< Judges 21 >
1 Now the men of Israel had taken an oath in Mizpah, saying, Not one of us will give his daughter as a wife to Benjamin.
Ary ny lehilahy amin’ ny Isiraely efa nianiana tany Mizpa nanao hoe: Aoka tsy hisy amintsika hanome ny zananivavy ho vadin’ ny Benjamita.
2 And the people came to Beth-el, waiting there till evening before God, and gave themselves up to bitter weeping.
Dia nankany Betela ny olona ka nitoetra teo anatrehan’ Andriamanitra mandra-paharivan’ ny andro, dia nanandratra ny feony ka nitomany mafy dia mafy
3 And they said, O Lord, the God of Israel, why has this fate come on Israel, that today one tribe has been cut off from Israel?
nanao hoe: Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely ô, nahoana no tonga tamin’ ny Isiraely izao ankehitriny, ka fongotra ny firenena iray amin’ ny Isiraely?
4 Then on the day after, the people got up early and made an altar there, offering burned offerings and peace-offerings.
Ary nony ampitson’ iny dia nifoha maraina koa ny olona ka nanorina alitara teo ary nanatitra fanatitra dorana sy fanati-pihavanana.
5 And the children of Israel said, Who is there among all the tribes of Israel, who did not come up to the Lord at the meeting of all Israel? For they had taken a great oath that whoever did not come up to Mizpah to the Lord was to be put to death.
Ary hoy ny Zanak’ Isiraely: Iza amin’ ny ferenen’ Isiraely rehetra no tsy niakatra teo amin’ ny fiangonana hanatona an’ i Jehovah? fa efa nisy fianianana lehibe ny amin’ izay tsy niakatra ho any amin’ i Jehovah tany Mizpa hoe: Hatao maty tokoa izy.
6 And the children of Israel were moved with pity for Benjamin their brother, saying, Today one tribe has been cut off from Israel.
Ary ny Zanak’ Isiraely nanenina ny amin’ i Benjamina rahalahiny ka nanao hoe: Misy firenena iray voafongotra eo amin’ ny Isiraely ankehitriny.
7 What are we to do about wives for those who are still living? For we have taken an oath by the Lord that we will not give them our daughters for wives.
Ahoana no hataontsika amin’ ireo sisa hahazoany vady; fa isika efa nianiana tamin’ i Jehovah tsy hanome vady azy amin’ ny zanakavavintsika?
8 And they said, Which one of the tribes of Israel did not come up to Mizpah to the Lord? And it was seen that no one had come from Jabesh-gilead to the meeting.
Dia hoy izy: Iza amin’ ny firenen’ Isiraely no tsy mba niakatra ho any amin’ i Jehovah tany Mizpa? Ary, indro, tsy nisy olona avy tany Jebesi-gileada na dia iray akory aza nankany an-toby ho ao amin’ ny fiangonana.
9 For when the people were numbered, not one man of the people of Jabesh-gilead was present.
Fa rehefa voalamina ny olona, dia, indro, tsy nisy tao na dia iray akory aza avy tamin’ ny tompon-tany tany Jabesi-gileada.
10 So they (the meeting) sent twelve thousand of the best fighting-men, and gave them orders, saying, Go and put the people of Jabesh-gilead to the sword without mercy, with their women and their little ones.
Dia naniraka lehilahy mahery roa arivo sy iray alin-dahy ny fiangonana ka nandidy azy hoe: Mandehana, ka mameleza ny mponina any Jabesi-gileada amin’ ny lelan-tsabatra mbamin’ ny zaza amim-behivavy.
11 And this is what you are to do: every male, and every woman who has had sex relations with a man, you are to put to the curse, but you are to keep safe the virgins. And they did so.
Ary izao no hataonareo: Ny lehilahy rehetra sy ny vehivavy rehetra izay efa nahalala lahy dia haringanareo.
12 Now there were among the people of Jabesh-gilead four hundred young virgins who had never had sex relations with a man; these they took to their tents in Shiloh in the land of Canaan.
Ary nahita zazavavy virijina efa-jato tsy mbola nahalala lahy teo amin’ ny mponina tany Jabesi-gileada izy ka nitondra ireo ho any an-toby tany Silo any amin’ ny tany Kanana.
13 And all the meeting sent to the men of Benjamin who were in the rock of Rimmon, offering them peace.
Ary ny fiangonana rehetra dia naniraka niteny tamin’ ny taranak’ i Benjamina, izay tao amin’ ny harambato tao Rimona, ka niantso azy hihavana aminy.
14 Then Benjamin came back; and they gave them the women whom they had kept from death among the women of Jabesh-gilead: but still there were not enough for them.
Dia niverina tamin’ izany andro izany ny Benjamita, ka nomeny azy ireo vehivavy efa novelominy tamin’ ny vehivavy tao Jabesi-gileada ireo; kanjo mbola tsy nahenina azy ihany ireo.
15 And the people were moved with pity for Benjamin, because the Lord had let his wrath loose on the tribes of Israel.
Ary ny olona nanenina noho ny amin’ i Benjamina, satria nisy nobangain’ i Jehovah ny firenen’ Isiraely.
16 Then the responsible men of the meeting said, What are we to do about wives for the rest of them, seeing that the women of Benjamin are dead?
Dia hoy ny loholon’ ny fiangonana: Ahoana no hataontsika ho an’ ireo sisa mba hahazoany vady, fa efa naringana ny vehivavy tamin’ ny Benjamita?
17 And they said, How is the rest of Benjamin to be given offspring so that one tribe of Israel may not be put out of existence,
Ary hoy izy: Tsy maintsy mahazo lova ny Benjamita izay afa-nandositra, mba tsy hisy firenena iray fongotra amin’ ny Isiraely.
18 Seeing that we may not give them our daughters as wives? For the children of Israel had taken an oath, saying, Cursed is he who gives a wife to Benjamin.
Nefa isika tsy mahazo manome azy ny zanakavavintsika ho vadiny, satria efa nianiana ny Zanak’ Isiraely ka nanao hoe: Ho voaozona anie izay manome vady ho an’ ny Benjamita.
19 And they said, See, every year there is a feast of the Lord in Shiloh, which is to the north of Beth-el, on the east side of the highway which goes up from Beth-el to Shechem, and on the south of Lebonah.
Dia hoy izy: Indro, misy andro firavoravoana isan-taona ho an’ i Jehovah any Silo, izay avaratr’ i Betela, atsinanan’ ny lalambe miakatra avy any Betela hankany Sekema, ary atsimon’ i Lebona.
20 And they said to the men of Benjamin, Go into the vine-gardens, waiting there secretly,
Ary nandidy ny taranak’ i Benjamina izy ka nanao hoe: Mandehana, ka manotreha any amin’ ny tanim-boaloboka,
21 And watching; and if the daughters of Shiloh come out to take part in the dances, then come from the vine-gardens and take a wife for every one of you from among the daughters of Shiloh, and go back to the land of Benjamin.
ka jereo, ka raha, indreo, mivoaka handihy ny zazavavy avy any Silo, dia mivoaha avy ao amin’ ny tanim-boaloboka ianareo, ary samia misambotra amin’ ny zazavavy avy any Silo ho vadiny avy, ka mandehana any amin’ ny tanin’ ny Benjamina indray.
22 And when their fathers or their brothers come and make trouble, you are to say to them, Give them to us as an act of grace; for we did not take them as wives for ourselves in war; and if you yourselves had given them to us you would have been responsible for the broken oath.
Ary raha mankany aminay hitaraina ny rainy na ny anadahiny, dia holazainay aminy hoe: Omeo anay ihany izy, fa izahay tsy mba nahazo vady tany amin’ ilay ady teo; fa tsy ianareo no nanome azy; fa raha izany, dia meloka ihany ianareo.
23 So the men of Benjamin did this, and got wives for themselves for every one of their number, taking them away by force from the dance; then they went back to their heritage, building up their towns and living in them.
Dia nanao izany ny taranak’ i Benjamina ka samy naka vady araka ny isany tamin’ ny mpandihy izay nosamboriny; dia nandeha izy ka niverina ho any amin’ ny lovany ary namboatra ireo tanàna ireo ka nonina tao.
24 Then the children of Israel went away from there, every man to his tribe and his family, every man went back to his heritage.
Dia samy nandeha niala teo ny Zanak’ Isiraely tamin’ izany andro izany, samy ho any amin’ ny fireneny sy ny fokony avy; dia niala teo ho any amin’ ny lovany avy ny olona rehetra.
25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did what seemed right to him.
Tsy nisy mpanjaka teo amin’ ny Isiraely tamin’ izany andro izany; fa samy nanao izay nataony ho marina avy izy rehetra.
