Joshua 11
1 Now Jabin, king of Hazor, hearing of these things, sent to Jobab, king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,
Und es geschah, da Jabin, der König von Chazor, es hörte, da sandte er an Jobab, den König von Madon und an den König von Schimron und an den König von Achschaph;
2 And to the kings on the north in the hill-country, and in the Arabah south of Chinneroth, and in the lowland, and in the highlands of Dor on the west,
Und an die Könige, die von Mitternacht her auf dem Gebirge und auf dem Flachland gen Mittag von Kinneroth und in der Niederung und in Naphoth Dor vom Meere her waren;
3 And to the Canaanites on the east and on the west, and to the Amorites and the Hittites and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites in the hill-country, and the Hivites under Hermon in the land of Mizpah.
An den Kanaaniter vom Aufgang her und vom Meere her und den Amoriter und den Chethiter und den Pherisiter und den Jebusiter in dem Gebirge und den Chiviter unter dem Chermon im Lande Mizpah.
4 And they went out, they and all their armies with them, a great people, in number like the sand on the seaside, with horses and war-carriages in great number.
Und diese zogen aus, und all ihre Lager mit ihnen, viel Volkes wie der Sand am Ufer des Meeres an Menge; und sehr viel Rosse und Streitwagen.
5 And all these kings came together, and put their forces in position at the waters of Merom, to make war on Israel.
Und es taten sich zusammen alle diese Könige, und kamen und lagerten beisammen an den Wassern Merom, um mit Israel zu streiten.
6 And the Lord said to Joshua, Have no fear of them: for tomorrow at this time I will give them all up dead before Israel; you are to have the leg-muscles of their horses cut and their war-carriages burned with fire.
Und Jehovah sprach zu Joschua: Fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen; denn morgen um diese Zeit gebe Ich sie alle erschlagen dahin vor Israel. Ihre Rosse sollst du lähmen und ihre Streitwagen im Feuer verbrennen.
7 So Joshua and all the men of war with him came against them suddenly at the waters of Merom, and made an attack on them.
Und Joschua und all das Kriegsvolk mit ihm kam plötzlich über sie an den Wassern Merom und fiel über sie her.
8 And the Lord gave them up into the hands of Israel, and they overcame them driving them back to great Zidon and to Misrephoth-maim and into the valley of Mizpeh to the east; and they put them all to death, no man got away safely.
Und Jehovah gab sie in die Hand Israels; und sie schlugen sie und setzten ihnen nach bis Zidon, die große Stadt, und bis Misrephoth Majim und bis zur Talebene Mizpeh gegen Aufgang, und sie schlugen sie, bis ihnen kein Rest übrig war.
9 And Joshua did to them as the Lord had said to him; he had the leg-muscles of their horses cut and their war-carriages burned with fire.
Und Joschua tat ihnen, wie ihm Jehovah gesagt hatte: Ihre Rosse lähmte er und verbrannte ihre Streitwagen im Feuer.
10 At that time, Joshua went on to take Hazor and put its king to the sword: for in earlier times Hazor was the chief of all those kingdoms.
Und Joschua kehrte um in selbiger Zeit und eroberte Chazor, und schlug dessen König mit dem Schwert. Denn Chazor war vordem das Haupt aller dieser Königreiche.
11 And they put every person in it to death without mercy, giving every living thing up to the curse, and burning Hazor.
Und jede Seele in ihr erschlugen sie mit der Schärfe des Schwertes und verbannten es, so daß nichts überblieb, in dem Odem war. Und Chazor verbrannte er mit Feuer.
12 And all the towns of these kings, and all the kings, Joshua took, and put them to the sword: he gave them up to the curse, as Moses, the servant of the Lord, had said.
Und Joschua eroberte alle Städte dieser Könige und all ihre Könige, und schlug sie mit der Schärfe des Schwertes und verbannte sie, wie Mose, der Knecht Jehovahs, geboten hatte.
13 As for the towns made on hills of earth, not one was burned by Israel but Hazor, which was burned by Joshua.
Jedoch verbrannte Israel keine der Städte, die auf Anhöhen standen; nur Chazor allein verbrannte Joschua.
14 And all the goods taken from these towns, and their cattle, the children of Israel kept for themselves; but every man they put to death without mercy, till their destruction was complete, and there was no one living.
Und alle Beute dieser Städte und das Vieh nahmen die Söhne Israels als Raub für sich; nur die Menschen alle schlugen sie mit der Schärfe des Schwertes, bis sie sie vernichtet hatten. Nichts, das Odem hatte, ließen sie verbleiben.
15 As the Lord had given orders to Moses his servant, so Moses gave orders to Joshua, and so Joshua did; every order which the Lord had given to Moses was done.
Wie Jehovah Seinem Knechte Mose geboten hatte, also gebot Mose dem Joschua; und also tat Joschua, und in keinem Worte wich dieser von allem ab, was Jehovah dem Mose geboten hatte.
16 So Joshua took all that land, the hill-country and all the South, and all the land of Goshen, and the lowland and the Arabah, the hill-country of Israel and its lowland;
Und Joschua nahm dies ganze Land, das Gebirge und das ganze Mittagsland, und das ganze Land Goschen und die Niederung, und das Flachland, und das Gebirge Israel und seine Niederung.
17 From Mount Halak, which goes up to Seir, as far as Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon under Mount Hermon: and all their kings he overcame and put to death.
Von dem kahlen Berge, der aufsteigt gen Seir, bis Baal Gad in der Talebene des Libanon unten am Berge Chermon; und alle ihre Könige eroberte er und schlug und tötete sie.
18 For a long time Joshua made war on all those kings.
Viele Tage hatte Joschua Streit mit allen diesen Königen.
19 Not one town made peace with the children of Israel, but only the Hivites of Gibeon: they took them all in war.
Es war keine Stadt, die mit den Söhnen Israels Frieden machte, außer den Chivitern, den Einwohnern Gibeons; sie nahmen alle im Streit.
20 For the Lord made them strong in heart to go to war against Israel, so that he might give them up to the curse without mercy, and that destruction might come on them, as the Lord had given orders to Moses.
Denn von Jehovah war es, daß sie ihr Herz bestärkten, im Streite Israel zu begegnen, um sie zu verbannen, auf daß ihnen keine Gnade widerführe, sondern sie vernichtet würden, wie Jehovah Mose geboten hatte.
21 And Joshua came at that time and put an end to the Anakim in the hill-country, in Hebron, in Debir, in Anab, and in all the hill-country of Judah and Israel: Joshua gave them and their towns to the curse.
Und Joschua kam in selbiger Zeit und rottete die Enakim aus vom Gebirge, von Chebron, von Debir, von Anab, und vom ganzen Gebirge Judah und vom ganzen Gebirge Israel; mit ihren Städten verbannte sie Joschua.
22 Not one of the Anakim was to be seen in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, some were still living.
Und man ließ keine Enakim im Lande der Söhne Israels übrigbleiben. Nur in Gazah, in Gath und in Aschdod verblieben sie.
23 So Joshua took all the land, as the Lord had said to Moses; and Joshua gave it to the children of Israel as their heritage, making division of it among them by their tribes. And the land had rest from war.
Und Joschua nahm das ganze Land gemäß allem, was Jehovah zu Mose geredet hatte, und Joschua gab es Israel zum Erbe, nach den Teilen in ihren Stämmen, und das Land rastete vom Streit.
