Malachi 3

1 See, I am sending my servant, and he will make ready the way before me; and the Lord, whom you are looking for, will suddenly come to his Temple; and the angel of the agreement, in whom you have delight, see, he is coming, says the Lord of armies.

“ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ବାର୍ତ୍ତାବାହକଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେରଣ କରୁଅଛୁ ଓ ସେ ଆମ୍ଭ ଆଗରେ ପଥ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରିବ; ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରୁଅଛ, ସେ ଅକସ୍ମାତ୍‍ ଆପଣା ମନ୍ଦିରକୁ ଆସିବେ; ଆଉ, ନିୟମର ଯେଉଁ ବାର୍ତ୍ତାବାହକଠାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସନ୍ତୁଷ୍ଟ ଅଟ, ଦେଖ, ସେ ଆସୁଅଛନ୍ତି,” ଏହା ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି।

2 But by whom may the day of his coming be faced? and who may keep his place when he is seen? for he is like the metal-tester's fire and the cleaner's soap.

ମାତ୍ର ତାହାଙ୍କର ଆଗମନ ଦିନ କିଏ ସହିପାରେ? ଆଉ, ସେ ଦର୍ଶନ ଦେବା ବେଳେ କିଏ ଠିଆ ହେବ? କାରଣ ସେ ପରିଷ୍କାରକାରୀର ଅଗ୍ନି ତୁଲ୍ୟ ଓ ଲୁଗା ସଫା କ୍ଷାର ସ୍ୱରୂପ;

3 He will take his seat, testing and cleaning the sons of Levi, burning away the evil from them as from gold and silver; so that they may make offerings to the Lord in righteousness.

ପୁଣି, ସେ ରୌପ୍ୟ ପରିଷ୍କାରକ ଓ ଶୁଚିକାରକର ତୁଲ୍ୟ ବସିବେ ଓ ସେ ଲେବୀର ସନ୍ତାନଗଣଙ୍କୁ ପରିଷ୍କାର କରିବେ ପୁଣି ସୁନା ଓ ରୂପା ପରି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିଶୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବେ; ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟରେ ଧାର୍ମିକତାର ନୈବେଦ୍ୟ ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରିବେ।

4 Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the Lord, as in days gone by, and as in past years.

ସେତେବେଳେ, ପୁରାତନ କାଳର ଦିନରେ ଓ ପ୍ରାଚୀନ କାଳର ବର୍ଷରେ ଯେପରି ହେଉଥିଲା, ସେପରି ଯିହୁଦାର ଓ ଯିରୂଶାଲମର ନୈବେଦ୍ୟ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ସନ୍ତୋଷଜନକ ହେବ।

5 And I will come near to you for judging; I will quickly be a witness against the wonder-workers, against those who have been untrue in married life, against those who take false oaths; against those who keep back from the servant his payment, and who are hard on the widow and the child without a father, who do not give his rights to the man from a strange country, and have no fear of me, says the Lord of armies.

“ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ବିଚାର କରିବା ପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିବା ଆଉ, ତାନ୍ତ୍ରିକ ଓ ବ୍ୟଭିଚାରୀ ଓ ମିଥ୍ୟା ଶପଥକାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଓ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ବେତନଜୀବୀର ବେତନ ବିଷୟରେ, ବିଧବା ଓ ପିତୃହୀନ ପ୍ରତି ଅତ୍ୟାଚାର କରନ୍ତି, ଆଉ ବିଦେଶୀର ପ୍ରତି ଅନ୍ୟାୟ କରନ୍ତି ଓ ଆମ୍ଭଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ ନ କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଶୀଘ୍ର ସାକ୍ଷୀ ହେବା,” ଏହା ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି।

6 For I am the Lord, I am unchanged; and so you, O sons of Jacob, have not been cut off.

“କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ଆମ୍ଭର ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ ନାହିଁ; ଏହେତୁ ହେ ଯାକୁବଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବିନାଶ ହୋଇ ନାହିଁ।

7 From the days of your fathers you have been turned away from my rules and have not kept them. Come back to me, and I will come back to you, says the Lord of armies. But you say, How are we to come back?

ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଗଣର ସମୟଠାରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭର ବିଧିସବୁ ଲଙ୍ଘନ କରିଅଛ ଓ ସେହି ସବୁ ପାଳନ କରି ନାହଁ। ଆମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ଫେରି ଆସ, ତହିଁରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଫେରି ଆସିବା,” ଏହା ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି। ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କହୁଅଛ, “ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କିପରି ଫେରିବା?”

8 Will a man keep back from God what is right? But you have kept back what is mine. But you say, What have we kept back from you? Tenths and offerings.

ମନୁଷ୍ୟ କି ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଚୋରି କରିବ? ତଥାପି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭର ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଚୋରି କରୁଅଛ। ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କହୁଅଛ, “ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କିପରି ତୁମ୍ଭର ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଦଶମାଂଶରେ ଓ ନୈବେଦ୍ୟରେ ଚୋରି କରିଅଛୁ?”

9 You are cursed with a curse; for you have kept back from me what is mine, even all this nation.

ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅଭିଶାପରେ ଅଭିଶପ୍ତ ହୋଇଅଛ; କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ, ହଁ, ଏହିସବୁ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ ଆମ୍ଭର ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଚୋରି କରିଅଛି।

10 Let your tenths come into the store-house so that there may be food in my house, and put me to the test by doing so, says the Lord of armies, and see if I do not make the windows of heaven open and send down such a blessing on you that there is no room for it.

ଆମ୍ଭର ଗୃହରେ ଯେପରି ଖାଦ୍ୟ ରହିବ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭର ଭଣ୍ଡାରକୁ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଦଶମାଂଶ ଆଣ, ଆଉ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଆକାଶସ୍ଥ ଦ୍ୱାରସବୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରି, ରଖିବା ପାଇଁ ସ୍ଥାନ ନିଅଣ୍ଟ ହେବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦରୂପ ବୃଷ୍ଟି ବର୍ଷାଇବା କି ନାହିଁ, ଏହି ବିଷୟରେ ଏବେ ଆମ୍ଭର ପରୀକ୍ଷା ନିଅ,

11 And on your account I will keep back the locusts from wasting the fruits of your land; and the fruit of your vine will not be dropped on the field before its time, says the Lord of armies

ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସକାଶୁ ଗ୍ରାସକାରୀକୁ ଧମକାଇବା, ତହିଁରେ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଭୂମିର ଫଳ ନଷ୍ଟ କରିବ ନାହିଁ; କିଅବା କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାଲତାର ଫଳ ଅକାଳରେ ଝଡ଼ିବ ନାହିଁ, ଏହା ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି।

12 And you will be named happy by all nations: for you will be a land of delight, says the Lord of armies.

ସମସ୍ତ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସୁଖୀ କହିବେ କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏକ ମନୋହର ଦେଶ ହେବ, ଏହା ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି।

13 Your words have been strong against me, says the Lord. And still you say, What have we said against you?

ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, “ଆମ୍ଭ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର କଥାସବୁ କଠିନ ହୋଇଅଛି ଏହା ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି। ତଥାପି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କହୁଅଛ, ‘ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କାହିଁରେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ କଥା କହିଅଛୁ?’

14 You have said, It is no use worshipping God: what profit have we had from keeping his orders, and going in clothing of sorrow before the Lord of armies?

ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କହିଅଛ, ‘ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ସେବା କରିବାରେ କି ଲାଭ? ଆଉ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଅାଜ୍ଞା ରକ୍ଷା କରିଅଛୁ, ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଛାମୁରେ ଅନୁତପ୍ତ ହୋଇ ଗମନାଗମନ କରିଅଛୁ, ଏଥିରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର କି ଲାଭ?

15 And now to us the men of pride seem happy; yes, the evil-doers are doing well; they put God to the test and are safe.

ପୁଣି, ଏବେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅହଙ୍କାରୀକୁ ସୁଖୀ କହୁ; ହଁ, ଦୁଷ୍ଟାଚାରୀମାନେ ବର୍ଦ୍ଧିଷ୍ଣୁ ହୁଅନ୍ତି; ହଁ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ପରୀକ୍ଷା କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ରକ୍ଷା ପାଆନ୍ତି।’”

16 Then those in whom was the fear of the Lord had talk together: and the Lord gave ear, and it was recorded in a book to be kept in mind before him, for those who had the fear of the Lord and gave thought to his name.

ସେହି ସମୟରେ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ କଲେ, ସେମାନେ ଏକଆରେକର ସଙ୍ଗେ କଥାବାର୍ତ୍ତା କଲେ; ଆଉ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମନୋଯୋଗ କରି ତାହା ଶୁଣିଲେ ଓ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ କଲେ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ନାମ ଧ୍ୟାନ କଲେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏକ ସ୍ମରଣାର୍ଥ ନଳାକାର ପୁସ୍ତକ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଛାମୁରେ ଲେଖାଗଲା।

17 And they will be mine, says the Lord, in the day when I make them my special property; and I will have mercy on them as a man has mercy on his son who is his servant.

ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, “ଯେଉଁ ଦିନ ଆମ୍ଭେ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିବା, ସେହି ଦିନ ସେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭର ଲୋକ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍‍, ଆମ୍ଭର ସଞ୍ଚିତ ଧନ ହେବେ; ପୁଣି, କୌଣସି ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଯେପରି ଆପଣାର ସେବାକାରୀ ନିଜ ପୁତ୍ର ପ୍ରତି ଦୟା କରେ, ସେହିପରି ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଦୟା କରିବା।

18 Then you will again see how the upright man is different from the sinner, and the servant of God from him who is not.

ସେତେବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ, ଧାର୍ମିକ ଓ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ, ଯେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସେବା କରେ ଓ ଯେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ସେବା ନ କରେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ପ୍ରଭେଦ ଦେଖିବ।
