< Chronicles I 17 >

1 And it came to pass as David dwelt in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord [is] under [curtains] of skins.
David te amah im ah a om van nen tah David loh tonghma Nathan taengah, “Kai he lamphai im ah ka om dae BOEIPA kah paipi thingkawng tah himbaiyan hmuiah sut om ke,” a ti nah.
2 And Nathan said to David, Do all that is in thy heart; for God [is] with thee.
Te vaengah Nathan loh David te, “Pathen he nang taengah om coeng tih na thinko khuikah bangla a cungkuem he saii ngawn,” a ti nah.
3 And it came to pass in that night, that the word of the Lord came to Nathan, [saying],
Te khoyin ah tah Pathen kah ol te Nathan taengla pawk tih,
4 Go and say to David my servant, Thus said the Lord, Thou shalt not build me a house for me to dwell in it.
“Cet lamtah ka sal David te thui pah. BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui. Kai hamla om nah im na sak moenih.
5 For I have not dwelt in a house from the day that I brought up Israel until this day, but I have been in a tabernacle and a tent,
Israel ka khuen khohnin lamloh tahae khohnin hil he im khuiah ka om hlan. Tedae dap khat lamloh dap khat neh dungtlungim ah ni ka om.
6 in all places through which I have gone with all Israel: did I ever speak to [any] one tribe of Israel whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, [Why is it] that ye have not built me a house of cedar?
Israel boeih te a cungkuem dongah ka caeh puei. Israel kah laitloek pakhat taengah ol ka thui coeng te ta? Te te ka pilnam luem puei ham ka uen tih, “Balae tih kai hamla lamphai im na sak uh pawh?” ka ti nah.
7 And now thus shalt thou say to my servant David, Thus saith the Lord Almighty, I took thee from the sheepfold, from following the flocks, to be a ruler over my people Israel:
Te dongah ka sal David taengah he he thui pah laeh. Caempuei BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui. Kai loh nang te tolkhoeng lamloh, boiva hnuk lamloh ka pilnam Israel soah rhaengsang la om ham kan loh coeng.
8 and I was with thee in all places whither thou wentest, and I destroyed all thine enemies from before thee, and I made for thee a name according to the name of the great ones that are upon the earth.
Na caeh nah takuem ah nang te kan om puei. Na thunkha boeih te na mikhmuh lamloh ka khoe. Na ming te diklai kah hlanglen ming la ka khueh ni.
9 And I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and I will plant him, and he shall dwell by himself, and shall no longer be anxious; and the son of iniquity shall no longer afflict him, as at the beginning,
Ka pilnam Israel ham hmuen ka khueh vetih anih te ka phung ni. Te vaengah a hmuiah kho a sak vetih tlai voel mahpawh. Lamhma kah bangla anih hmawn sak ham khaw dumlai ca rhoek loh koei uh voel mahpawh.
10 and from the days when I appointed judges over my people Israel. Also I have humbled all thine enemies, and I will increase thee, and the Lord will build thee a house.
Ka pilnam Israel soah lai aka tloek la kang uen khohnin lamloh, “Na thunkha boeih te ka kunyun sak bitni. Te phoeiah namah taengkah ka thui bangla BOEIPA loh nang hamla im han sak bitni.
11 And it shall come to pass when thy days shall be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
Na khohnin loh cum tih na pa rhoek taengla na cet cakhaw na tiingan te namah hnukah ka thoh ni. Na ca rhoek taeng lamloh aka om te khaw a ram ka cikngae sak ni.
12 He shall build me a house, and I will set up his throne for ever.
Anih loh kai hamla im a sak vetih a ngolkhoel te kumhal duela ka cikngae sak ni.
13 I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son: and my mercy will I not withdraw from him, as I withdrew [it] from them that were before thee.
Kai he anih taengah pa la ka om vetih anih khaw kamah taengah capa la om ni. Na hmai ah aka om taeng lamloh ka lat bangla ka sitlohnah he anih taeng lamloh ka lat mahpawh.
14 And I will establish him in my house and in his kingdom for ever; and his throne shall be set up for ever.
Anih te kamah im neh ka ram ah kumhal duela ka pai sak ni. A ngolkhoel khaw kumhal duela a cikngae la om ni,” a ti nah.
15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so spoke Nathan to David.
He ol cungkuem neh hekah mangthui cungkuem bangla Nathan loh David taengah a thui pah tangloeng.
16 And king David came and sat before the Lord, and said, Who am I, O Lord God? and what [is] my house, that thou hast loved me for ever?
Te phoeiah manghai David te cet tih BOEIPA mikhmuh ah ngol. Te vaengah Pathen BOEIPA aw kai he unim?, He la kai nan khuen ham akhaw ka imkhui he mebang nim?
17 And these things were little in thy sight, O God: thou hast also spoken concerning the house of thy servant for a long time to come, and thou hast looked upon me as a man looks upon his fellow, and hast exalted me, O Lord God.
He tah Pathen namah mikhmuh ah rhaidaeng. Tedae a hlahoei lamkah khaw na sal imkhui ham na thui. Tangtlaeng Pathen BOEIPA loh boeimang hlang la kai nan hmuh.
18 What shall David do more toward thee to glorify [thee]? and thou knowest thy servant.
Na sal thangpomnah ham te namah taengah David loh metlam koep a thap eh? Namah loh na sal he na ming coeng.
19 And thou hast wrought all this greatness according to thine heart.
BOEIPA aw na sal ham kong ah lennah cungkuem te ming sak ham na lungbuei kah bangla lennah cungkuem he na saii.
20 O Lord, there is none like thee, and there is no God beside thee, according to all things which we have heard with our ears.
BOEIPA namah bang he om pawt tih Pathen a tloe a om moenih. Tedae namah tah a cungkuem dongah kaimih hna neh kan yaak uh coeng.
21 Neither is there another nation upon the earth [such] as thy people Israel, whereas God led him in the way, to redeem a people for himself, to make for himself a great and glorious name, to cast out nations from before thy people, whom thou redeemedst out of Egypt.
Diklai ah namtu pakhat khaw na pilnam Israel bangla om nim? Namah ham lennah ming la khueh ham, a pilnam te lat pah ham Pathen loh a paan coeng. Egypt lamkah na lat na pilnam mikhmuh lamloh na haek ham tah namtom loh a rhih.
22 And thou hast appointed thy people Israel as a people to thyself for ever; and thou, Lord, didst become a God to them.
Na pilnam Israel te namah ham kumhal kah pilnam la na khueh. BOEIPA namah tah amih kah Pathen la na om pai.
23 And now, Lord, let the word which thou spokest to thy servant, and concerning his house, be confirmed for ever, and do thou as thou hast spoken.
BOEIPA aw, na sal ham neh a imkhui ham na thui ol te kumhal duela cak pawn saeh. Na thui bangla saii pai laeh.
24 And let thy name [be] established and magnified for ever, [men] saying, Lord, Lord, Almighty God of Israel: and [let] the house of thy servant David [be] established before thee.
Te dongah na ming te kumhal duela cak vetih pantai ni. “Israel Pathen tah Israel Pathen, caempuei BOEIPA,” a ti pai. Na sal David imkhui khaw na mikhmuh ah cikngae pai saeh.
25 For thou, O Lord my God, hast revealed to the ear of thy servant that thou wilt build him a house; therefore thy servant has found a willingness to pray before thee.
Kai kah Pathen namah loh a im sak hamla na sal kah hna he na vueh pah. Te dongah ni na sal loh na mikhmuh ah thangthui ham a hmuh.
26 And now, Lord, thou thyself art God, and thou hast spoken these good things concerning thy servant.
Pathen amah khaw BOEIPA namah coeng dongah ni hnothen he na sal ham na thui pah.
27 And now thou hast begun to bless the house of thy servant, so that it should continue for ever before thee: for thou, Lord, hast blessed [it], and do thou bless [it] for ever.
Na sal imkhui he yoethen sak ham neh na mikhmuh ah kumhal duela om sak ham na mulmet coeng. BOEIPA namah loh yoethen na paek dongah kumhal duela a yoethen.
