Nehemiah 7
1 Now when the building of the wall was complete and I had put up the doors, and the door-keepers and the music-makers and the Levites had been given their places,
城壁が築かれて、とびらを設け、さらに門衛、歌うたう者およびレビびとを任命したので、
2 I made my brother Hanani, and Hananiah, the ruler of the tower, responsible for the government of Jerusalem: for he was a man of good faith, fearing God more than most.
わたしは、わたしの兄弟ハナニと、城のつかさハナニヤに命じて、エルサレムを治めさせた。彼は多くの者にまさって忠信な、神を恐れる者であったからである。
3 And I said to them, Do not let the doors of Jerusalem be open till the sun is high; and while the watchmen are in their places, let the doors be shut and locked: and let the people of Jerusalem be put on watch, every one in his watch, opposite his house.
わたしは彼らに言った、「日の暑くなるまではエルサレムのもろもろの門を開いてはならない。人々が立って守っている間に門を閉じさせ、貫の木を差せ。またエルサレムの住民の中から番兵を立てて、おのおのにその所を守らせ、またおのおのの家と向かい合う所を守らせよ」。
4 Now the town was wide and great: but the people in it were only a small number, and the houses had not been put up.
町は広くて大きかったが、その内の民は少なく、家々はまだ建てられていなかった。
5 And my God put it into my heart to get together the rulers and the chiefs and the people so that they might be listed by families. And I came across a record of the names of those who came up at the first, and in it I saw these words:
時に神はわたしの心に、尊い人々、つかさおよび民を集めて、家系によってその名簿をしらべようとの思いを起された。わたしは最初に上って来た人々の系図を発見し、その中にこのようにしるしてあるのを見いだした。
6 These are the people of the divisions of the kingdom, among those who had been made prisoners by Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, and taken away by him, who went back to Jerusalem and Judah, every one to his town;
バビロンの王ネブカデネザルが捕え移した捕囚のうち、ゆるされてエルサレムおよびユダに上り、おのおの自分の町に帰ったこの州の人々は次のとおりである。
7 Who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:
彼らはゼルバベル、エシュア、ネヘミヤ、アザリヤ、ラアミヤ、ナハマニ、モルデカイ、ビルシャン、ミスペレテ、ビグワイ、ネホム、バアナと一緒に帰ってきた者たちである。そのイスラエルの民の人数は次のとおりである。
8 The children of Parosh, two thousand, one hundred and seventy-two.
パロシの子孫は二千百七十二人。
9 The children of Shephatiah, three hundred and seventy-two.
シパテヤの子孫は三百七十二人。
10 The children of Arah, six hundred and fifty-two.
アラの子孫は六百五十二人。
11 The children of Pahath-moab, of the children of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand, eight hundred and eighteen.
パハテ・モアブの子孫すなわちエシュアとヨアブの子孫は二千八百十八人。
12 The children of Elam, a thousand, two hundred and fifty-four.
エラムの子孫は一千二百五十四人。
13 The children of Zattu, eight hundred and forty-five.
ザットの子孫は八百四十五人。
14 The children of Zaccai, seven hundred and sixty.
ザッカイの子孫は七百六十人。
15 The children of Binnui, six hundred and forty-eight.
ビンヌイの子孫は六百四十八人。
16 The children of Bebai, six hundred and twenty-eight.
ベバイの子孫は六百二十八人。
17 The children of Azgad, two thousand, three hundred and twenty-two.
アズガデの子孫は二千三百二十二人。
18 The children of Adonikam, six hundred and sixty-seven.
アドニカムの子孫は六百六十七人。
19 The children of Bigvai, two thousand and sixty-seven.
ビグワイの子孫は二千六十七人。
20 The children of Adin, six hundred and fifty-five.
アデンの子孫は六百五十五人。
21 The children of Ater, of Hezekiah, ninety-eight.
ヒゼキヤの家のアテルの子孫は九十八人。
22 The children of Hashum, three hundred and twenty-eight.
ハシュムの子孫は三百二十八人。
23 The children of Bezai, three hundred and twenty-four.
ベザイの子孫は三百二十四人。
24 The children of Hariph, a hundred and twelve.
ハリフの子孫は百十二人。
25 The children of Gibeon, ninety-five.
ギベオンの子孫は九十五人。
26 The men of Beth-lehem and Netophah, a hundred and eighty-eight.
ベツレヘムおよびネトパの人々は百八十八人。
27 The men of Anathoth, a hundred and twenty-eight.
アナトテの人々は百二十八人。
28 The men of Beth-azmaveth, forty-two.
ベテ・アズマウテの人々は四十二人。
29 The men of Kiriath-jearim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, seven hundred and forty-three.
キリアテ・ヤリム、ケピラおよびベエロテの人々は七百四十三人。
30 The men of Ramah and Geba, six hundred and twenty-one.
ラマおよびゲバの人々は六百二十一人。
31 The men of Michmas, a hundred and twenty-two.
ミクマシの人々は百二十二人。
32 The men of Beth-el and Ai, a hundred and twenty-three.
ベテルおよびアイの人々は百二十三人。
33 The men of the other Nebo, fifty-two.
ほかのネボの人々は五十二人。
34 The children of the other Elam, a thousand, two hundred and fifty-four.
ほかのエラムの子孫は一千二百五十四人。
35 The children of Harim, three hundred and twenty.
ハリムの子孫は三百二十人。
36 The children of Jericho, three hundred and forty-five.
エリコの人々は三百四十五人。
37 The children of Lod, Hadid, and Ono, seven hundred and twenty-one.
ロド、ハデデおよびオノの人々は七百二十一人。
38 The children of Senaah, three thousand, nine hundred and thirty.
セナアの子孫は三千九百三十人。
39 The priests: the children of Jedaiah, of the family of Jeshua, nine hundred and seventy-three.
祭司では、エシュアの家のエダヤの子孫が九百七十三人。
40 The children of Immer, a thousand and fifty-two.
インメルの子孫が一千五十二人。
41 The children of Pashhur, a thousand, two hundred and forty-seven.
パシュルの子孫が一千二百四十七人。
42 The children of Harim, a thousand and seventeen.
ハリムの子孫が一千十七人。
43 The Levites: the children of Jeshua, of Kadmiel, of the children of Hodevah, seventy-four.
レビびとでは、エシュアの子孫すなわちホデワの子孫のうちのカデミエルの子孫が七十四人。
44 The music-makers: the children of Asaph, a hundred and forty-eight.
歌うたう者では、アサフの子孫が百四十八人。
45 The door-keepers: the children of Shallum, the children of Ater, the children of Talmon, the children of Akkub, the children of Hatita, the children of Shobai, a hundred and thirty-eight.
門衛では、シャルムの子孫、アテルの子孫、タルモンの子孫、アックブの子孫、ハテタの子孫およびショバイの子孫合わせて百三十八人。
46 The Nethinim: the children of Ziha, the children of Hasupha, the children of Tabbaoth,
宮に仕えるしもべでは、ジハの子孫、ハスパの子孫、タバオテの子孫、
47 The children of Keros, the children of Sia, the children of Padon,
ケロスの子孫、シアの子孫、パドンの子孫、
48 The children of Lebana, the children of Hagaba, the children of Salmai,
レバナの子孫、ハガバの子孫、サルマイの子孫、
49 The children of Hanan, the children of Giddel, the children of Gahar,
ハナンの子孫、ギデルの子孫、ガハルの子孫、
50 The children of Reaiah, the children of Rezin, the children of Nekoda,
レアヤの子孫、レヂンの子孫、ネコダの子孫、
51 The children of Gazzam, the children of Uzza, the children of Paseah,
ガザムの子孫、ウザの子孫、パセアの子孫、
52 The children of Besai, the children of Meunim, the children of Nephushesim,
ベサイの子孫、メウニムの子孫、ネフセシムの子孫、
53 The children of Bakbuk, the children of Hakupha, the children of Harhur,
バクブクの子孫、ハクパの子孫、ハルホルの子孫、
54 The children of Bazlith, the children of Mehida, the children of Harsha,
バヅリテの子孫、メヒダの子孫、ハルシャの子孫、
55 The children of Barkos, the children of Sisera, the children of Temah,
バルコスの子孫、シセラの子孫、テマの子孫、
56 The children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha.
ネヂアの子孫およびハテパの子孫。
57 The children of Solomon's servants: the children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Perida,
ソロモンのしもべであった者たちの子孫では、ソタイの子孫、ソペレテの子孫、ペリダの子孫、
58 The children of Jaala, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel,
ヤアラの子孫、ダルコンの子孫、ギデルの子孫、
59 The children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth-hazzebaim, the children of Amon.
シパテヤの子孫、ハッテルの子孫、ポケレテ・ハッゼバイムの子孫、アモンの子孫。
60 All the Nethinim and the children of Solomon's servants were three hundred and ninety-two.
宮に仕えるしもべたちとソロモンのしもべであった者たちの子孫とは合わせて三百九十二人。
61 All these were the people who went up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer; but because they had no knowledge of their fathers' families or offspring, it was not certain if they were Israelites:
テルメラ、テルハレサ、ケルブ、アドンおよびインメルから上って来た者があったが、その氏族と、血統とを示して、イスラエルの者であることを明らかにすることができなかった。その人々は次のとおりである。
62 The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred and forty-two.
すなわちデラヤの子孫、トビヤの子孫、ネコダの子孫であって、合わせて六百四十二人。
63 And of the priests: the children of Hobaiah, the children of Hakkoz, the children of Barzillai, who was married to one of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and took their name.
また祭司のうちにホバヤの子孫、ハッコヅの子孫、バルジライの子孫がある。バルジライはギレアデびとバルジライの娘たちのうちから妻をめとったので、その名で呼ばれた。
64 They made search for their record among the lists of families, but their names were nowhere to be seen, so they were looked on as unclean and no longer priests.
これらの者はこの系図に載った者のうちに、自分の籍をたずねたが、なかったので、汚れた者として祭司の職から除かれた。
65 And the Tirshatha said that they were not to have the most holy things for their food, till a priest came to give decision by the Urim and Thummim.
総督は彼らに告げて、ウリムとトンミムを帯びる祭司の起るまでは、いと聖なる物を食べてはならぬと言った。
66 The number of all the people together was forty-two thousand, three hundred and sixty;
会衆は合わせて四万二千三百六十人であった。
67 As well as their men-servants and their women-servants, of whom there were seven thousand, three hundred and thirty-seven; and they had two hundred and forty-five men and women to make music.
このほかに男女の奴隷が七千三百三十七人、歌うたう者が男女合わせて二百四十五人あった。
68 They had seven hundred and thirty-six horses, two hundred and forty-five transport beasts;
その馬は七百三十六頭、その騾馬は二百四十五頭、
69 Four hundred and thirty-five camels, six thousand, seven hundred and twenty asses.
そのらくだは四百三十五頭、そのろばは六千七百二十頭であった。
70 And some of the heads of families gave money for the work. The Tirshatha gave into the store a thousand darics of gold, fifty basins, five hundred and thirty priests' robes.
氏族の長のうち工事のためにささげ物をした人々があった。総督は金一千ダリク、鉢五十、祭司の衣服五百三十かさねを倉に納めた。
71 And some of the heads of families gave into the store for the work twenty thousand darics of gold, and two thousand, two hundred pounds of silver.
また氏族の長のうちのある人々は金二万ダリク、銀二千二百ミナを工事のために倉に納めた。
72 And that which the rest of the people gave was twenty thousand darics of gold, and two thousand pounds of silver, and sixty-seven priests' robes.
その他の民の納めたものは金二万ダリク、銀二千ミナ、祭司の衣服六十七かさねであった。
73 So the priests and the Levites and the door-keepers and the music-makers and some of the people and the Nethinim, and all Israel, were living in their towns.
こうして祭司、レビびと、門衛、歌うたう者、民のうちのある人々、宮に仕えるしもべたち、およびイスラエルびとは皆その町々に住んだ。イスラエルの人々はその町々に住んで七月になった。
