Psalms 113

1 Let the Lord be praised. O you servants of the Lord, give praise to the name of the Lord.

Hallelujah! Looft, gij knechten des HEEREN! looft den Naam des HEEREN.

2 Let blessing be on the name of the Lord, from this time and for ever.

De Naam des HEEREN zij geprezen, van nu aan tot in der eeuwigheid.

3 From the coming up of the sun to its going down, the Lord's name is to be praised.

Van den opgang der zon af tot haar nedergang, zij de Naam des HEEREN geloofd.

4 The Lord is high over all nations, and his glory is higher than the heavens.

De HEERE is hoog boven alle heidenen, boven de hemelen is Zijn heerlijkheid.

5 Who is like the Lord our God, who is seated on high,

Wie is gelijk de HEERE, onze God? Die zeer hoog woont.

6 Looking down on the heavens, and on the earth?

Die zeer laag ziet, in den hemel en op de aarde.

7 He takes the poor man out of the dust, lifting him up from his low position;

Die den geringe uit het stof opricht, en den nooddruftige uit den drek verhoogt;

8 To give him a place among the rulers, even with the rulers of his people.

Om te doen zitten bij de prinsen, bij de prinsen Zijns volks.

9 He gives the unfertile woman a family, making her a happy mother of children. Give praise to the Lord.

Die de onvruchtbare doet wonen met een huisgezin, een blijde moeder van kinderen. Hallelujah!
