Psalms 112

1 Let the Lord be praised. Happy is the man who gives honour to the Lord, and has great delight in his laws.

Louez l'Éternel! Heureux l'homme qui craint l'Éternel, qui prend tout son plaisir en ses commandements!

2 His seed will be strong on the earth; blessings will be on the generation of the upright.

Sa postérité sera puissante sur la terre; la race des hommes droits sera bénie.

3 A store of wealth will be in his house, and his righteousness will be for ever.

L'abondance et la richesse seront dans sa maison, et sa justice subsiste à toujours.

4 For the upright there is a light shining in the dark; he is full of grace and pity.

La lumière se lève dans les ténèbres pour l'homme droit; il est compatissant, miséricordieux et juste.

5 All is well for the man who is kind and gives freely to others; he will make good his cause when he is judged.

Heureux l'homme qui est compatissant et qui prête; qui règle ses actions selon la justice!

6 He will not ever be moved; the memory of the upright will be living for ever.

Car il ne sera jamais ébranlé; la mémoire du juste sera perpétuelle.

7 He will have no fear of evil news; his heart is fixed, for his hope is in the Lord.

Il n'a pas à craindre les mauvaises nouvelles; son cœur est ferme, s'assurant en l'Éternel.

8 His heart is resting safely, he will have no fear, till he sees trouble come on his haters.

Son cœur bien appuyé ne craindra point, jusqu'à ce qu'il ait reposé sa vue sur ses ennemis.

9 He has given with open hands to the poor; his righteousness is for ever; his horn will be lifted up with honour.

Il a répandu, il a donné aux pauvres; sa justice demeure à perpétuité; sa tête s'élève avec gloire.

10 The sinner will see it with grief; he will be wasted away with envy; the desire of the evil-doers will come to nothing.

Le méchant le voit, et en a du dépit; il grince les dents et se consume; le désir des méchants périra.
