these good things concerning thy servant.
യഹോവേ, അങ്ങുതന്നെ ദൈവം! അവിടത്തെ ദാസനായ അടിയനുവേണ്ടി ഈ നന്മകൾ അവിടന്നു വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
27 And now thou hast begun to bless the house of thy servant, so that it should continue for ever before thee: for thou, Lord, hast blessed [it], and do thou bless [it] for ever.
അവിടത്തെ ദാസനായ അടിയന്റെ ഗൃഹം തിരുമുമ്പിൽ എന്നേക്കും നിലനിൽക്കേണ്ടതിന് അതിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കാൻ തിരുവുള്ളം പ്രസാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു! യഹോവേ, അങ്ങ് അതിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അത് എന്നെന്നേക്കും അനുഗൃഹീതവുമായിരിക്കും.”
