Psalms 66
1 To the chief music-maker. A Song. A Psalm. Send up a glad cry to God, all the earth:
Dem Vorsänger. Ein Lied, ein Psalm. Jauchzet Gott, ganze Erde!
2 Make a song in honour of his name: give praise and glory to him.
Besinget die Herrlichkeit seines Namens, machet herrlich sein Lob!
3 Say to God, How greatly to be feared are your works! because of your great power your haters are forced to put themselves under your feet.
Sprechet zu Gott: Wie furchtbar sind deine Werke! Wegen der Größe deiner Stärke unterwerfen sich dir deine Feinde mit Schmeichelei.
4 Let all the earth give you worship, and make songs to you; let them make songs to your name. (Selah)
Die ganze Erde wird dich anbeten und dir Psalmen singen; sie wird besingen deinen Namen. (Sela)
5 Come and see the works of God: he is to be feared in all he does to the children of men.
Kommet und sehet die Großtaten Gottes; furchtbar ist er in seinem Tun gegen die Menschenkinder.
6 The sea was turned into dry land: they went through the river on foot: there did we have joy in him.
Er wandelte das Meer in trockenes Land, sie gingen zu Fuß durch den Strom; da freuten wir uns in ihm.
7 He is ruling in power for ever; his eyes are watching the nations: may his haters have no strength against him. (Selah)
Er herrscht durch seine Macht auf ewig; seine Augen beobachten die Nationen. Daß sich nicht erheben die Widerspenstigen! (Sela)
8 Give blessings to our God, O you peoples, let the voice of his praise be loud;
Preiset, ihr Völker, unseren Gott, und lasset hören die Stimme seines Lobes;
9 Because he gives us life, and has not let our feet be moved.
der unsere Seele am Leben erhalten und nicht zugelassen hat, daß unsere Füße wankten!
10 For you, O God, have put us to the test: testing us by fire like silver.
Denn du hast uns geprüft, o Gott, du hast uns geläutert, wie man Silber läutert.
11 You let us be put in prison; chains were put on our legs.
Du hast uns ins Netz gebracht, hast eine drückende Last auf unsere Lenden gelegt.
12 You let men go driving over our heads; we went through fire and through water; but you took us out into a wide place.
Du hast Menschen reiten lassen auf unserem Haupte; wir sind ins Feuer und ins Wasser gekommen, aber du hast uns herausgeführt zu überströmender Erquickung.
13 I will come into your house with burned offerings, I will make payment of my debt to you,
Ich will eingehen in dein Haus mit Brandopfern, will dir bezahlen meine Gelübde,
14 Keeping the word which came from my lips, and which my mouth said, when I was in trouble.
wozu sich weit aufgetan meine Lippen, und die mein Mund ausgesprochen hat in meiner Bedrängnis.
15 I will give you burned offerings of fat beasts, and the smoke of sheep; I will make offerings of oxen and goats. (Selah)
Brandopfer von Mastvieh will ich dir opfern samt Räucherwerk von Widdern; Rinder samt Böcken will ich opfern. (Sela)
16 Come, give ear to me, all you God-fearing men, so that I may make clear to you what he has done for my soul.
Kommet, höret zu, alle, die ihr Gott fürchtet, und ich will erzählen, was er an meiner Seele getan hat.
17 My voice went up to him, and I was lifted up from the underworld.
Zu ihm rief ich mit meinem Munde, und seine Erhebung war unter meiner Zunge.
18 I said in my heart, The Lord will not give ear to me:
Wenn ich es in meinem Herzen auf Frevel abgesehen hätte, so würde der Herr nicht gehört haben.
19 But truly God's ear has been open; he has give attention to the voice of my prayer.
Doch Gott hat gehört, er hat gemerkt auf die Stimme meines Gebets.
20 Praise be to God who has not taken away his good faith and his mercy from me.
Gepriesen sei Gott, der nicht abgewiesen hat mein Gebet, noch von mir abgewandt seine Güte!
